Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday March 16TH 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

Today is the 2ND Anniversary of when I closed on my dream home in my dream neighborhood in my dream part of Florida (Sebring in Highlands County). I actually spent my first night in my dream home the night before (on March 15TH 2023), and then the next day I, my Real Estate Agent, and the sellers met at the Title company to transfer the home to me. Yet another dream came true on that day. God’s miracles continue in abundance.

In other news – my next sermon now has a title – “Ungodly & Sinful”. It’s from 1 Timothy 1:9:

For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious – who are ungodly and sinful – who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy – who kill their father or mother or commit other murders.

I’m making great progress on my next sermon. It’s about half-done, and I’m also working on the PowerPoint Presentation (.PPT) that goes along with it simultaneously. It’s a different strategy for me. Normally I write the entire sermon and then I wait until I get the call to preach before I work on the .PPT. In this case – the .PPT is actually inspiring me to write more of my sermon. The plan is to complete both the sermon and the .PPT, and then immediately begin working on the next sermon on the next part of 1 Timothy 1.

Tomorrow is Saint Patrick’s Day. Enjoy the day. Make it a good one. Make it a day that you can look back at fondly in the future.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know – then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday March 09TH 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

Exactly 10 years ago today – actually on Sunday March 08TH 2015 – I made my first appearance at Living Waters Full Gospel Church in Homestead Florida. I met everyone there for the very first time – aside from a longtime friend and former coworker who attended the small church. It was a much different atmosphere and change-of-pace than my existing church at the time, and I liked it a lot. I went back to my longtime (8-year) church a mile down the road the next Sunday to pretty much say good-bye to everyone who I cared about. The Sunday after that – I was back at Living Waters, and it became my new home church. I began leading Communion every month starting in August 2016, and I began preaching 2 months later. I didn’t go to Living Waters to lead Communion or preach sermons. The Pastor asked me to do so. He started asking later in 2015, but I turned him down. He asked me again the following year, and I accepted and followed the call to do so.

I thought I would be at my first church forever, but God had other plans for me. I knew I would not be at my second church forever, as I was already thinking ahead to retirement and moving away. I ended up moving away a year before I retired – working mostly from my new home during that final year. But I was at my second church longer than my first church.

Today I look back at 10 Glorious years at Living Waters. It started a rejuvenation process in my fantastic journey after a couple of years of burning out and stalling. I’ll continue to visit whenever I’m in town, and preach whenever I’m invited to do so.

I also look ahead to my fourth church – Highlands Community Church in Sebring Florida. I’ve been part of my new church family for 18 months now, and I believe that I’ll be with this church family forever. But God has the final say:

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster – to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday March 02ND 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

My trip down to Homestead (Florida) and back last Sunday and Monday was successful. I preached my sermon “63 & 34” to my former church family, and LIVE Praise & Worship music beforehand was Glorious.

After church service 5 of us enjoyed food and fellowship at a busy Texas Roadhouse.

And so it’s on to my 64TH sermon. It’ll be the first of a multiple sermon verse-by-verse series. I’m reading, studying, writing, praying about, and eventually preaching from Paul’s first letter to Timothy. I’ll cover the first 11 verses in my next sermon.

This letter is from Paul – an apostle of Christ Jesus – appointed by the command of God our Savior and Christ Jesus – who gives us hope. I am writing to Timothy – my true son in the faith. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace. (1 Timothy 1:1-2 NLT)

It’s a great time to be alive and locally active – physically and socially – here in Sebring Florida, as I enter my 2ND year of retirement following a nearly 39-year career with the USAF.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday February 23RD 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

This morning I’m driving 180 miles southward from my current home to my former home. I’m preaching at my former home church today. My sermon is titled “63 & 34”, and it’s about eliminating the noise, talking to God, and listening for His voice through the storm. I wrote much of it during the extended power outage caused by Hurricane Milton in October here in Central Florida. Scripture is from Isaiah 43:2-3a, Deuteronomy 31:8, Philippians 4:6-7, John 8:47, Revelation 2:7a, Exodus 14:14, Acts 1:8a, James 1:19, and Proverbs 17:27-28.

As for the “63 & 34” title – it represents the 63 hours and 34 minutes that I had no electricity at my home during and after Hurricane Milton. That extended power outage inspired and encouraged the sermon that I wrote. It also happens to be my 63RD sermon in Homestead. That’s not a coincidence, as I don’t believe in coincidences. It’s an intention. Everything God does is intentional.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.
