Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday February 27TH 2022, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

My Pastor and his family are on a well-deserved vacation this week, so I’m filling-in for him for this morning’s service from start to finish. I’m opening the service, I’m leading Praise & Worship, I’m preaching the sermon, and I’m closing the service.

I’m planning a “cold open” to start the service with the first of three Praise & Worship songs – “Nobody (But Jesus)” – from Casting Crowns and Matthew West. I’ll then greet everyone, and we’ll jump right in to our second song – “Church (Take Me Back)” – from Cochren & Co. That leads-in to my opening prayer, and then it’s my sermon. (The third song will serve as the intermission of my sermon.)

I’m preaching a sermon I wrote over the past few weeks – “Stones & Stumbles”. It’s based on 1 Peter 1:23 through 2:9. It’s the follow-up to two previous sermons from my continuing verse-by-verse message series from Peter’s first letter. The first two were “Salvation & Hope” (1 Peter 1:3-12), and “Holy & Redeemed” (1 Peter 1:13-23). I presented much of “Holy & Redeemed” here on #SundayScripture from December 19TH through January 23RD. (Use the calendar feature down near the bottom of this page to link to any previous blog post.)

You are coming to Christ – who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but He was chosen by God for great honor. (1 Peter 2:4)

I’m looking forward to sharing my message today about the God I know. He is my Cornerstone.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.
