My Top 5 Hits RETRO – 2007

Hello again retro music fans. Every Friday I post the Top 5 of one of my classic hit music charts based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from either 15, 25, 30, or 35 years ago this weekend (rotating each week).

It’s the 1ST Friday of the month, so I go back 15 years ago. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday August 05TH 2007:

  1. “You’re On Fire” – MxPx
  2. “Finding Out” – Stellar Kart
  3. “Let’s Go Back” – Everyday Sunday
  4. “Zero” – Hawk Nelson
  5. “Sing To Me” – Run Kid Run

Hawk Nelson’s “Zero” was huge in 2007. It actually entered my Top 25 weekly chart at the time straight-in at # 1 – and it stayed there for 6 weeks in a row. Exactly 15 years ago was when it fell from the top spot down to # 4. It finished 2007 as my # 21 hit of the year (out of 132 that charted).

Back then Jason Dunn was the lead singer (as well as rhythm guitarist and keyboardist) of the band. He cowrote “Zero” about someone he knew who committed suicide.

Next #RetroFriday I’ll go back 25 years ago to August 1997. It’s when Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson asked “Where’s The Love ?”.

It’s halftime my friends. I’ll be back on Sunday and Monday with 2 more blog posts for this weekend. Enjoy your Saturday. Thanks for going retro with me !
