Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts

It’s Tuesday night friends, and I’ve got 10 items of interest that are on my mind:

1.  This is the 6-month anniversary of this weekly feature here on this blog. You may think that this highly successful series was an original idea o’ mine. You would be wrong. Travis used to do an occasional ‘Mind Dump’ over on his blog. I took his ‘Mind Dump’ and ran with the idea. P.J. has since taken my ‘Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’ idea and turned it into a multi-day mini-series over on his blog. He’s cool like that.

2.  Believe it or not this day will be recorded as one of the coldest April days in South Florida weather history (going back over 100 years). Enjoy it while it lasts. The hot and sticky months of May, June, July, August, September, and October are just around the corner.

3.  I am SHOCKED – literally. Whenever the relative humidity drops below 50% I end up shocking virtually everything metallic that I touch. There’s a lot of static energy all throughout me. I’m electric !

4.  My legs still itch from the multiple mosquito bites that I endured this past Sunday afternoon at Homestead Bayfront Park. This cold and dry weather has since blown them all out to sea. Some Summers we see very few mosquitoes here in the Homestead area. Other Summers Homestead is infested with them. We’ll see what happens this Summer real soon.

5.  Pope Benedict XVI was greeted by President Bush at Andrews AFB MD this afternoon as I was compiling these thoughts. The Pope celebrates his 81ST birthday tomorrow (April 16TH).

6.  I still weigh 165 pounds – on the dot. I would have figured that I would weigh more than that considering the MASSIVE quantities of food that I’ve consumed over the past week or so.

7.  I watch a lot of reality shows on network and cable television, but there’s one in particular that I always look forward to watching LIVE (not on tape) every Tuesday night. That would be ‘Hell’s Kitchen‘ with Mr. Gordon Ramsay.

8.  When I lay myself to sleep each night I talk to Jesus for a few minutes. I thank him over and over again for giving me this new Life that I can truly be proud of. I commit myself to following Him. I am dependent on Him to guide me on this fantastic journey. He will never let me down.

9.  My 2003 Saturn will be fully paid off in less than 3 months after 60 months of payments. I haven’t had a car that was totally in my name since the mid-1990s when I owned a 1989 Geo Spectrum after paying it all off.

10.  Netflix is sending me ‘License To Wed‘ tomorrow in the mail. This was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time when I saw it at the box office on the 4TH Of July last year. I can’t wait to see it again !

Bedtime Stories

This will be a quickie ‘Bedtime Stories’ for a Saturday night. I’ll be going to sleep within the next 90 minutes. I need my beauty sleep in order to be relaxed and refreshed for a busy Sunday morning at Life Pointe Church. After that it’s on to Homestead Bayfront Park for a fun afternoon of food, fellowship, and even a few baptisms at the beach.

Be sure to catch the ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ at a special later time on Sunday – before 6 PM EDT / 3 PM Travis & Kelly time.

Have a nice Saturday night everyone, and until we hang out again remember this:

Bedtime Stories

This is the 33RD edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ – brought to you by I Love Cheese.com.

TODAY I enjoyed a 3½-hour Lunch with Paul and Phil at Homestead’s historic White Lion Cafe. We ate delicious food non-stop for about 1½-hours, and then we just sat there and talked about the world for the next two-hours after that. One of the estimated 53 topics of discussion that involved the three of us (as well as three employees of the restaurant) was the correct spelling of f-e-t-t-u-c-c-i-n-e. That occupied a good 15 minutes of our precious time together. By the time it was all said and done I felt like I had attended and graduated from Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee, as I had lived vicariously through Paul’s and Phil’s experiences of a lifetime there. I had a great time of fun, food, and fellowship, and we’ll have to do it all over again sometime soon !

In other news we’ve just completed the biggest Friday in the history of this blog. Over the past 21 days we have now scored our biggest Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday here on this blog as far as unique hits are concerned. THANKS to everyone for blogging with me on here !

TOMORROW MORNING on the blog I’ve got what could be the Spring season finale of ‘The Major’s Walk-A-Thon’. Be there as I report on my walk all around my neighbourhood. Then on Sunday afternoon get in on some fun, food, and fellowship of your own over at Homestead Bayfront Park as Life Pointe Church invades the beach for our bimonthly picnic. If you can’t make it over there then read all about it on the ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ later that afternoon.

And so there you go with your ‘Bedtime Stories’ on a Friday night. Have a nice and pleasant evening with your loved ones, get some rest, and I’ll catch you all back here on the blog real soon.
