Skins lose to the Giants and Jax will smack the Titans down pretty good. The Dolphins will most likely drop the first game to the Jets as well.
I went with the ‘Fins to win because they looked pretty solid during preseason, and Chad Pennington may just be their long-awaited QB solution (as long as he’s injury-free). Brett Favre tends to have his weakest games when it’s hot and humid outside down south.
I could have gone with the Jags to beat the Titans, but I went with mere home-field advantage there.
I will never cast my ‘Skins as a loser in a game.

Redskins At Giants – GIANTS win. Come on. The defending Super Bowl champion versus the Skins with a new coach and Jason Campbell at QB. I predict Todd Collins will be the starter by Week 4.

Jets At Dolphins – The New York Football JETS will win this game because of their new Team Captain Brett Favre. i predict he and Jerricho Cotchery hook up for 2 or 3 TDs.
Jaguars At Titans – The Jags seem to have trouble with the Titans every year. BUT, that was with Brunell and Leftwich at QB. David Garrard is the REAL DEAL, and thunder and lighting (Maurice Jones Drew and Fred Taylor) should have a HUGE year. In the end, JAGS WIN! JAGS WIN! JAGS WINS!

Vikings At Packers – VIKINGS WIN! They have an injured unproven QB, they have Gus Frerotte as the backup, they have rookies and past-their-prime journeymen at WR, BUT, the Vikings will WIN this game because of ONE MAN. ADRIAN PETERSON!!!!!! You can’t stop him. you can only HOPE to contain him.
For next week you should pick against the spread. This picking straight up is way too easy. The spread evens things out then you have to make the tough decision. For example, I picked Carolina over San Diego. Had San Diego pulled out the win, you would have been correct, but you would have been wrong picking the spread since San Diego was a 9.5 favorite. I also picked Green Bay over Minnesota and had to predict the score. I went with Green Bay by 3 over Minnesota, score 24-21. That’s pretty darn close. I also got 10 out of 15 against the spread correct, with one more game to go. Those are numbers that the Swami could only dream of. If you go more than 50/50 against the spread you had a successful week. So how about it? Let’s use the spread next week and see if you can have a winning record.
