Blatant Promotion

It’s after 9:30 PM on a Sunday night, and I’m already thinking about my next MASSIVE meal – Lunch tomorrow. Weather-permitting and work-permitting I plan to go to either Beef O’ Brady’s or Peking House, so I should have 1 of 2 blog entries for your reading pleasure tomorrow (Monday) night (after 7 PM):

– ‘Beef O’ Brady’s: It’s What’s For Lunch’
– ‘The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club’

It’s just an appetizer a day in advance of the main course – the (now legendary) ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’. It’s totally unrehearsed, and it’s totally spontaneous. You’re not gonna believe some of my thoughts this Tuesday night !

THANK YOU FRIENDS for another hyperactive week here on the big blog. It was tied for the 2ND busiest week in our entire history with two more record-breaking days – the best Tuesday ever and the best Thursday ever. Let’s do it all over again during this upcoming Monday to Sunday blog week. Keep on reading and commenting and I’ll keep on writing and replying.

Until we hang out again here on the big blog (or LIVE and in-person) remember this:

Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

1.  David Corrado and Richie Nieves arrived at the movie theatre long before anyone else did this morning. They were there long before Pastor Travis, Pastor Paul, Anne J., and myself were there. They wanted to get a head start in transforming a public place of Hollywood movie magic into a public place of praise and worship for God. David and Richie are so assimilated into our living and breathing body that is our Life Pointe Church family. That’s what it’s all about.

2.  There is no ‘summer slump’ in-progress at Life Pointe Church. I think that Flagship Cinemas Corporate Headquarters (up near Boston Mass.) would have been totally ecstatic to have a crowd show up at any one of their movies during the week that showed up for our 9 AM service. It was ‘bumping in to other people room only’ all throughout the main lobby just before the 9 AM service, and then again just before the 10:30 AM service. It was surely our busiest Sunday morning since Easter Sunday morning in March !

3.  Pastor Travis spoke on ‘The Funk Of Suffering’ as part of our summer-long ‘Got Funk ?’ message series. Suffering exists because sin exists. God sees and hears all of the suffering in His world that He created. He is compassionate about it all. He endures it all. He never avoids it. Everyone suffers, but will you suffer in a way that God can do something through you ?  Will your suffering compel you to love Jesus more ?  Will your suffering reprioritize you toward the mission of Jesus ?

Next Sunday morning Pastor Paul will speak on ‘The Funk In Death’. Tim Russert’s death has hit me rather hard. I was a big fan of him. He was an important part of my extended Irish family. I got very interested and knowledgeable in politics and the world around me because of him. I’ve been a 16-year fan of “Meet The Press” on Sunday mornings because of him. I never met him in person, but if I had a TOP 5 list of Americans I’d most want to meet and have dinner with he would have definitely been on that list. He’s up in Heaven now. God needed his Moderator and Managing Editor up there, and He got him. He’s probably staying up late and doing his extended research right now so that he can finally discuss the important issues of the century with Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, John F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. up there around the big table after all of these years. It’ll be the most intelligent and topical hour of LIVE television that the angels have ever seen. Rest In Peace Tim. Because if it’s Sunday – it is “Meet The Press” – but it will never be the same without you. This is BIG – Heaven’s got you now !

Saturday Morning Shenanigans

I do more before 8 AM on a Saturday morning than most many some people do all day on Saturday !  🙄

PUBLIX – I did my occasional grocery shopping this morning, and I bought over $61 in quality food, beverage, and other general merchandise. I saved over $15 in combined advertised special savings and coupons. My groceries were taken out to my car for me, so this is a new and developing positive trend for this particular Publix location (Homestead‘s Oasis Plaza). I think that it would be safe to say that Publix is my favourite store in the free nation !

WOODY’S – Normally I get a haircut at Homestead’s legendary Woody’s Barber Shop during the week as part of my Lunch hour; however, I decided that my spaghetti noodle textured mop top could not wait another 2 or 3 or 4 days to be snipped. It had to be done NOW !  It’s hot outside, and it’s also breezy outside. I’m sweating, and I was starting to look like this nerd again:

Albert Einstein

STARBUCKS – ‘I’ll get a grande White Chocolate Mocha and an Apple Fritter.’
‘That’ll be $6.08 please.’
‘No problem. Here’s my exact change !’

TODAY is Flag Day here in the U.S.A.
Respect and protect the American flag and all that it symbolizes today and every day. We live in freedom today because of those who fought for us on our behalf as they carried our American flag.

Friday Night Blogroll Review

Now in the middle of its 7TH month – this is a Friday night tradition:

I was a special guest blogger on Pastor Travis’s blog, and I wrote all about assimilation from the point-of-view of a 22-month believer who has gone from first-time guest to second-time guest to regular attender to member to leader over the past 17 months.

In a rare edition of his ‘Sunday Stew’ Pastor Paul referred to me as ‘the most Anglo guy I know’.

Bill reports on the happenings of Life Pointe Church from last Sunday morning.

Phil and Marcela celebrated their 3RD wedding anniversary this past week up at the Orlando area tourist attractions.

Ritz Crackah is a High School Graduate !

Diego doesn’t like sushi.

Kelly wishes Travis a Happy Birthday !

Luciana celebrated Valentine’s Day in June – just like they do in her native country of Brazil.

Gricelda welcomes you to her fresh new blog.
