Sunday Scripture

It’s been 70 days since I returned to my original blog on social media – a blog that I regularly posted in a full decade ago. I blogged over 1,300 times back then, and every single one of those blogs can still be read today. I enjoy reading some of those classic gems.

I burnt out on blogging, and I discovered Twitter in 2009. I fell in love with the 140-characters-or-less universe. I then joined Facebook 5 years ago this week on March 31ST 2013 (Easter Sunday). I brought my blogging back to Facebook. It was popular at first, but then it eventually got buried by all of the politics that people prefer discussing over there. Towards the end of my blogging (this past New Year’s Eve) I was dismayed that I’d pour my heart and soul for hours on a blog, post it on Facebook, and watch it get maybe 10 likes (on a good week). Meanwhile others would post fake news or a politically-charged meme, and it would get 10 likes in less than a minute.

So I’m back on here, I’ve got a new audience, I’ve brought some friends over from Facebook and Twitter, and I’m blogging 3 times per week again. It’s peaceful here on WordPress, and I don’t have to dig through all of the political nonsense to get to the positive, encouraging, and inspirational news that I’d rather read and absorb online.

Thank You for joining me here on Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays. I love you all !

It’s Palm Sunday. I preached this earlier today from John 12:12-19 (NLT):

The next day – the news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A large crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet Him. They shouted, “Praise God !  Blessings on the One who comes in the name of the Lord !  Hail to the King of Israel !” Jesus found a young donkey and rode on it – fulfilling the prophecy that said: “Don’t be afraid – people of Jerusalem. Look – your King is coming – riding on a donkey’s colt.” His disciples didn’t understand at the time that this was a fulfillment of prophecy. But after Jesus entered into His glory – they remembered what had happened and realized that these things had been written about Him. Many in the crowd had seen Jesus call Lazarus from the tomb – raising him from the dead, and they were telling others about it. That was the reason so many went out to meet Him – because they had heard about this miraculous sign. Then the Pharisees said to each other, “There’s nothing we can do. Look – everyone has gone after Him !”

I listen to K-LOVE every day at home and in my car. In fact it’s on all night long while I sleep, and it’s the first thing I hear when I awake each day. I’ve been a loyal K-LOVE listener and financial supporter for the past 13 months. It’s one of my all-time favorite radio stations. After my first 5-year “relationship” with a local (Miami Florida) Christian music radio station ended sourly in 2011 I thought I would never return to the format. I actually flipped to classic hits of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s for about 5 years.

Turning my back on Christian music (and Scripture) on the radio negatively affected my fantastic journey. My walk towards God’s light was slowing down from its former vigorous pace – even stalling at times. I switched to a new church family 3 years ago this month, and that kick-started a new beginning – even a renaissance on this journey. 2 years later God delivered K-LOVE into my life, and I’m a warrior for Christ again.

For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See – I have already begun !  Do you not see it ?  I will make a pathway through the wilderness for My people to come home. I will create rivers for them in the desert !  (Isaiah 43:19 NLT)

Don’t allow the world around you to interrupt your fantastic journey. Keep moving forward into His light. Walk vigorously towards your Lord & Savior Jesus Christ !

Sunday Scripture

I’m currently between sermons right now. I preached a full sermon on March 04TH, and I’ll possibly be preaching again on April 08TH. Last night I finished writing my next sermon on “Light & Dark”. It’s all about living in the light – and constantly moving towards the source of the light – God’s light – and away from where I came from – the dark – Satan’s dark. My new sermon continues my message series on the Book Of James; although, this particular message contains much Good News from First John Chapters 1 and 2. I tweeted this verse yesterday:

If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a Christian brother or sister – that person is still living in darkness. (1 John 2:9 NLT)

I Can Only Imagine” shocked the box office this weekend. Initial estimates suggested that it could possibly make $2 to $4 million this weekend in box office receipts. When I saw that I said, “NO WAY !  This movie will be HUGE. This movie will make $15 to $20 million this weekend. You’re underestimating the power of God and His people.”

It ran out of the gate with $1.3 million during its Thursday night previews and nearly $5 million on Friday, $6 million on Saturday, and $5 million today. That’s over $17 million this weekend. It was the # 3 or # 4 movie on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – just behind the big budget Hollywood blockbusters “Black Panther” and “Tomb Raider”. It was the # 1 movie of the weekend in per theatre average. That means it was the most crowded movie to see this weekend. That’s God’s Glory shining His light at the movie theatres from coast to coast.

I’m seeing it this upcoming Thursday. Later that same day – Newsboys LIVE in concert !

  3. “Bleed The Same” – Mandisa Ft. TobyMac [3 / 14TH]

  10. “So Will I (100 Billion X)” – Hillsong UNITED [- / 1ST]

46-year-old Lincoln Brewster hits # 1 this week with his debut smash on my personal weekly hit music chart. The dude with the cool name has been actively performing since about the age of 1 (that’s right – 1), and he was saved and rescued by Jesus Christ in his early-20s. It wasn’t until last year when I heard of him for the first time. His 2006 smash, “Everlasting God” is an awesome song that K-LOVE plays on a fairly regular basis. It gets me dancing when I hear it – even while I’m driving.

LORD – There is no one like You !  For You are great, and Your name is full of power. (Jeremiah 10:6 NLT)

As for “Gracefully Broken” we sang this song for the first time as our 3RD of 4 songs during “Praise & Worship” yesterday morning at my church. It gave me the goosebumps as I was singing it out loud and proud with my brothers and sisters. I knew all the words. Unfortunately it was not enough to keep it at # 1 this week. After 6 weeks at the top it drops a notch to # 2.

I’ve added a 2ND page to this blog. Check out my “SERMONS” page by clicking on the tab above. It’s a work in progress – much like myself.

May God bless you and your loved ones – always and forever – AMEN !
