Sunday Scripture

Our words must reflect what God has placed on our heart. It must reflect the Holy Spirit. It must reflect the fruits of the Holy Spirit. You know – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23). If you’re spouting off at the mouth – like an erupting volcano – then are you really reflecting any of those fruits at all ?

When we carry anger on our heart – when we slander others with our words – we are sinning against God The Holy Spirit. See God didn’t place anger on our heart. The enemy did that. The world did that. Anger is the complete opposite of love, and joy, and peace, and patience, and kindness, and goodness, and faithfulness, and gentleness, and self-control. Those the are fruits of The Holy Spirit. Those are the fruits that you can only have on your heart once God rescues and saves you.

Paul to the Ephesians (4:23-24) – … let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature – created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

God has identified us as His own. He chose you. He chose me. And He’s given us the Holy Spirit that gives us the power that we need to live the way He wants us to live – and to say the things He wants us to say. If we listen to the Holy Spirit, and if we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us – then we will want to obey God. We will seek God’s Glory – above our own.

Greetings Church Family. I have returned home from vacation at beautiful Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. It was a first-time visit for me, and it was only my second-time ever to Canada. (I visited Windsor for a few hours about 13 years ago.)

The Falls were spectacular to see, hear, feel, and experience up-close. The rides and walks through the endless mist were refreshing in the Canadian heatwave (mid-to-upper 90s Fahrenheit / mid-30s Celsius).

“O Sovereign LORD !  You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you !  (Jeremiah 32:17 NLT)

Me, my brother, and his wife stayed within walking distance of Clifton Hill – the shopping and entertainment tourist district of Niagara Falls. It was a lot of fun for a couple of days, but it’s always great to return back home again – where I belong.

Tomorrow night at a local church revival I’m preaching a sermon titled “Accepted & Anointed”. That’s what we all are on this fantastic journey towards God’s bright light. If we believe that fully – then we can change the world with our works – using our strong hands and our powerful arms.

Sunday Scripture

It was a Good Good Sunday today at Living Waters Full Gospel Church of Homestead Florida.

Ephesians 2:1-10 served as the backdrop for both my full sermon as well as Communion today. We are made alive in Christ, and as the Bible says:

Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin – just like the rest of the world – obeying the devil – the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way – following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger – just like everyone else.

But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much – that even though we were dead because of our sins – He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved !) For He raised us from the dead along with Christ, and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of His grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this. It is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

You Call Me …

This Sunday July 01ST I’ll be preaching a full sermon to my church family titled “Faith & Works”. 8 days later I’ll be preaching another full sermon to another church family here in town titled “Anointed & Accepted”. In-between those two sermons I’ll be on vacation, so it’ll be a crazy start to the month of July for me.

This is part of my “Faith & Works” sermon for this Sunday:

There’s an engraving on a cathedral wall in Germany that reads as follows:

Thus speaketh Christ our Lord to us:
You call Me Master, and obey Me not.
You call Me Light, and see Me not.
You call Me the Way, and walk Me not.
You call Me Life, and choose Me not.
You call Me Wise, and follow Me not.
You call Me Fair, and love Me not.
You call Me Rich, and ask Me not.
You call Me Eternal, and seek Me not.
You call Me Noble, and serve Me not.
You call Me Gracious, and trust Me not.
You call Me Might, and honor Me not.
You call Me Just, and fear Me not.
If I judge you – then blame Me not.
