# 1 One Year Ago This Week:
“No One Like Our God” – Lincoln Brewster

Welcome back Elevation Worship to my chart, and welcome to Miami !  You guys are performing LIVE in concert tonight on Miami Beach, and I unfortunately won’t be there. It’s a work night for me, and frankly I can’t deal with the heavy traffic between my home and Miami Beach – especially during Spring Break. You guys will be around for a long time, so I know that there will be future opportunities to see you perform LIVE. Have a great show. Glorify God. Save lives tonight !

Sanctus Real have the new # 1 smash on my chart this week with their long-running single “Confidence”. This chart is truly influenced by radio airplay. This song has been playing on the radio for almost 13 months now. It even crossed-over to mainstream rock stations where it was a Top 20 hit nationwide. But K-LOVE just started playing it a month ago, and as soon as they did so – I loved it. I hum and sing it long after I hear it on the radio. I love these lyrics:

So give me faith like Daniel – in the lion’s den
Give me hope like Moses – in the wilderness
Give me a heart like David – Lord be my defense
So I can face my giants with confidence

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. Enjoy this week my friends. I’m on Twitter @ChrisMDay, and I’m also the man behind the tweets for my church @LivingWatersHFL. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. AMEN.

My Top 5 Hits RETRO – SPECIAL

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). But not this week. This week it’s a SPECIAL #RETRO:

We’re just about 24 hours away from Saint Patrick’s Day on March 17TH. It’s the day when most people of Irish descent (like myself) observe and celebrate by wearing green, and eating green foods, and drinking green liquids, and talking Irish-like. I’m not that crazy. I just wear green. When I was a kid in school (many years ago) if you didn’t wear green on Saint Patrick’s Day then you were likely to get pinched over and over again by someone wearing a lot of green. That pretty much made everyone Irish for a day.

My family had a Manx cat named Fluffy for over 17 years. She was a brown cat, but sometimes when the light (or the sun) hit her fur just right she looked greenish. This much is certain:  Fluffy loved me more than any other human. When I wasn’t around she looked for me. During her final few years she “came back to life” whenever I came home to visit her.

I lived away from Fluffy in the south of England for exactly 2 years and 1 week from November 1985 to November 1987. I served in the United States Air Force at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. Saint Patrick’s Day was a big thing in England back then. I imagine it still is. I know it’s even bigger in Ireland and Northern Ireland. I never got to visit either nation while I was so close by in England. I saw a lot of England during those two years when I was 18, 19, and 20 years old. I also visited Scotland, Wales, The Netherlands, Belgium, and France. One day in the future I’ll make it to Ireland – maybe even the Isle Of Man – home of the Manx cat.

Back on my Top 50 personal hit music chart for the week ending Sunday March 29TH 1987 an unsuspecting Irish ditty about a great ship made its debut at # 47. It was a collaboration featuring The Pogues and The Dubliners titled “The Irish Rover”. They actually performed that song LIVE on BBC’s “Top Of The Pops”. They kicked-off the show that week. The following week it skyrocketed 40 notches on my chart from # 47 to # 7. It peaked at # 4 the week after that. It was a Top 10 U.K. pop smash, and a # 1 smash in Ireland. Here’s a video of a TV broadcast where the two bands joined forces and performed it LIVE before a studio audience:

It’s halftime. I’ll be back on Sunday and Monday with two more blog posts for this weekend. Enjoy your Saturday. Have fun. Make memories that will last a lifetime.

I’m 55 days away from seeing them LIVE in Tampa (along with Micah Tyler and Crowder). It’s gonna be an awesome show, and I’ll be singing and dancing from start to finish. 3 nights later I’ll see Hillsong United LIVE in concert in Estero Florida. That’s gonna be a wonderful week on this fantastic journey on the road !

I used to sing and dance the night away with the world, but now I sing and dance for Christ alongside His believers, His followers, His joyful celebrators. God’s Kingdom is truly alive !

My Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2009

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday March 08TH 2009:

  1. “Surrender Saved My Life” – This Beautiful Republic
  2. “Dead Man” – We As Human
  3. “Cross My Heart” – Nevertheless
  4. “Let’s Dance” – Hawk Nelson
  5. “The Last, The Lost, The Least” – Relient K

Nevertheless – what an awesome band that I grew up with as a baby Christian. They were very prominent on Christian radio, and as a result – the soundtrack of my life during those early years discovering and exploring who Jesus Christ was, is, and will be.

Nevertheless charted with 5 radio singles back then – “The Real” (peaked at # 24 in 2006), “Live Like We’re Alive” (# 2 for 4 weeks in 2007), “Time (To Let This Go)” (# 5 in 2007), “Sleeping In” (# 1 for 3 weeks in 2008), and “Cross My Heart” (# 3 in 2009). Hearing some of those early songs a dozen years later gives me goosebumps, and reminds me of just how far I’ve come since I first stumbled onto this fantastic journey.

Music has played an important role in my life of nearly 52 years. At the age of 39 God used music to lift me out of the slimy pit – out of the mud and mire. He set my feet on a rock – and gave me a firm place to stand. That’s why I share God’s Good News through His music.

It’s halftime. I’ll be back on Sunday and Monday with two more blog posts for this weekend. Enjoy your Saturday. Share the Good News with all who will listen.
