Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

1.  You’ve got to arrive mighty early at the movie theatre on Sunday mornings to get there before Anne. She already had half of her car unloaded into the main lobby before I arrived there just a couple of minutes after 7:30 AM.

2.  The new layout and configuration of the Information Booth, Information Table, and Sales Table ‘on the right’, and Kids Life Registration Table ‘on the left’ worked out brilliantly and got rave reviews on the right, on the left, and in the middle. It really opened up the entrance leading to the Pier Hallway. The bottleneck congestion is no longer an issue.

3.  I’m not naming names, but if anyone was hiding behind Curtain # 1 ‘on the right’ then they were probably eating Dunkin Donuts, cherry turnovers, and bagels with cream cheese. Anne needs to acquire a registered copyright trademark for her out-of-this-world guava paste cream cheese. J.T. is still thinking of a good name for it.

4.  Pastor Travis talked all about ‘Vision For The People Of God’. You’ve got to see well beyond how things are to how they can, should, and need to be. If it’s not right then let’s make it right. Where do we get this vision from ?  There’s only one legitimate answer to that my friend. The Lord Almighty Above provides us with the vision, and He expects us to use the tools and talents that He gave us to get there.

5.  TODAY is my 47TH Sunday as a regular attender of Life Pointe Church, and on this 323RD day I took that next big step of my ‘Rebirthing’ by officially signing and dating on the dotted line of the Life Pointe Church Membership Covenant. I am now an official member of my Church. It is a truly distinct honour that will never be taken lightly. It is an absolute unification and commitment to God and my fellow church members that will never waver. It will only intensify.

Wonderful Week At Work: Completed

I got off from work at 11:30 AM this morning, and it was the completion of another wonderful week.

The leadership of my building (including me) worked on a major time-consuming project all this week – a grande PowerPoint Presentation that was pretty much all about us and the work that we do. We did it in preparation of a ‘welcome briefing’ for one of our new Commanders on base. That briefing took place this morning in our building’s Conference Room. It began at precisely 9 AM, and it lasted for nearly 2½ hours. I think that we totally blew away our new Commander with the show, and he was most appreciative of the effort. At one point during the briefing the top guy of our building unexpectedly told me to stand up, and then he proceeded to shower me with praise upon praise for a couple of minutes regarding many of my various accomplishments since arriving in that building just a little over 4 months ago. That made me feel so great !

After 20 years I’ve finally found a place on base for me where I actually look forward to going to work each and every morning. At the end of each work day I always look back at it feeling sincerely happy and totally satisfied that I gave it my all, and that my fellow co-workers truly appreciated what I did for them during the course of the day. I finally have co-workers who consistently respect me for my technical expertise and experience.

I am so truly greatful to God to be living in this current life of mine – the Renaissance of my personal life – as well as the Renaissance of my professional career. There’s no looking back now to what my life and career used to be. It’s all about what it is in the now, and this now shall continue infinitely as long as I continue to progress forward on God’s fantastic journey for me !

My Fantastic Journey: It’s In The Lyrics

“Never Going Back To OK” – The Afters

It’s not the end, but it feels like it is.
I’m waking up like I’m back from the dead.
I’m stepping out, and I feel so afraid.
But as long as I’m moving it’s all right.

I feel alive, and it hurts for a change.
No looking back.
It’s hard to believe that I was cool.
With the days that I wasted.
Complacent and tasteless and bored.
But that was yesterday.

We’re never going back to OK (OK).
We’re never going back to easy.
We’re never going back to the way it was.
We’re never going back to OK.

This discontent – like a slap in the face.
Of mediocre – I’ve had enough of this place.
This party’s over, and I’m moving away.
From the frills of your Beverly Hills.
That was yesterday.

We’re never going back to OK (OK).
We’re never going back to easy.
We’re never going back to the way it was.
We’re never going back to OK.

We’re here to stay.
This is our time.
Our only life.
Our chance to live.

We’re never going back to OK (OK).
We’re never going back to easy.
We’re never going back to the way it was.
We’re never going back to OK.

Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

1.  We had ‘Logistical’ problems with the new L-shaped layout of the Information & Sales tables this morning, so we won’t be doing it that way next Sunday morning. I came up with an entirely different idea for the two tables as well as the GIANT Information Booth itself, I allowed Pastor Paul to take credit for it, we discussed it with Anne, and it’s a ‘GO’ for next week. It should look wonderful for next Sunday morning !

2.  Terry has a new Kodak camera, but she doesn’t quite know how to effectively use it yet. Two words: ‘Owner’s Manual’.  Come back next Sunday morning ready to take 100 pictures.

3.  Nancy brought in an old photo album of pictures taken back during the Summer Of 1993 featuring the old Homestead Church Of God crew. It was fun to see how Pastor J.T., Anne, Travis, Phil, Bill, Arlene, and Nancy looked over 14 years ago.

4.  For the first time since Sunday October 14TH Pastor Travis gave the teaching in a Sunday morning service that was attended by me. Back on that Sunday Travis had a weak voice, but on this Sunday his voice was strong and the words of his message were powerful. Words matter. They determine our direction in Life. Our words should always be congruent with our confession of faith in Jesus Christ. Our words can shape nations, but they can also shatter hopes and dreams. We must always choose our words wisely. Others are always listening. They should be able to easily hear God in our words and see God in our actions.

5.  What’s more beautiful to my ears than the sounds of over 100 of us singing loudly and proudly to the joyful music led by Jesse, Reina, and the band during Praise & Worship ?
