If I were picking an ‘Upset Special’ for this weekend then this would be the one to pick. As a Redskins fan I don’t like either team. In fact I don’t care who wins this one. The Pack is back !

The Football Curse

I had an epiphany today. I realized that I am CURSED this season with all the teams I follow in College and Professional Football. The following is a list of teams I was MASSIVELY rooting for, that CHOKED BIGTIME in either their Bowl Game or in the (queue Jim Mora Sr.) PLAY-OFFS! Whaddaya mean, Playoffs??? PLAY-OFFS??? We need to win a GAME first!! Don’t talk to me about PLAYOFFS!
– Virginia Tech Hokies (my alma mater; my old home team)
– Florida Gators (my old home team part 2)
– Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (I love to vacation there)
– Ohio State Buckeyes (my old home team part 3)
– Washington Redskins (my old NFL home team)
– Jacksonville Jaguars (my old NFL home team part 2)
– Tampa Bay Buccanners (one of my favorite places to visit in FL)
– Cleveland Browns (my old NFL home team part 3- SHOULD have made playoffs)
– Indianapolis Colts (Peyton Manning is my favorite player, and quite funny- watch his SNL episode, as well as the 4000 humorous commercials starring him right now!)
– Dallas Cowboys (my current home team)
That is 10…count em TEN teams that I have followed in the past 2 months that have let me down TREMENDOUSLY. I have not endured this much letdown as a sports fan in my entire life!!!
So here is my great epiphany. I REALLY want the Packers to win the Super Bowl against the Patriots. Personally, I don’t want the Patriots to beat Shula’s record, especially since they were caught cheating, and since they play a little dirty with late hits, and because Tom Brady is very arrogant, and because their coach hasn’t cracked a smile since 1958. So, because I am OBVIOUSLY a huge jinx, I will NOT root for the Green Bay Packers.

I just purchased not one but TWO New England Patriots football jerseys – a Blue Tom Brady Jersey and a White Randy Moss jersey.
I did throw up a little bit in my mouth when I made the decision to purchase the jerseys. But I know that every team I have rooted for has LOST….CHOKED….been EMBARRASSED. So now, it’s MY TURN to play the system!!!!
