The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club

It is now time for one of your favourite regular features here on ‘The Major’s Life Blog’, and that of course would be the continuing mini-series that is ‘The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club’.

But first this is ‘Today’ on NBC.

Actually let me rant for a minute here about a pet-peeve of mine. I arrived at Panda Express at 11:07 AM. They are supposed to open at 11:00 AM. ‘Supposed’ is the key word here. I’ve forgiven the fact that during the Lunch hour they typically have an extremely limited selection as part of their a-la-carte menu. I’m sure that they have a much bigger selection of delicious food items available for consumption later on in the day. I just wish I knew what they tasted like. I can’t forgive the fact that when they (or any restaurant for that matter) are supposed to be open for business at a certain time they are actually not so. Doors locked. No notice. No nothing. I took my business elsewhere. It may be awhile before I visit them again for Lunch. My time is precious.

I instead proceeded to Homestead’s # 1 place for Chinese Food, Fun, Music, and Authentic Kitchen Arguments In Chinese. Yes – You guessed it – It’s the Peking House !

I enjoyed a MASSIVE selection of Lunch items – all-you-can-eat-‘boofay’-style. It was all good. I walked away very happy … and full !

Today’s fortune cookie message is as cool as two of my former house cats (Fluffy and Boots):

‘Your maintain a sense of balance in the midst of great success.’

It’s grammatically incorrect; however, it’s right on the mark. But it hasn’t always been that way for me. I’ve had great success in the past (and couldn’t handle it effectively), and I’ve had great failures as well (and didn’t know how to get out of it). With God as my Director I can now deal with both success and failure appropriately. I’m learning from both scenarios. It’s not effective to dwell on either. It’s beneficial to constantly look forward and move forward on this journey – never accepting the status quo or what’s average. It’s all about doing what’s good and right – striving for success and not allowing failure to but the brakes on progress.

Since I’m so sick my son ordered from our favorite place Peking House. The won-ton soup was so good for my body and lets not forget the egg roll. A full for me served in bed.

So here is my fortune cookie of the week and please you are welcome to elaborate.
“YOU ARE CAUTIOUS IN SHOWING YOUR TRUE SELF YO OTHERS”
Now back to bed I go. Until my next drive-by.:)

I actually had two of their egg rolls for Lunch, and it was actually the low-point of an otherwise fine meal. The egg rolls were a bit undercooked and not as crunchilicious as they usually are.

I don’t think that fortune cookie message is appropriate for you. You DO show your true self to others, and that’s what I adore about you. I like the way you are. I’m pretty sure that God adores your true self as well, and that’s what really matters – to please Him. It took me 39 years to figure that out.

It has taken me 48 years to figure that out as well. Look how blessed we are. I know I was not ready to receive him 48 years ago, now all i do i do in HIS name and for HIM only.
Got to go back to bed rest. Keep my family and I in your prayers.
