Social Media RoundUp

It’s Thursday. It’s 3 AM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) here in South Florida U.S.A. I’m hopefully sound asleep right now. I wrote this last night just before I went to bed, and I set it to publish at this time.

It’s time to kickoff another weekend of blogging here at CountUp Ministries. My blogging weekends typically begin early on Thursday mornings, and they end on Monday nights with my new Top 10 personal hit music chart.

This blog continues to expand worldwide, so I thought it would be a good idea to update you on my ongoing social media activities.

I’m barely on Facebook. I don’t even promote it anymore. I’m only on there because I still have a few friends who are still on there. I don’t post material on there anymore. I only “like” or “love” or “haha” or “wow” or comment on my friends’ posts. I left Facebook after almost 5 years because there’s just too much fake news, nonsense, profanity, hatred, and racism over there. People say things over there that they would never say in public.

In a couple of months I’ll be observing my 10TH anniversary on Twitter. I’m @ChrisMDay (that’s my real name), and to date I’ve posted over 7,800 tweets. That’s an average of about 2 per day over the past 10 years. If you’re reading this blog post at http://www.revchrismday.com then you can always check out my last 5 tweets over on the right-hand column (just scroll down a little bit). Coming up on Sunday June 09TH starting at 9 PM EDT I’ll be live-tweeting during the K-LOVE Fan Awards broadcast on TBN.

I’m on Flickr, and I’ve been on there for the past 8 years. I’ve been actively posting a lot of vacation photos on there recently – in fact over 225 new photos over the past 6 months. I caption all of my photos too. They mean a lot to me. They bring back a lot of good memories away from home. They are the “best of the best”, and they represent less than half of all of the photos that I take at any given location. You can always check out my last 5 photos over on the right-hand column (just below my tweets). There’s also a link there to access my entire Flickr site.

Finally I’m here on WordPress. I came here towards the end of 2007 after a short stint on Myspace (where my blog was born). I disappeared for about 7 years (defecting to Twitter and Facebook), but then I returned at the start of last year (2018). This now serves as my official web site, and it’s the home page of my online ministry.

Not every blog post you read on here will be about my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, but most of them will be. He is the center of my life. I am His servant. My ministry’s mission statement is “sharing God’s Good News through His music”. I hope to do that and glorify God at all times.

I’ll never get political on social media. I’ll never get political in real life – away from technology. Some of my viewpoints are rather extreme on both ends of the political spectrum (left and right), and they are mine to keep to myself. I’ll continue to vote for those politicians who I believe share the majority of my political viewpoints.

I’ll continue to tweet, post photos, and blog along this fantastic journey. As a reader / viewer I’m happy to have you here to walk alongside me !

My Top 10 Hits – Week 119

Every Monday night I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay. But due to the Memorial Day holiday yesterday I’m doing it on Tuesday. Here it is – for the week ending Sunday May 26TH 2019:

  1. “Born Again” – Austin French [# 3 last week / 13TH week on chart]
  2. “Church (Take Me Back)” – Cochren & Co. [4 / 14TH]
  3. “Resurrecting” – Elevation Worship [7 / 7TH]
  4. “Alive” – Big Daddy Weave [1 / 11TH]
  5. “Greatness Of Our God” – Newsboys [2 / 14TH]
  6. “Is He Worthy ?” – Chris Tomlin [6 / 8TH]
  7. “Confidence” – Sanctus Real [5 / 14TH]
  8. “Prize Worth Fighting For” – Jamie Kimmett [9 / 7TH]
  9. “Greater Things” – Mack Brock [10 / 2ND]
  10. “Scars” – I AM THEY [8 / 3RD]

# 1 One Year Ago This Week:
“The Way (New Horizon)” – Pat Barrett

# 1 Two Years Ago This Week:
“Live Like You’re Loved” – Hawk Nelson

Austin French scores his 2ND consecutive # 1 smash here on my chart, and he does it in a much different way than his debut smash “Freedom Hymn”. That was a short-lived (8-weeks overall) hit that debuted at # 3, went to # 2 a week later, and then ascended to # 1 in its 3RD week where it stayed for 4 weeks in a row. This time he spent 13 weeks to reach # 1 with “Born Again”, and it stopped at every chart position along the way except for # 8 and # 2.

♫ I was down on my luck. I was stuck. I was running ’round broken-hearted. I was sinking so fast. I couldn’t last. Falling apart. And You could’ve ran away. Leaving me there in my shame. Leaving me fighting my pain. But You made a better way. ♫

Great lyrics for a great song. It’s the theme song for my fantastic journey !

Summer has begun, and I’m continuing my annual tradition. I’ll be crunching the numbers all summer long, and on a special compilation chart on Tuesday September 03RD I’ll present my Top 10 hits of the Summer Of 2019 based on the 15 weekly charts between now and then.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend (which starts in just 48 hours) – 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. Enjoy this week my friends. I’m on Twitter @ChrisMDay, and I’m also the man behind the tweets for my church @LivingWatersHFL. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. AMEN.

Memorial Day

2008 Memorial Day Poster #3.

It’s Memorial Day here in the U.S.A. It’s not appropriate to say “Happy Memorial Day”, for this is a truly solemn holiday. It’s the day each year that we honor our fallen heroes – those military personnel who served their country in a time of war – and who gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep our freedom strong. They gave their life.

This is not a day for those like me who once served in the U.S. Armed Forces, for I am still alive. My day is Veterans Day on November 11TH. It is not a day for those who are currently serving in the military. That day is Armed Forces Day – the 3RD Saturday of May.

On this day I remember our fallen heroes. I will never forget.

There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (John 15:13)

Bible Christian Church God Ministry Scripture

Sunday Scripture

Today our Lead Pastor delivered a powerful and relevant message with the title – “Faith:  The Fulfillment Of Righteousness Of The Law”. It was a classic New Testament sermon all about Grace and Mercy. (That’s his expertise.)

Our Pastor has been preaching for about 35 years now – since a few weeks after he was rescued and saved by Christ in his mid-30s. He preaches with authority – and without the use of notes. It’s like watching a college professor teaching a class – while keeping it lively and simple enough for someone like me to understand.

Me ?  I’ve been on this journey for going on 13 years now. I’ve been actively preaching full sermons for not even 3 of those 13 years. I’ve preached 24 sermons thus far, and yesterday during my nearly all-day Bible study I finished writing my 25TH sermon titled “Pray & Believe”. I’ll be preaching it next month – if it’s in God’s will. I’ll also be printing it out the night before I preach it – all 11 or 12 pages in Microsoft Word – Font Type Calibri Size 16. It’ll be in document protectors in a 3-ring notebook, and I’ll be mostly reading from it. I’m actually relying on my full manuscripts less and less with each new sermon. I’ve been doing more ad-libbing during my sermons. Sometimes that works out, and sometimes not so much. Eventually I’ll get to the point (once I get more sermons under my belt) where I won’t even be referring to my manuscripts anymore. I’ll escape the pulpit “bubble” if you will. I pray to God all the time that He guides me and directs me away from my full manuscripts. I’m a work-in-progress.

So our Pastor preached today, and I wrote down a lot of notes including all of the verses of Scripture that he referenced. (There were 12 verses total from 7 books.)

Here’s my major takeaway from his sermon:  Grace releases Faith, and once you add that Faith to that Grace – you get Authority.

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 1:19-20)
