Homestead Pavilion

Here’s what’s definitely going in to Phase 1 of the nearly 400,000 square foot shopping and entertainment complex that is currently being built north of Campbell Drive at Florida’s Turnpike in Homestead:

Circuit City
Kohl’s
Mattress Giant
Michaels
Ross
Sports Authority
Staples

Negotiations are currently ongoing for the following businesses:

LongHorn Steakhouse
Olive Garden
Petco

Most of these businesses plan to have their grand openings during the month of October 2008 (weather-permitting). A few of these businesses (such as Ross) will delay their eventual opening until the early portion of 2009.

I found you through the Life-pointe crew…and of course I heard about you through the volunteer-mercial. My name is Rebecca…I’m sorta new here. But this is good news about all of these stores opening up. Soon enough we won’t have to waste half a tank of gas to run errands. yay!

Hi Rebecca !
WELCOME to the blog. A lot of your Life Pointe Church family is here. Look around, stick around, and be sure to check back often.
CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a member of your church last Sunday at The Capri ! You went from 1ST-Time Guest to 2ND-Time Guest to Regular Attender to Member in a mere 4 weeks. You make my job at LPC so simple !
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Hey Rebecca how are you? So happy you made it to one of FAVORITE blog, there are so many that they all are winners..LOL….

See this is why I told you I don’t have a blog I have way tooooo much fun going and posting on everyone elses.;)

Love ya……

I don’t know about you….but I am EXTREMELY EXCITED for the MATTRESS GIANT that will be opening up!!!!!

AHHHH MATTRESS AHHHH GIANT AHHHHH!!

Not going to have a reason to leave Homestead. Can’t wait for Olive Garden, LOVE their pasta dishes with breadsticks!! Now moving on to the stores I will be going broke when Kohl’s and Michaels are open!! I am with Kelly, I hate going north just to pick up craft supplies.

I am most looking forward to Staples (that was easy), Kohl’s (expect great things), and Circuit City (simplicity guaranteed) of the non-restaurants. Of the two restaurants I would love to eat pasta at the Olive Garden on a regular basis with Ela and Andrew, Venus, Tammy, and Phil. I’ll also gladly eat at the LongHorn Steakhouse, and I think that I wouldn’t have to drag Paul H. there. He would already be there !

I’ll go to Olive Garden too!!!!! Anyone who knows me knows that is one of my all time favorite restaurants. I always complain about how hard it was to get to the ONE that I knew of in the area. Back in Toledo, OH it was the restaurant of my choice for birthdays!

Kelly,

Olive Garden is one of my favorites too. I really hope that’s the one that gets in. If not, I guess I won’t be far behind Chris and Paul at the steakhouse. 😎

V

It’s not a question of which of the two (Olive Garden or LongHorn Steakhouse) will ‘get in’. Both joints – as well as several other national-chain restaurants – are currently negotiating (or planning to) with the City Of Homestead. Homestead Pavilion is a multi-phase project. The buildings that you currently see there on-site are merely Phase 1 of the project.

Are there any plans for a book store??? When I would really never leave Hoestead on the weekend.

We could definitely support a Barnes & Noble or a Borders down here, but I’m not aware of any current plans for either of those wonderful stores to set up shop aqui en Homestead.

Well, LA Fitness & Bally’s are breaking ground in Homestead, just not sure when. I heard LA might be on the Eastside parcel on the Pavilion grounds…. it’s big enough to even have other parcels around it…..
Cheers.

Will be Happy to have:

Blue Sky food by the pound, Red Lobster, Versalles, Shells, La Carreta Restaurants. What about a cuban Bakery.

Mr. Garcia I agree that a Blue sky will be good but Homestead has enough Cuban restaurants and most don’t make it. As for a bakery there are plenty of those in every part of Homeatead, Pirnceton. and Florida City. Why don’t we get places that all cultures can eat enjoy thenselfs and is not “CUBAN” foood alll the time. I am a CUBAN/AMERICAN raised in the JEWISH community in New York and I would love to see a Jewish deli where I can get what I want.

Actually, cuban restaurants in Hometead are extremely successful because non-cuban latins love cuban food and culture, one reason there, and also since there is a large cuban population in Homestead, besides Mexican; Cubans pretty much take care of their own. Secondly, what “many” Cuban restaurants are in Homestead? You mean, Galindo’s, Mario’s, Casavana, Varaderos & that new one in Naranja? Ok, 5! Maybe 1 or 2 more around the whole vicinity. How many Mexican restaurants are there? Please!! So you can know, ‘La Carreta’ is coming to Homestead. (Locala TBA) A good name to have in southend being that Sedano’s is extremely successful in Homestead, again, by Cubans and non-cuban Latins alike. And by the way, there are many non-cuban food restaurants in Homestead that are simply owned by Cuban Americans, ie: Miyagi Sushi in Portofino Plaza, etc… And also Cuban restaurants (or other) that are owned by non-Cubans, ie: Cuba Bakery in Sky Vista Plaza, owned by a Colombian, friend of my father and who’s best-friend is Cuban, as well. So the influence is there… and shared as always. That’s what Cubans are all about,… good spirit! I love them.

So come on down, ‘Blue Sky’!!!

Cheers to my Homesteader’s!

LesTer.

I do agree in bringing more cultures of food, for sure! Jewish cuisine is exquisite and welcomed, to say the least. Let’s hope we influence that avenue, as well. 🙂

Cheers.

Are there any plans for a Navarro store and a Dairy Queen ice cream and a dollar store.

Sports Authority? Why not Dick’s SportingGoods. Homestead are getting stores from the north that city of Miami don’t have; Lowe’s and Kohl’s. This is good because people from Miami would come to Homestead instead of traveling to Broward or Monroe.

In addition, I hope we get Toy R’us or Babies R’us, Christian Bookstore and a good bouffet restaurant. I’m tired of traveling to Kendall and South Miami for my likes.

Actually, they are opening a Kohl’s in Hialeah and Kendall. And Miramar already has there’s open.

L.

Navarro will be opening in Crystal Lakes Plaza on Campbell and 147th Avenue. There will be a US Century Bank built on an out parcel. Navarro will be anchor of the plaza.

It would be nice if they would have some non-latin restaurants also. A little of everything would be great! Homestead has many Cubans & Mexicans but keep in mind theirs also many Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and more… Cuisine from these countries are also very rich!

Semi-Latin

Definitely… not only the foods but so many rich cultures. Every culture is rich, every culture comes from somewhere and has history, I think that is beautiful… so the food is part of that history. I want some English/Australian foods, and some great Italian, German, etc… There are a couple of Colombian and Puerto Rican places in Homestead i’ve known… pretty ok foods but not impressed by service. The Caribbean and the rest of Latin America are just two different worlds when it comes to food, haha 😉 But it’s all good!! Come on in, the tables almost set!!!

No more Cubans and Mexicans restaurant there too many in Dade county. I went to Orlando and had so many good American restaurants for the tourist. Which is good here in Homestead because got the Keys alot of people from the north of U.S. visit. In additon, Homestead needs a Hooters, Nathan’s and a new Pizza Hut restaurant the one in Florida City is old and gets too packed.

We really need a bookstore in Homestead. If we got a bookstore, I would be soooooooooooooo happy!!!

I agree, Barnes and Noble or Borders would be awesome! I’d love LA Fitness to open on the huge parcel east of the Pavilion property, I heard it’s coming anyways but not sure where. Also heard Bally’s was breaking ground. Though, I know for certain the first one to break ground would be 24 Hour Fitness. I heard a Dave & Buster’s is coming to the City. I know a KIA Dealership and Hyundai are opening in Homestead. And rumored is the super target just east of the Oasis Plaza, south, across the Baptist HH. Also heard 137avenue has been zoned as a Commerical/Retail corridor of East Homestead, that leading to Canal Drive. I heard we’re getting a Chicken Kitchen or Grill on Campbell just south of the soon coming Portofino Parc, residences. I know a huge shopping plaza is building on Canal and 162 avenue, on the Villages intersection.

Cheers to my Homesteaders!

Salúd.

any updates as to restaurants coming? I saw on the web site advertising for homestead pavilion that olive garden and longhorn are in, they are proposing for red lobster. Any more word on the on the border? This is the only website I have seen that mentioned. Anyone heard of a big lots supposedly on Cambell and 137 ave? What aside from the panda chinese place is opening to eat near the new best buy? Chicken Kitchen would be awesome down here. One more question, anyone know of a good chines restaurant in Homestead. I mean good, not ok. Where the honey chicken is real pieces of chicken and not a speck of meat with 5 oz. of batter? Thanks.

Anyone knows is Simon putting a mall in Homestead? A new sign install at Speedway Blvd and Campbell Dr. for commercial built alot of land to built a mall there. The outlet mall in Florida City looks isolated and half empty. The Nike Store and Carter’s is the only bussinesses that keeping the mall alive.

have any one heard anything about, this mew water park in back of homestead sr. high school

This colum has been untouched in a while, yet we have a few good new restaurants actually going up. Big Cheese, Olive Garden, Longhorn. What happened to the Outback, On the Border and Red Lobster. Have any of those ideas taken off or are they grounded? Buffalo Wild Wings just opened up at Southland Mall. Not bad.

Will like to Bahamas Breeze, Navarro Pharmacy and a Blue Sky, also a Wines and Tapas place like in the Gables, Miami areas.

any news about the barnes and Noble? LA Fitness? Super target outside of the Pavillion? We really need to give some life to this blog…. please don’t let it die, there is no other way for us to find out about what’s happening and opening out there.

Any idea about the next phases for the Pavillion? what will they have?

Regards

Eduardo V.

From what I have heard, forget the Super Target. The one Southland mall is supposed to be renoveated in 2010. Barnes and Noble or any other bookstore, that too can be a way off. I heard that a study was put together which determined the educational backgrounds and population of the Homestead area would not make a large bookstore viable. I have not heard anything about a gym not coming to homestead. the Ballys is Southlans is doing well and I am sure that more gyms will slowoly creep up in the area. Any new news is welcome.

Join the Homestead Chamber for a business event at the Longhorns at the Homestead Pavilion. Wednesday, 9/30 at 5:30 pm.

Hello Major,

We were very excited to see a blog started for Homestead Pavilion. To introduce myself, I am the Operations Manager for Homestead Pavilion. I’m sure you have noticed that Staples has opened for business as well as Beautiful Nails. Dollar Tree and Red Lobster have also opened recently. We are thrilled to bring them on board. We have many exciting things coming to this center and I will keep you posted as soon as things are finalized. I hope you were able to visit the center during the holidays! What did you think of our Holiday decor? I was particularly fond of the uplights around the circle. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support and we will continue to strive to bring new and exciting tenants to your neighborhood.

Thanks Roger, please don’t let the Pavilion go south, we definitely need it. At this point I think it has been demonstrated that if we have restaurants and stores in the area we will definitely go an spend our money there.

Any idea on future stores or restaurants to open? what would come up at the parcel next to the red lobster? is that still planned to be a bank?

Nice work with the holiday decoration… it is good to see a place interested in the looks.

Please put a Borders with a Starbucks next to a kids playground at the Pavilion and Toy R Us or Baby R Us along with it too. Thanks

Van,

Thank you for your comments, I will pass this on to our leasing team. As a Mom I would love to see a Toys R Us. The Homestead Pavilion is happy to announce that TD Bank and Sonic will be joining our line up shortly.

Yes please, the starbucks would be a nice addition and will definitely bring lots of people to the shopping center. Also the playground would be great for us who have little kids.

Forget the playground Homestead got plenty of those around the city. What the pavilion needs a Dandy Bear or Chucky Cheese.
