Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday December 08TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

This past Tuesday night at Men’s Fellowship at my home church – a small gathering of us enjoyed great fellowship, chili cheese hot dogs, potato chips, and Scripture from Titus. We read and discussed Titus 3:9-11 (NASB 1995):

But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. Reject a factious man after a first and second warning – knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning – being self-condemned.

And that’s why I spend little to no time commenting on certain Facebook pages. I have found that some of the most divisive and disrespectful church people on social media – are church leaders (Pastors, Preachers, Ministers, etc.), or those posing as such.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know – then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday December 01ST 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m back home where I belong in Sebring Florida today. I returned home from #DFW this past Friday night. I’ll recap my fun with my family in North Texas on my next #TravelThursday in 4 days.

I’m celebrating a couple of anniversaries today:

37 years ago – I arrived in Florida for the first time as an Air Force Airman. I landed at #MIA late on the evening of November 30TH 1987, and I got on base (Homestead AFB) after Midnight that night. It would be my place of employment for the next 36 years and 3 months (aside from 19 months directly after Hurricane Andrew).

The other anniversary has to do with this blog. It officially debuted here on the WordPress platform exactly 17 years ago today on December 01ST 2007. (It moved over here from Myspace.)

I’m excited to be back with my Highlands Community Church family for the first time in 3 weeks. I’m leading Communion this morning. I’m looking forward to returning to a regular routine this coming week – with neighborhood activities on Monday and Saturday, museum activities on Tuesday and Wednesday, and church activities on Tuesday and Friday.

Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. (Proverbs 10:4 NIV)

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday November 24TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m in Wylie Texas this morning, so I’m missing my Highlands Community Church family back home in Sebring Florida. I’ll be back next Sunday December 01ST. I’m with my family for #ThanksChristmasGiving – our annual tradition of Thanksgiving and Christmas combined during the week-plus leading-up to Thanksgiving Day.

I hope to work on a few upcoming sermons during my free time here in Texas.

From the 100TH Psalm – it’s a Psalm of Thanksgiving, and as the Bible says:

Shout with joy to the LORD – all the earth !
Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before Him – singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the LORD is God ! He made us, and we are His. We are His people – the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving. Go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.

You know – on this fantastic journey that our God has blessed us with – every day should be a day of Thanksgiving. We should give thanks to our God – with each new day that He has made – for what He has given to us – for what He gives to us – and for what He will give to us – past, present, and future. His blessings come to us constantly and abundantly. We must always be ready to accept His gifts.

It is Sunday November 17TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m in my old homestead of Homestead Florida this morning – the 4TH of 4 days here. I’ll be joining my former home church family this morning in fellowship and service and celebration. It’s my first time back at Living Waters Full Gospel Church in 9 weeks !

I have a lot of friends here in Homestead – some from my former workplace, but most from my former home church since March 2015. I love my church family. They are not mere Sunday morning acquaintances. They are lifelong friends. They are friends who I pray for with each new day that He has made. They are friends who I plan to visit for the foreseeable future.

Proverbs 27:10 (NLT):

Never abandon a friend – either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes – you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.
