The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club

TODAY for Lunch I went to China Garden in Naranja Lakes. I’ve been going there (continuously) longer than any other Homestead area restaurant – since 1994. I feel right at home there. I always get the same thing. It’s Won Ton Soup. It’s Beef & Broccoli. It’s Hot Tea. It’s Cold Water. I don’t even have to order it. It just arrives at my table shortly after I sit down.

Here’s my Fortune Cookie Message:

‘You have a quiet and unobtrusive nature.’

That is so me !

Monday Night Countdown

And now it’s time for Phil‘s favourite blog entry of the week here on ‘The Major’s Life Blog’ – whether he admits it or not. It’s time for the ‘Monday Night Countdown’, and this week we count down the TOP 5 items in my household that are green. I’m not talking about environmentally-friendly items. I’m really talking about items that are green in colour.

Let us begin:

5.  Renuzit – Tropical Melon
I’ve got these cones working overtime all throughout my home sweet home. I can’t wait to open this one up to let the flavourful aromas of melons permeate all throughout my living room !  I can smell the taste already !

4.  Lysol – Green Apple Breeze Scent
I see a trend developing here. It’s called making your home smell absolutely delicious with the delightful scent of fruits. This may be the most pleasureable Lysol brand scent available to mankind, but I’m getting worried that they may have discontinued this particular scent. 😥

3.  Act – Mint
After I’ve brushed my teeth for 5 minutes I rinse my mouth out with this tasty gem. Dude it helps prevent cavities, strengthens teeth, and freshens breath !

2.  Plax – Soft Mint
I can’t brush my teeth until after I’ve removed the plaque with this marvelous 20TH Century dental invention. Publix actually doesn’t carry this item, so I usually pick it up at Walgreens or Target. (It’s usually more than two dollars cheaper at Target.)

1.  Irish Spring – Aloe
I won’t take a shower without it. I refuse to use any other deodorant bar soap. This is it right here. This is what starts off my morning. This is where it all begins. It’s just me and my bar of Irish Spring !

Bedtime Stories

Greetings My Friends,

It’s time for another sporadic edition of the once-regular ‘Bedtime Stories’ – sponsored by the all-new 1964 Volkswagon Station Wagon. Be sure to check out this sparkling beauty at a VW dealership near you. It’s got at least 21 windows !

I’m currently watching “Big Brother 10” on CBS-TV. I was about 15 seconds into this episode when I realized that I never saw Wednesday night’s pivotal eviction episode. I’ve got it on DVD, but now I know who got evicted from the house (and deservedly so after his unusual potty-mouth rant).

Coming up at 9 PM it’s another all-new episode of the “Ice Road Truckers” on History. I’ve seen every single episode of both seasons of this saga, and I admit – I’m totally addicted to the bonechilling Arctic action !

Later on tonight at 10 PM it’s another fresh new edition of the train wreck reality series known as “The Two Coreys” on A&E. Goodness Gracious !  Did I just admit to the entire world that I actually watch that diatribe ?

After that I’m going to bed where I’ll have another intimate conversation with God. There’s a few things that are on my mind that I wish to share with Him. He already knows about them. He’s just waiting for me to formally present them to Him. I’ll always do what He says is the right thing to do on His fantastic journey. I’ll always follow His lead !

And so Ela (and everyone else) there you have your ‘Bedtime Stories’ for this Sunday night the 27TH of July 2008. May each and every one of you have a safe and peaceful night with your loved ones. Thank You so much for blogging with me this past week, and I hope to see you back on here during this upcoming week.

Good Night Everyone !  Good Night Anne J. !  Good Night Ol’ Atom Splitter !

Oh Yeah – I almost forgot – REMEMBER THIS !

Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

1.  The main lobby floor of the movie theatre looked exquisitely clean for a change this morning due to the fact that I vacuumed it with Anne J.’s most recent donation to Life Pointe Church – a retro Oreck upright vacuum cleaner. Movie theatre personnel offered to finish the job for me three times while I was vacuuming. Where were they 30 minutes before I started it ?

2.  Pastor Travis anxiously spoke on anxiety. The following Scriptures were utilized as support material – 1 John 4:18, Ephesians 6:10, Matthew 6:24-33, and Philippians 4:2-9.

Matthew 6:24-33 is a quite powerful Scripture of the Good News:

24  “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
25  “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing ?
26  Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are ?
27  Can all your worries add a single moment to your life ?
28  “And why worry about your clothing ?  Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,
29  yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
30  And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith ?
31  “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat ?  What will we drink ?  What will we wear ?’
32  These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
33  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

3.  We received about a half an inch of rain during the 9 AM service this morning. The sound of torrential downpours from outside of the movie theatre while we are cool and dry inside praising, worshiping, and getting more intimate with Jesus Christ provides for the perfect backdrop. It fits in perfectly on the soundtrack of our Sunday morning with our Life Pointe Church family.
