# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Control (Somehow You Want Me)” – Tenth Avenue North

Micah Tyler, Lauren Daigle, and We Are Messengers were on my chart exactly one year ago this week.

Later this week I’ll be seeing for King & Country and Zach Williams LIVE in concert. I saw the setlist of a recent concert posted online. They performed 4 traditional Christmas songs – followed by 9 of their biggest hits (and some new tracks too) – followed by 6 more Christmas songs – with “joy” included in the midst of it. So 19 songs in all. Zach Williams opened the show with 7 songs (including all 4 of his recent chart hits). I’m so looking forward to this show. It should be a lot of fun !

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 blog posts on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. Enjoy this week my friends. I’m on Twitter @ChrisMDay, and I’m also the man behind the tweets for my church @LivingWatersHFL. May God bless you – always and forever.

Sunday Scripture

IMG_3380

The meticulous background and the state-of-the-art lighting of our brand new stage made its debut on this Sunday morning. It’s beautiful !  (The lighting is multi-colored. Today we went with a midnight blue.)

Our Lead Pastor Bob began a new message series this morning on the “Journey To The Cross”. Today’s sermon was based on Luke 9:51 and Luke 18:35-43. We all have a little bit of spiritual blindness on Jericho Road.

I led our monthly observance and celebration of Communion. It was based on 1 John 5:1-6:

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His children too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey His commandments. Loving God means keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world ?  Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by His baptism in water and by shedding His blood on the cross – not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit – who is Truth – confirms it with His testimony.

The Major’s Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2008

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday December 07TH 2008:

  1. “Maps” – Falling Up
  2. “Outrage” – Capital Lights
  3. “I Give Up” – Stellar Kart
  4. “Sure Shot” – Run Kid Run
  5. “Say What You Will” – Ever Stays Red

“Maps” was the 6TH of 7 hits for Falling Up during the latter portion of the 2ND era of my chart. It spent the entire month of December of 2008 at # 1, and it was the middle of 3 straight # 1 hits for them in 2008 and 2009.

The word “Maps” does not appear in the song. Here’s the chorus:

The further I’m from you – the harder I try to exist.
Take these blinds from my eyes, and wake me from the inside.
Somebody tell me how did it come to this ?
Take these blinds from my eyes, and wake me – wake me from the inside.

Sounds like my story from the Summer of 2006 – just prior to salvation. I was far from God. I didn’t even know Him. But God knew me. He saw me struggling. He extended His hand. I reached for it. He rescued me. He saved me. He asked me to follow Him. I did. He took the blinds from my eyes. He woke me from the inside. Thank You God for saving my life !

God can do the same for you too. Here are two more lines from the song “Maps”:

Further out – maybe You could meet me where I am.
Further out – I know there is hope within Your hands.

God will meet you wherever you are. You are not too far away from the reach of God. If you’re not ready yet – then God will wait for you. He will be there for you when you are ready. It’s not too late to receive Him, as long as you are still living here on His creation. There is hope within His Hands.

It’s halftime. I’ll be back on Sunday and Monday with my remaining two blog posts for this weekend. Enjoy your Saturday. Thank You for your time.

# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Control (Somehow You Want Me)” – Tenth Avenue North

This weekend I celebrated my 31ST anniversary of living and working here in Homestead Florida, and I celebrated my 33RD anniversary of this hobby right here – compiling and creating my personal hit music chart. I also celebrated my 11TH anniversary here on WordPress.

This is the 94TH week of the 3RD era of my personal hit music chart. Micah Tyler’s “Even Then” is my 27TH # 1 hit of this 3RD era – and 451ST # 1 hit overall since that very first chart of 33 years ago.

There are 4 more charts in 2018, and then on New Year’s Day I’ll post a special chart – my Top 18 of 2018.
