My Top 10 Hits – Week 181

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday August 02ND 2020:

2018 – “Dream Small” – Josh Wilson

This week marks a milestone for my weekly chart. With this 181ST chart week it surpasses the complete 180-week run of the “Salvation Era” of my chart that began on August 27TH 2006 and ended on January 31ST 2010 (3 years and 5 months).

The “Salvation Era” began on the Sunday after my Lord + Savior Jesus Christ rescued and saved me almost 14 years ago. He used music to lift me out of the pit of despair – out of the mud and the mire. He gave me a new song to sing – a hymn of praise to our God. This chart – already in its 21ST year of existence at the time – immediately flipped from Mainstream Top 40 – to Christian Top 40. It lasted 180 weeks before waning. (This chart went on a 7-year hiatus after that.)

This current “Resurrection Era” (or “K-LOVE Era”) continues on into the future. I enjoy sharing the music each week that I’m currently singing along to and dancing to in praise and worship to my God. I sing and dance for Him.

Zach Williams scores his 5TH consecutive Top 5 smash over the past 3 years with his latest “There Was Jesus” – a duet with Dolly Parton that the two recorded together in the studio last Summer. It looks like it’s headed to # 1 nationally at U.S. Christian radio. It’s already # 1 at small-market stations.

Colton Dixon returns to my chart for the first time in nearly 3½ years, and it’s already his highest-charting hit ever, as “Miracles” makes its debut at # 7. Here’s the official music video of this catchy track:

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. I’m also on Twitter and Flickr.

My Top 10 Hits – Week 180

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday July 26TH 2020:

# 1 This Week In:
2019 – “Raise A Hallelujah” – Bethel Music
2018 – “Dream Small” – Josh Wilson
2017 – “Wonder” – Hillsong UNITED

My # 3 artist of the past 180 weeks – Chris Tomlin – scores his 5TH hit with his latest – “Who You Are To Me” – a Nashville collaboration with country group Lady A. It’s a song that’s breaking-out on Christian radio from coast-to-coast, and it has an excellent opportunity to crossover onto country radio as well. I’ll be monitoring that. I love when a song plays at multiple formats on the radio.

♫ You’re amazing faithful love’s open door
When I’m empty You fill me with hunger for more
Of Your mercy Your goodness
Lord You’re the air that I breathe
That’s who You are to me
Who You are to me ♫

The Afters fall off my chart after 26 weeks with their # 1 smash (for 6 weeks) – “I Will Fear No More”. It’s currently my # 5 hit overall out of 168 over the past 180 weeks.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

My Top 10 Hits – Week 179

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday July 19TH 2020:

TW LW WKS SONG TITLE ARTIST / SITE

# 1 This Week In:
2019 – “Prize Worth Fighting For” – Jamie Kimmett
2018 – “Grace Got You” – MercyMe
2017 – “Wonder” – Hillsong UNITED

It’s another active chart week, as I AM THEY out of Carson City Nevada score their first # 1 smash on my chart. It’s my 49TH # 1 smash overall since this chart was resurrected on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017.

I AM THEY get their name from Scripture in The Gospel According To John. In Jesus’ final prayer for His disciples here in the world before His suffering and death – He looked up to Heaven, and He prayed. He said that:

My prayer is not for the world, but for those You have given Me – because they belong to You. All who are Mine belong to You, and You have given them to Me, so they bring Me glory. Now I am departing from the world. They are staying in this world, but I am coming to You. Holy Father – You have given Me Your name. Now protect them by the power of Your name so that they will be united just as We are. (John 17:9-11 NLT)

I am they. We are they. We belong to our Holy Father. We belong to His Holy Son. We belong to the Holy Spirit. Let’s be united in our God – Creator, Christ, and Spirit as One !

My Top 10 Hits – Week 178

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday July 12TH 2020:

3 2 9 Amadeo (Still My God) Ryan Stevenson

# 1 This Week In:
2019 – “Prize Worth Fighting For” – Jamie Kimmett
2018 – “Grace Got You” – MercyMe
2017 – “Wonder” – Hillsong UNITED

Good movements up and down on my chart this week with just 2 non-movers – including Jeremy Camp – still at # 1 for a 3RD week with “Keep Me In The Moment”. Nationally it’s # 2 with a bullet at big-market Christian radio, and it’s # 1 for a 5TH week in a row at small-market Christian radio.

I AM THEY out of Carson City Nevada have their 2ND # 2 hit with “No Impossible With You”. It’s already run its course nationally, but it’s an active hit that’s currently in heavy rotation on K-LOVE. The same was true for their previous # 2 hit – “My Feet Are On The Rock”. It was released to radio in 2018, but it didn’t become a K-LOVE and #CountUp hit until February, March, and April of 2019.

Finally there’s Cory Asbury. I tweeted on Sunday morning that “I’m resting my voice and hydrating my throat. In addition to preaching today – I’m also singing “The Father’s House” by @CoryAsbury. Cory then replied “Hahaha. Gear up, bro.” I did just that, and I sang the song from start to finish solo and a cappella.

Cory’s got a new single out now called “Sparrows”. Check it out:

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.
