Back during my pre-salvation secular years I’d compile and publish an end-of-summer chart featuring the top songs of the summer based on weekly chart performance during the 15 Sundays starting with Memorial Day Weekend and ending with Labor Day Weekend here in the U.S. I’m bringing it back. Coming up on a special Tuesday September 04TH 2018 blog I’ll present my Top 10 songs of the Summer of 2018.

There were no new entries on my chart this week, but next week look for Phil Wickham to make his debut appearance with his new track “Living Hope”. I’ve heard it on K-LOVE a few times, and I really like the feel of it.

This concludes my 4 blogs this weekend. I’ll be back next Sunday and Monday to blog twice next weekend. Enjoy your long 4TH Of July holiday here in the U.S. Have fun. Be safe. Make memories that will last a lifetime. Go with God.

The Major’s Top 10 Hits – Week 71

Every Monday night I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday June 24TH 2018:

  1. “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship [# 1 last week / 8TH week on chart]
  2. “All In” – Matthew West [3 / 8TH]
  3. “Grace Got You” – MercyMe [4 / 12TH]
  4. “Dream Small” – Josh Wilson [5 / 4TH]
  5. “The Way (New Horizon)” – Pat Barrett [2 / 8TH]
  6. “Resurrection Power” – Chris Tomlin [7 / 20TH]
  7. “No Matter What” – Ryan Stevenson Ft. Bart Millard [8 / 12TH]
  8. “What A Friend” – Matt Maher [6 / 14TH]
  9. “Counting Every Blessing” – Rend Collective [10 / 2ND]
  10. “Good News” – Mandisa [- / 1ST]

Elevation Worship spends a 2ND week at #1 with their catchy singalong track “Do It Again”. It climbed to # 1 last week on an unpublished chart – dethroning Pat Barrett’s “The Way” after 5 weeks at # 1.

It looks like MercyMe’s “Grace Got You” will be the next # 1 smash high atop the Billboard Christian Airplay chart – perhaps as soon as tomorrow (Tuesday) when their new chart is revealed. It could very well top this chart next Monday – or later.

This concludes my 2 blogs this weekend. It’s back to 4 blogs next weekend on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday.

The Major’s Top 10 Hits – Week 69

Every Monday night I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday June 10TH 2018:

  1. “The Way (New Horizon)” – Pat Barrett [# 1 last week / 6TH week on chart]
  2. “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship [2 / 6TH]
  3. “All In” – Matthew West [4 / 6TH]
  4. “The Answer” – Jeremy Camp [3 / 4TH]
  5. “Dream Small” – Josh Wilson [10 / 2ND]
  6. “Grace Got You” – MercyMe [5 / 10TH]
  7. “No Matter What” – Ryan Stevenson Ft. Bart Millard [6 / 10TH]
  8. “What A Friend” – Matt Maher [7 / 12TH]
  9. “Resurrection Power” – Chris Tomlin [8 / 18TH]
  10. “Reckless Love” – Cory Asbury [9 / 6TH]

It’s the 69TH week of the 3RD life of this weekly hit music chart. The 1ST life didn’t quite make it 7 years from 1985 to 1992. The 2ND life lasted a lot longer – over 14 years – from 1995 to 2010. After a 7-year hiatus it was reborn again for a 3RD life on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017 (here in the U.S.). I don’t know if this 3RD life will last 7 or 14 years or more, but I’m having fun again doing it. I’ll keep it going for as long as the fun continues.

It’s also a part of my online ministry. It introduces some of you to some great positive music on the radio and online that you may not be aware of. Pick any song above, and search for it on YouTube. Listen to it. Listen to the words. See if it makes you feel good. See if it gives you hope. See if it leads you towards the light of God.

This concludes my 4 blogs this weekend. I’ll do it again this upcoming Thursday and Friday. After that this blog will take a rest for a week. There will be no blog next Monday, so the next new Top 10 chart will be revealed in 2 weeks on Monday June 25TH 2018.

The 2018 K-LOVE Fan Awards are now history. What a wonderful show it was on TBN last Thursday night. I live-tweeted during the show, and I managed 21 tweets during the 2-hour telecast. Those 21 tweets produced a combined 5,460 impressions and 58 likes to date. Those are good numbers considering it’s the first time I’ve ever pulled off such an event. I’ll do it again in the future !

Of course physically being at the K-LOVE Fan Awards (and the entire 3-day weekend event in Nashville) is on my wish list for the future. I’m not ruling out a road-trip to Nashville for the end of May 2019 !

I came real close (within minutes) of performing Pat Barrett’s “The Way (New Horizon)” LIVE – a cappella – for Praise & Worship at my church service this past Sunday morning. Due to a last-minute scheduling change I didn’t have to lead Praise & Worship, so that just gives me more time to rehearse the song at home so that when I do get the opportunity to sing that amazing song it’ll be even better than it would’ve been with little practice. (I also would’ve performed MercyMe’s “Flawless”. I love that song !)

This concludes my 4 blogs this weekend. I’ll do it again this upcoming Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest. Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to win souls for Christ. Enjoy this week.
