My 111-Hour Holiday Weekend

Here are a few things that I did today on the first full day of my long holiday weekend:

  • I went to Dunkin Donuts to get myself a medium coffee with cream, sugar, and blueberry flavouring. Good Stuff !
  • I took my car to my Saturn dealership to get its 3,000-mile preventive maintenance done on it. I was shocked to find out that my Saturn dealership is now a Saturn / Buick / Pontiac / GMC dealership. That’s not right.
  • I went to The Living Word Christian Bookstore in Cutler Bay for the first time ever. I spent nearly an hour inside that store. It looks like I’m going to be a regular customer there from now on. I love that place !
  • I went to Southland Mall for a rare visit, and I saw another movie today at the Regal Cinemas 16 there. I saw “Juno“. It was a great movie, and I now see why it’s nominated for so many awards – plus it’s a box office smash. I also looked around and dreamed a little bit while I was in the theatre. I wonder what Life Pointe Church would be like if it were held in this theatre ?

My 111-Hour Holiday Weekend

Here’s how I spent the first two hours of my long holiday weekend:

  • I spent $3.119 per gallon on regular gas filling up my car at Racetrac. That’s a new all-time record high for me – surpassing the previous record high of $3.099 per gallon set on 4 separate occasions in 2006 and 2007. Luckily I only fill up my car with gas about once every 2½ to 3 weeks. It’s cool to to live and work within 7 miles of each other. Just remember that while gas prices may be at an all-time record high here stateside we are still one of the TOP 10 cheapest countries in the entire world as far as that’s concerned.
  • I saw a movie at the Flagship Cinemas 14 here in Homestead for the first time since last September. I saw “One Missed Call” which falls under the category of ‘horrifying bonechilling thriller’. I wasn’t too scared. I was more confused at the plot than I was scared. There were 3 of us in that theatre. The other two giggled occasionally. I was too confused to even giggle.
  • I went to McDonald’s after the movie to get myself a large hazelnut iced coffee and two apple pies. It’s the first time that I’ve ever gotten one of their iced coffees. It was refreshingly delicious, and I think that I’ll be back for more in the future.

Starbucks On A New Year’s Day Morning

Starbucks Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha

PEPPERMINT WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA

This beverage is a festive combination of our signature espresso and steamed milk with creamy white chocolate and lively peppermint flavors.

I also enjoyed the oven-toasted Sausage, Egg, & Cheddar Sandwich.

New Year’s Eve Plans

I was officially off the road and out of my car at precisely 2:51 PM EST this afternoon, and that’s it for 2007. I drove just a little over 7,500 miles this year – 37.5% below the national average of 12,000 miles.

My New Year’s Eve plans for tonight consist of me enjoying a peaceful and quiet night of television and computer in the safety, sanity, and comfort of my living room. I will reflect back at 2007 – a year that was filled with the highest of highs and minimal lows. It was indeed the greatest year of my entire Life – thanks to this fantastic journey following Him.
