My Top 10 Hits – Week 256

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here’s this week’s chart:

2020 – “Holy Water” – We The Kingdom
2019 – “Well Done” – The Afters
2018 – “Lions” – Skillet

RESURGENCE OF THE NUMBER TWOS – Former # 2 hits “In The House” and “Come What May” move back up my chart this week – showing their durability as long-running hits on the radio before, during, and after the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holiday season. Crowder is back up to # 2 after falling to # 5 last week. He was previously at # 2 for the first 2 weeks of December. Maybe he scores his next # 1 smash next week ? We Are Messengers are up to # 3 after falling to # 6 last month. They were previously at # 2 for the last 3 weeks of November (right before Crowder). Maybe they score their next # 1 smash next week ? Or Jordan St. Cyr may continue on at the top with “Weary Traveler”.

2022 – Happy New Year ! It’s been 4 years since I abandoned Facebook on New Year’s Eve of 2017, and just 2 weeks into 2018 I quietly resurrected this blog here on WordPress with Week 48 of “My Top 10 Hits”. I’ve posted 773 blog posts since the resurrection (including this one). I’m still having fun 4 times per week, so I shall continue on into 2022. I’m glad that you’re along for this journey.

MICAH – 1 of my Top 10 artists over the past 255 weeks is Micah Tyler. I’ve seen him in concert twice – both times in Tampa Florida opening for MercyMe. He sings for his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. His inspirational and anthemic “Walking Free” enters my chart as the first new debut of 2022, and it’s his 5TH hit in 5 years.

CHRISTMAS # 1 – Jordan St. Cyr’s “Weary Traveler” is my Christmas # 1, and it seems like the most appropriate song for a Christmas # 1 since this current era began in 2017. Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ is born. He saves. Weary traveler – you won’t be weary long.

WEARY TRAVELER – Jordan St. Cyr’s 2ND hit is a # 1 smash just like his 1ST hit. “Weary Traveler” was an unlikely pop hit on my chart at the onset. It was released to U.S. Christian Radio back during the 2ND week of September, and K-LOVE picked-up on it a couple of weeks later. I didn’t like it / appreciate it at first, but it eventually grew on me. It quietly entered my chart at # 10, as my 18-day road-trip between South Florida and North Texas was getting underway last month. It became the anthem of my road-trip. Its powerful lyrics were appropriate for my journey, but they are also very relevant for the troubled world that we live in today.

Check out Jordan in his own words with the story behind the song:

Come to Me – all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you – because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT)

2021 – Next Monday I’ll present my final weekly chart of 2021. On Wednesday December 29TH 2021 I’ll present “My Top 20 Hits – 2021”. Who’s got my # 1 smash of the entire year ? We shall soon find out.
