Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday December 10TH 2023, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

Today I’ll be in Homestead Florida for the 3RD Sunday in a row. I’m driving down from Sebring Florida for the 182-mile trek. I’ll be in Homestead for 8 days and 7 nights, and then that’s it for this busy well-traveled year.

Last Sunday I concluded my 2-week Jude message series. I plan to transcribe both sermons combined starting early next month / year here on #SundayScripture.

Today I’ll begin a 2-week message series titled “Pray & Believe” – which I’ve already presented on here. I’m looking forward to sharing what God has placed on my heart this morning. Today’s Sermon includes Scripture from 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Philippians 4:6, Romans 12:12, Romans 8:24-27, Luke 11:49b-51a, and Acts 12:5-12.

My testimony is featured here each week on #SundayScripture whether it’s part of a sermon, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord, and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday December 03RD 2023, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m in Homestead Florida for the 2ND Sunday in a row. I never left from last Sunday. But I’m leaving today – back up the road to Sebring Florida.

But first I have a church service to lead – starting with Praise & Worship and continuing with my Sermon – the 2ND of my Jude series – and our monthly observance and celebration of Communion. I’m looking forward to sharing the living and loving God I know with my closest brothers and sisters of my church family.

Today I’m preaching from Jude Verses 12 to 25. I have a lot to say about this Scripture:

“The Lord is coming … to execute judgment on the people of the world. He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” These people are grumblers and complainers – living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want. (Jude 1:15-16 NLT)

My testimony is featured here each week on #SundayScripture whether it’s part of a sermon, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord, and get closer to Him with each new day.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday November 26TH 2023, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

It’s been a whirlwind of travel for me over the past dozen days. I’ll share the highlights of it all later this week on #TravelThursday. But on this Sunday morning I’m driving southward along my favorite U.S. Highway 27 from Sebring Florida to Homestead Florida – returning for the first time since I left 19 days ago.

This morning I’ll be leading my longtime church family in Praise & Worship with 3 songs from Casting Crowns, Caleb & John, and for King + Country. I’ll then be preaching from the first 11 verses of Jude’s letter near the end of the New Testament. Post-service we’ll enjoy fellowship at a local area restaurant – probably one where they serve steak and potatoes.

Here’s a short passage from my sermon this morning:

Our Pastor talks about hell and Satan. Many Pastors don’t like to preach about hell in their sermons. They don’t want to talk about the angry side of God – and the eternal fire of His judgment. I just did. We must preach the Word. We must preach the whole Word – from Genesis to Revelation – and everything in-between. I believe that the entire Bible is truth – God’s Truth – and it does not change with the times. He is the Way. He is the Truth. He is the Life – then, now, and forever and ever. Amen.

(That’s part of a larger part of my sermon where I preach about sin and a fire and brimstone future in hell from God’s judgment.)

So I want to remind you – though you already know these things – that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later He destroyed those who did not remain faithful. And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness – waiting for the great day of judgment. (Jude 1:5-6 NLT)

My testimony is featured here each week on #SundayScripture whether it’s part of a sermon, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord, and get closer to Him with each new day.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday November 19TH 2023, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m in Wylie Texas this morning, so I’m missing both of my church families back home in Florida in Sebring and Homestead. I’m with my family for #ThanksChristmasGiving – our annual tradition of Thanksgiving and Christmas combined during the week-plus leading-up to Thanksgiving Day.

My next 3 sermons are ready to go for the next 3 Sundays in Homestead. Of course I’ll make some final adjustments and enhancements during the Saturdays leading-up to each Sunday. Jude’s letter just before Revelation is the basis of my first 2 sermons titled “Jude & Judgment” (1-11) and “Jude & Jury” (12-25). My 3RD and 4TH sermons are both titled “Pray & Believe”, and regular readers of #SundayScripture will know that it is the sermon that I featured here in 10 parts from July to October. It’s actually an updated and expanded redux of a sermon that I preached 4½ years earlier. It’s been expanded so much that it is now 2 sermons instead of 1.

From the 100TH Psalm – it’s a Psalm of Thanksgiving, and as the Bible says:

Shout with joy to the LORD – all the earth !
Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before Him – singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the LORD is God ! He made us, and we are His. We are His people – the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving. Go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.

You know on this fantastic journey that our God has blessed us with – every day should be a day of Thanksgiving. We should give thanks to our God – every day – for what He has given to us – for what He gives to us – and for what He will give to us – past, present, and future – constantly and abundantly.

My testimony is featured here each week on #SundayScripture whether it’s part of a sermon, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord, and get closer to Him with each new day.
