Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday March 02ND 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

My trip down to Homestead (Florida) and back last Sunday and Monday was successful. I preached my sermon “63 & 34” to my former church family, and LIVE Praise & Worship music beforehand was Glorious.

After church service 5 of us enjoyed food and fellowship at a busy Texas Roadhouse.

And so it’s on to my 64TH sermon. It’ll be the first of a multiple sermon verse-by-verse series. I’m reading, studying, writing, praying about, and eventually preaching from Paul’s first letter to Timothy. I’ll cover the first 11 verses in my next sermon.

This letter is from Paul – an apostle of Christ Jesus – appointed by the command of God our Savior and Christ Jesus – who gives us hope. I am writing to Timothy – my true son in the faith. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace. (1 Timothy 1:1-2 NLT)

It’s a great time to be alive and locally active – physically and socially – here in Sebring Florida, as I enter my 2ND year of retirement following a nearly 39-year career with the USAF.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know – then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday February 23RD 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

This morning I’m driving 180 miles southward from my current home to my former home. I’m preaching at my former home church today. My sermon is titled “63 & 34”, and it’s about eliminating the noise, talking to God, and listening for His voice through the storm. I wrote much of it during the extended power outage caused by Hurricane Milton in October here in Central Florida. Scripture is from Isaiah 43:2-3a, Deuteronomy 31:8, Philippians 4:6-7, John 8:47, Revelation 2:7a, Exodus 14:14, Acts 1:8a, James 1:19, and Proverbs 17:27-28.

As for the “63 & 34” title – it represents the 63 hours and 34 minutes that I had no electricity at my home during and after Hurricane Milton. That extended power outage inspired and encouraged the sermon that I wrote. It also happens to be my 63RD sermon in Homestead. That’s not a coincidence, as I don’t believe in coincidences. It’s an intention. Everything God does is intentional.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday February 16TH 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I finally finished my sermon for next Sunday (including PowerPoint Presentation) titled “63 & 34”. It’s all about God’s guidance, direction, wisdom, and voice – through the storm. When the manmade noise is silenced all around – you can hear His whispers. It’s a great time to talk to Him. It’s a perfect time to listen from Him.

One of my favorite two verses of Scripture are featured in my sermon – Philippians 4:6-7.

Now that “63 & 34” is done – I’m looking ahead to see what I want to write and preach about next. A verse-by-verse series of sermons on one of Paul’s letters is very likely. First Timothy is a leading contender.

It is Sunday February 09TH 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

What a weird week it was, but it’s wrapping-up nicely.

I got the “3-day flu” on Monday night. It came out of nowhere, and it hit me like a rock in the head – specifically from behind my right nostril to behind my right eye (sinus infection). I had nearly all of the classic symptoms (aside from fever). I was pretty much out-of-commission on Tuesday (the worst day), Wednesday (starting to feel a little better), and Thursday (starting to feel closer to normal). And then by Friday I was totally back to normal with an unusual amount of energy (after having lost at least 6 pounds of body weight over the previous days). Saturday was another high-energy day of great productivity.

He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. (Psalm 103:3 NLT)

Over the past few days I’ve been able to write the final third of my upcoming sermon titled “63 & 34”. I’m currently working on the PowerPoint Presentation that supplements it. I’ll be preaching it down south at my former home church in Homestead Florida 2 weeks from today. I’ll explain the significance of the title on that Sunday morning both here and there.

Today at Highlands Community Church our Senior Pastor’s sermon will be based on Revelation 2:18-29 NASB – God’s Message to the angel of the church in Thyatira. This is where Christ writes about the false prophet Jezebel. It’s the only place in the New Testament where Jezebel is written. (This is a different Jezebel than the original Old Testament Jezebel – wife of King Ahab.) You can watch the entire service from Praise & Worship to Closing Prayer via our Facebook page. It starts LIVE at 10:30 AM U.S. East Coast time.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.
