Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts

It’s Tuesday night again, so you know that I’ve got these items of interest on my mind:

1.  We’ve currently got our first significant rain event here in Homestead since last October. When all is said and done we could receive more rain between now and tomorrow night than we have over the past 103 days combined !  Let it rain !

2.  Yesterday (Monday) was the ‘best day ever’ here on this blog. We experienced more hits yesterday than on any previous day in our short 2+ month history here on WordPress. I thank everyone responsible for making that happen.

3.  The reports of the death of the breakfast sandwich at Starbucks have been greatly exaggerated. Actually they are going away, but they will be phased out gradually over a period of time through the latter portion of this year.

4.  Fun With Numbers:  The sum of my telephone number at work and my telephone number at home may equal the telephone number of a church in southeastern Pennsylvania.

5.  It’s not nice to make fun of or criticize the way someone looks or the way they dress. There is only one true Judge, and He loves everyone no matter how they look or what the’re wearing.

6.  Most people I know don’t like MSG in their Chinese Food. Most people I know have no clue what MSG stands for or what it really is.

7.  I finally filed my 2007 Income Tax Return with the IRS this past Saturday afternoon. It took about an hour to do so electronically. I’m getting a $469 refund. I like refunds !

8.  Two Homestead area Boy Scouts knocked on my front door this past Saturday morning selling their ‘Camp Card’. I bought two more. If they sold Krispy Kreme doughnuts like we did in 1978 then I would have bought several boxes of them.

9.  Someone recently asked me why I am a registered Republican. It’s because I generally agree with Republicans about 75 to 85 percent of the time. That was a no-brainer.

10.  I make my own Folgers instant coffee at work using Zephyrhills water. It’s rather tasty. I impress myself every morning.

Not only is the breakfast sandwich being phased out but, on February 26th from 5:30-8:30 PM 7,100 Starbucks shops will close to retrain every Barista how to make the perfect espresso shot in an effort to turnaround the faltering growth.

Further expansion will not be focused in the US. Rather, Howard Schultz CEO is looking abroad.
