  1. “Nobody (But Jesus)” – Casting Crowns Ft. Matthew West
    [# 1 last week / 10TH week on chart]
  2. “Fear No More” – Building 429 [2 / 10TH]
  3. “I’m Gonna Let It Go” – Jason Gray [4 / 9TH]
  4. “Burn The Ships” – for King & Country [5 / 3RD]
  5. “Up Again” – Dan Bremnes [7 / 2ND]
  6. “Echo” – Elevation Worship Ft. Tauren Wells [6 / 3RD]
  7. “Yes I Will” – Vertical Worship [3 / 8TH]
  8. “Dead Man Walking” – Jeremy Camp [8 / 12TH]
  9. “Good Grace” – Hillsong UNITED [9 / 5TH]
  10. “Fighting For Me” – Riley Clemmons [- / 1ST]

# 1 One Year Ago This Week:
“Only Jesus” – Casting Crowns

# 1 Two Years Ago This Week:
“The Gospel” – Ryan Stevenson

I am back with my first new published chart since 3 weekends ago, but while my online activity was on hiatus – my weekly chart remained very active behind the screens. “Burn The Ships”, “Up Again”, and “Echo” debuted while I was on-the-road, and “Good Grace” re-entered my chart (after previously falling-off). “Fighting For Me” is new this week.

I say “on-the-road” because I was on a road-trip from my home in South Florida to my families’ homes in North Texas, and then back again. That’s 2,990.5 miles over the course of 13 days and 6 states. I listened to a lot of K-LOVE on-the-road. Before the road-trip I had noted all of the various radio frequencies between here and there (some 14 of them), and I tuned-in to each of them. I listened to far more K-LOVE on this road-trip than I usually do when I’m at home. There were just a few gaps along the way with no K-LOVE coverage in Central Florida and North Texas – so in these areas I listened to other great radio stations such as The Joy FM, 94.9 KLTY, and WAY-FM.

Building 429 nearly unseated Casting Crowns and Matthew West at # 1 this week, as “Fear No More” was probably the most-heard song on my road-trip. I think I heard I heard it about every 3 hours or less for 13 days. It’s a really good road song, but ever since I returned back home again earlier this week “Nobody (But Jesus)” seems to be picking up steam again in airplay, and I keep singing along to it every time I hear it. Both songs remain at their respective chart positions for a 7TH consecutive week.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. Enjoy this week my friends. I’m on Twitter @ChrisMDay, and I’m also the man behind the tweets for my church @LivingWatersHFL. May the God of hope fill you completely with joy and peace as you trust in Him.

Sunday Scripture

Today I returned home – where I belong – to my church family for the first time in 3 weeks. It was great to be able to praise, worship, and celebrate our God corporately with my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Today I led Communion. Here’s the full manuscript for today’s Communion:

You know we often think of worship to Christ as singing songs of praise to Him at the start of every service. But worship is so much more than singing songs.

Worship is also what happens before and after we sing songs together. Worship is driving – or riding – or walking to this place that we call home on Sunday mornings. Worship is fellowship with family before the music begins a few moments after 11. Worship is playing the guitar – for Christ. Worship is singing out loud – for Christ. Worship is raising our arms – for Christ. Worship is clapping our hands – for Christ. You see we worship Christ – our Savior – and no other.

Worship is our Pastor leading us in prayer. It’s our Pastor preaching God’s Word.

And we continue our worship to Christ, as we transition to Communion. We observe and celebrate Communion once a month here at Living Waters. Communion must never be routine. It must always be a special occasion. It must be solemn. It must be intimate. It must be intentional.

This is where we – as brothers and sisters of God’s church family – walking together on this journey – this is where we make a commitment to continue to praise, to worship, to honor, to love, to move closer to, and to strengthen our Communion with our living and loving God.

He’s the One that’s always there for us. He’s the One that rescued us from the dead. He’s the One that saved us from the world. He’s the One that saved us from ourselves. He’s the One that took our punishment for us. He’s the One that died for us. He’s the One that gave us life !

And so we observe, rejoice, and celebrate – this believer’s Communion – this agreement – of Creator, Christ, and Spirit as One. It’s open for everyone who hears me – everyone who believes that:

God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life – shedding His blood. (Romans 3:25a-b)

I invite this church family to accept these elements that have been prepared – this bread and this juice. You’ll come up, receive them, take them back to your seat – and remain standing (if you can). After everyone has received them – we’ll accept them together.

(Please come forth at this time.)

Communion

Let us take this bread, and know that it represents the sacred body of Christ that was given up for us on that cross. We take this bread in remembrance of Him.

Let us take this juice, and know that it represents the precious blood of Christ that was shed for us on that cross. We take this juice in honor of Him.

Our God Himself is righteous. He is fair and just. He declares us sinners to be right in His sight when we believe in Christ – and repent to Him. Repentance is worship.

Let us pray. Thank You God for being here with us – at this time – in this place. Thank You for always accepting us – despite our past – despite ourselves. Thank You Lord for Your awesome presence in our lives – and Your intentional purpose for our lives. May all of Your beautiful blessings and marvelous miracles constantly strengthen our faith in You, increase our love towards others, and unify our hearts and our souls. We honor You Lord. We praise You Lord. We worship You Lord. We celebrate You Lord – on this day – and on every day. And we confirm this by saying – AMEN.

My Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2009

Every Friday I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 10, 15, 20, or 30 years ago this weekend (rotating each week).

It’s the 1ST Friday of the month, so I go back 10 years ago. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday October 04TH 2009:

  1. “Forget And Not Slow Down” – Relient K
  2. “Where To Start” – Philmont
  3. “Trying” – Eleventyseven
  4. “Rolling With The Punches” – Ruth
  5. “Vehement” – Showbread

Well my chart certainly rocked exactly a decade ago – especially with Showbread sitting at # 5. It was a cool song to hear on the radio – and to crank-up loud in my car while cruising around the city.

I’ve got to get myself to forget myself.

It’s halftime my friends. I’ll be back on Sunday and Monday with two more blog posts for this weekend. Enjoy your Saturday. Thanks for going RETRO with me !

Homestead Homecoming

I’m back from vacation, and this blog is back from its 2½-week hiatus. This is the 13TH season premiere of this blog – a blog that started on Myspace in 2007 towards the end of my first year of salvation in Christ, went to WordPress a few months later, drifted over to Facebook for a few years, and then returned back here to WordPress almost 2 years ago.

I returned home to Homestead Florida after one of the longest road-trips of my life – a 2,990.5-mile / 13-day / 12-night / 6-state / 2-time-zone road-trip to and from North Texas to visit family and friends along the way. It was great to see and catch-up with everyone !

It’s great to be back home again. I went back to work today – almost 10 hours of it. I even loaded-up on groceries at Publix after work. (That’s my favorite store in the world.) I’m especially looking forward to reuniting with my church family this Sunday. I’ll be leading Communion. Life is good. God is great !

All of my regular weekend blog series are back for a new season. Tomorrow (Friday) I’ll go RETRO – back to 2009. On Sunday I’ll share God’s Word with Scripture. On Monday it’s my brand new Top 10 hit music chart. I blog every Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday with new blogs going up at 3 AM EDT (U.S. East Coast time) – except for Sunday which posts later in the day. In-between blogs I tweet occasionally @ChrisMDay.
