# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Lions” – Skillet

The 100TH week of the 3RD era of my personal hit music chart brings a brand new # 1 smash from a familiar artist. Chris Tomlin scores his 2ND # 1 smash. It’s the follow-up to His “Resurrection Power” which peaked at # 3 last summer which was the follow-up to his # 1 debut smash “Home” during the previous summer (2017).

We Are Messengers inch closer to the top with a track that has really grown on me over the past month-and-a-half. I’m really looking forward to seeing them LIVE in concert here in South Florida next month at the TobyMac show. I have a floor seat just 8 rows from the end stage near the middle. I’ll be required to sing and dance all night long !

Hillsong United’s latest “Not Today” reaches my Top 5 for the first time – in its 17TH week. Fun Fact:  It spent 10 non-consecutive weeks at # 7. I love when it comes on the radio. I always sing along to it.

Today marks the end of a full year in my return to WordPress. I left this platform behind during the early-2010s to tweet and put up a wall (on Facebook). This blog actually started on MySpace back in 2007, and then I modernized it to WordPress towards the end of that same year. This past year of blogging was my most satisfying (and most read – worldwide) since the peak of my original WordPress run a full decade ago. It was more active than every year of blogging during my ill-fated run on Facebook. I have all of you – who read this blog – who like it – who follow it – who tell their friends about it – to thank – for supporting this rejuvenation of my ministry. Let’s keep this forward momentum going. Let’s continue to glorify our everlasting God !

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 blog posts on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Lions” – Skillet

My first new weekly chart of 2019 looks pretty much like my last new weekly chart of 2018. There are no new entries, and only one hit makes upward momentum – “Maybe It’s OK” – the 3RD big hit in a row from We Are Messengers. Their “Magnify” hit # 2, and their “Point To You” hit # 3 in 2017. I get to see them LIVE in concert next month at the TobyMac show !

Next Monday night I’ll present my 100TH weekly chart of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017 – the night of the last TobyMac show that I attended. I’m not planning anything special. It’ll just be another new weekly chart. That’s the way this chart was born again. No fanfare. No planning. It just happened. God’s Glory.

# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Lions” – Skillet

It’s my 52ND and final weekly chart of 2018, as The Afters spend a 3RD week at the top with their latest “Well Done”. The Afters are the only act on my current chart who also charted during the previous “salvation” era of my chart from 2006 to 2010. In fact their long-running debut smash “Never Going Back To OK” was at # 9 on the final weekly chart of 2007. Interestingly Skillet (# 1 a year ago) also charted during that “salvation” era – with 6 hits !

NeedToBreathe’s “Forever On Your Side” becomes the 57TH hit on my weekly chart in 2018. Tomorrow – New Year’s Day – in a special bonus blog post – I’ll #CountUp my Top 18 hits of 2018 from # 1 to # 18. 3 hits on my current weekly chart will be on the Top 18 chart.

For those of you who check out my blog mostly on Mondays to track the hits I thank you so much for supporting Christian artists and their music. God used His music to rescue me and save me back in August of 2006. He used His music on the radio to pull me out of the darkness and bring me closer to Him.

2018 was a fun year of compiling my weekly charts, and I’ll keep it going every Monday night in 2019. It’s compiled all throughout the week, and it’s published after 6 PM U.S. East Coast time on Monday nights.

This is my 167TH and final blog post of 2018. I pray for a safe and secure New Year’s Eve for you, and we’ll hang out again all throughout 2019 here on “Saturday Night Retro” – one of my CountUp Ministries.
