The Major’s Walk-A-Thon

Sky: Mostly Cloudy With Peeks Of Sun
Temperature: 61°F
Relative Humidity: 94%
Winds: NW 9 MPH
Barometric Pressure: 30.33 STEADY

My thoughts:

1.  The ground was wet when I stepped outside this morning for my 1.3-mile walk around the perimeter of my neighbourhood. It was also chilly out there when the sun wasn’t out. (Wind chills were still in the 50s.) When the sun peeked through the clouds it felt a little more comfortable. I appreciate the South Florida sun !

2.  My neighbours have trickled back from vacation. There were more cars in the various parking lots this morning than on any other morning since I began this walk-a-thon on Christmas Eve.

3.  Dogs simply don’t like me. One little mean growling dog would have run up to me and bitten my legs if it weren’t for his / her owner holding on tightly to his / her leash. Two other little dogs that were actually loose saw me, and then ran back hurriedly to their owner. That same other little dog from last Saturday that was barking loudly and tapping violently on the front window of his / her home as I walked by was at it again !

4.  Virtually every single utility poll along the southern perimeter fence of my neighbourhood (and SW 336TH Street) is tilted towards my neighbourhood at a precarious angle instead of straight-up. It’s probably been like that since Hurricane Wilma in October 2005. I wonder how secure those poles are embedded into the ground ?

5.  Walking is a great time for praying. I prayed for the residents of Homestead, Florida City, Redland, Leisure City, Naranja Lakes, and Princeton to be blessed by the Glory of God. I prayed that the believers stay strong and unwavering with their personal relationship with Jesus. I prayed that the non-believers be guided onto the on-ramp of the fantastic journey by the believers. There’s plenty of room for everyone who truly believes in Him !
