My Fantastic Journey: 12TH Anniversary

This weekend I celebrate the 12TH Anniversary of my fantastic journey. My salvation began without warning. It wasn’t planned. I didn’t see it coming. But there it was. I was being rescued and saved from the darkness, and I didn’t even realize it – in the beginning. (It took me a few weeks to figure out God’s miracles for me.)

Early in the morning towards the latter part of August of 2006 during a typical 7¼-mile drive from home to work (in Homestead Florida) I flipped the radio dial off of Y-100 (Mainstream / Secular TOP 40) and I randomly discovered CALL-FM (Christian TOP 40).

Little did I know that such a mundane moment as changing the radio station in my car would signal the beginning of God’s Fantastic Journey for me. Little did I know that my previous life was about to come to a gradual end. Little did I know that I was about to be saved and reborn onto a new Life.

For you have been born again. Your new Life did not come from your earthly parents because the life they gave you will end in death. But this new Life will last forever because it comes from the eternal living word of God. As the prophet says, “People are like grass that dies away. Their beauty fades as quickly as the beauty of wildflowers. The grass withers, and the flowers fall away. But the Word of the Lord will last forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you. (1 Peter 1:23-25 NLT)

On that morning when salvation began – Jonah33’s “Desensitized” rocked my radio:

I’m growing numb.
But what is wrong, and what is right ?
When did I start to lose this fight ?
Somehow I lost track of who you are.

I’m so amazed at what sin’s become.
I’m so ashamed that I’ve grown so numb.
Somehow I became desensitized.
I don’t want to be desensitized.

The Major’s Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2008

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday August 03RD 2008:

  1. “Goodnight Gravity” – Falling Up
  2. “Captives Come Home” – Run Kid Run
  3. “Out Of Control” – Capital Lights
  4. “Run” – Ever Stays Red
  5. “Closer Than We Think” – The Classic Crime

A full decade ago I was approaching the 2ND anniversary of the start of my salvation. This blog was very active back then. I actually blogged daily, and sometimes twice and even thrice daily. I created this blog to journal each new Glorious day on my fantastic journey.

Look at what I wrote on this exact day 10 years ago – following that morning’s Sunday service with my church family at the time:

“We act upon what is in our hearts, and our Lives are a direct result of the condition of our hearts. Poverty is fueled by our human mind. Jesus challenges the quality of our Life by what drives our heart, what fuels our mind, and what moves our soul. We live in freedom, but our minds are in poverty. Our goal is to be fully alive and aware that we are totally blessed through it all. The fate of the world and the people around us depends on the outcome of our funk, and that funk doesn’t define us. It actually refines us.”

I clearly wrote that based on notes I took during the Pastor’s message. I did good !

It’s halftime. I’ll be back on Sunday with a transcript of my entire Communion that I’m leading with, and then on Monday it’s my brand new Top 10 music chart. Enjoy your Saturday. Be safe. Have fun. Love all. Live life.

The Major’s Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2008

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday June 29TH 2008:

  1. Captives Come Home – Run Kid Run
  2. Out Of Control – Capital Lights
  3. 10 Good Reasons – Hello Kelly
  4. Anything You Say – Deas Vail
  5. This Is Home – Switchfoot

As I entered the 23RD month of my salvation a full decade ago the soundtrack of my journey at the time was poppy and punky.

Run Kid Run filled the bill perfectly. They released a string of radio-friendly hits back in the late-2000s – most of which reached the Top 3 – “Sing To Me” (# 3 in 2007), “Captives Come Home” (# 1 for 4 weeks in 2008), “Sure Shot” (# 2 in 2008), “Set The Dial” (# 1 for 3 weeks in 2009), and “My Sweet Escape” (#6 in 2009). Additionally “I’ll Forever Sing” – released shortly before my salvation in 2006 – was a popular recurrent radio hit as I was learning all about God for the very first time.

I’ll be back on Sunday with Scripture, and then on Monday it’s my brand new Top 10 music chart.

Enjoy this weekend my brothers and sisters. Be safe. Have fun. Love all. Live life.

The Major’s Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2008

Every Friday night I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference from either 10, 20, or 30 years ago (rotating each week). Here it is – for the week ending Sunday June 01ST 2008:

  1. Addicted – P.O.D.
  2. Fading Away – Demon Hunter
  3. Last Regret – Seventh Day Slumber
  4. Anything You Say – Deas Vail
  5. This Is Home – Switchfoot

I can’t believe that was a full decade ago this weekend. I remember hearing those songs on the radio at the time in heavy rotation, and cranking them up at home and in my car, and rockin’ out to them. I was on the verge of 41 years old, but I was still a kid on this fantastic journey – just a little over 21 months after the start of salvation. I was still in such a euphoric state for Christ.

I would eventually come out of that euphoria. There’s about a 3 to 5 year stretch of my fantastic journey where I was still moving forward towards Christ, but it was at a much slower and insignificant pace. I never quite fell into the ditches of darkness along both sides of the winding and curving journey, but I came close, and I was certainly more vulnerable to do so than I was in the beginning. You never want to get comfortable on this journey (like I did) – because when you do the enemy and his followers of the world will strike with a vengeance.

A little over 3 years ago I made drastic changes in my daily spiritual life. I had to close some doors so that God could lead me to some open doors that were waiting for me with new opportunities. I’m enjoying a renaissance now, and I’m back to moving forward at a steady march towards God with a definite purpose.

This blog – established in 2007 – began fading away in 2010 – just as my fantastic journey was losing steam. It completely ceased and went dormant in 2012. I resurrected it at the start of this year. It’s now the cornerstone of my online ministry to win souls for Christ. If you’re reading this – then you’re part of my online church family. You are a brother or a sister in Christ. Let’s walk together. Let’s expand God’s Kingdom together.

If you’re not yet a believer and a follower of Christ – then that’s OK. Walk with me. Read my blogs when I post them. I’d like to share with you what I know to be The Truth. I’d like to share some Good News with you.

I’ll be back on Sunday with Scripture, and then on Monday it’s my brand new Top 10 music chart.

Enjoy this weekend my brothers and sisters. Be safe. Have fun. Love all. Live life.
