  8. “Resurrection Power” – Chris Tomlin [- / 1ST]
  9. “Fear Is A Liar” – Zach Williams [- / 1ST]
  10. “When We Pray” – Tauren Wells [- / 1ST]

3 new entries this week – led by Chris Tomlin with his follow-up to his long-running # 1 smash from last year – “Home”. Although it only spent 2 weeks at # 1 it was on my Top 10 for 20 weeks. We’ll see if “Resurrection Power” has staying power like that. Zach Williams is back with his follow-up to “Old Church Choir”. It spent a couple of months at # 1 on national weekly Christian music charts based on radio airplay, but it only managed a # 2 peak (for a single week) on my chart. Tauren Wells enters at # 10 with his latest “When We Pray” which is slowly growing on me due to its powerful message that’ll preach – (“… all the world starts changing – when the church starts praying …”).

Here’s me preaching yesterday at Living Waters Full Gospel Church in Homestead Florida. That’s the name of my sermon right there – “Faith & Patience”. It was mostly based on James 1:1-6.

Faith & Patience

James 1:2-4 (NLT) – Dear brothers and sisters – when troubles come your way – consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested – your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed – you will be perfect and complete – needing nothing.

The Major’s Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2008

  1. Friend Like That – Hawk Nelson
  2. Medicine – The Fold
  3. Shake It Off – Dizmas
  4. Ra-Random – Transistor Radio
  5. Never Going Back To OK – The Afters

These were my Top 5 hits exactly 10 years ago this weekend – Sunday February 10TH 2008.

Hawk Nelson are one of the few Christian pop-rock bands that I’ve been listening to since nearly the beginning of my 11½-year fantastic journey of believing and following my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. They debuted on my personal weekly hit music chart just 2 months after my salvation began. Their 2006 hit “The Show” was my Christmas # 1 smash. They followed that up with “Zero” – a 2007 # 1 smash – and “Friend Like That” – a 2008 # 1 smash. Last Summer “Live Like You’re Loved” was a # 1 smash for 3 weeks. Clearly I love this band’s music and the message in their songs.

Their new album “Miracles” drops 8 weeks from today on Friday April 06TH 2018.

This Monday night I’ll reveal my brand new Top 10 chart of today’s hits !

  9. “Only King Forever” – 7eventh Time Down [9 / 16TH]
  10. “Different” – Micah Tyler [10 / 26TH]

One lone new entry this week – the latest from Sidewalk Prophets – a band that I’m just now starting to get into. I saw them LIVE in concert last October in Southwest Florida (Estero) at “Big Church Night Out“, and they were amazing. I realized that I knew most of their songs that they performed because of my daily listening of K-LOVE. At that same concert – performing just before Sidewalk Prophets – 7eventh Time Down. Their hit “Only King Forever” was at # 6 in its 2ND week on this chart on the night of that concert.

This Scripture topped my Sermon this past Sunday morning:

Psalm 115:1 (NLT) – Not to us – O LORD not to us, but to Your name goes all the glory – for Your unfailing love and faithfulness.

  10. “Different” – Micah Tyler [10 / 25TH]

Here I am – God – arms wide open. Pouring out – my life – “Gracefully Broken”.

I love to sing along with Matt & Tasha whenever I hear that beautiful song on K-LOVE. It’s only a matter of time before we sing it as part of our Praise & Worship set on Sunday mornings.

At the start of my salvation – about 11½ years ago – I realized my need for God. For the first time ever I said, “I NEED YOU GOD !”, and I’ve been saying that ever since. In the early days I said it quietly – without talking. And God heard me. He hears our thoughts. Now I’m not afraid to say it out loud – no matter who’s there to hear me. I know God’s there to hear me, and He does, so that’s all that matters.

I realized that I’m spiritually poor without Him. God blessed me. The result – I found true happiness – true joy – once I realized that I can’t live without Him. The Kingdom of Heaven is mine. It’s ours.

Matthew 5:3 (NLT) – God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
