The K-LOVE Fan Awards aired this past Friday night on TBN. It was canceled last year due to the pandemic. I actually wasn’t planning to watch it as it aired, as I was on vacation. But I finished seeing and doing everything that I had planned on my vacation, so I sat on my bed in my hotel room, and I watched it, and I enjoyed it, and I sang along to it. It was a fun show with a fun host (Matthew West) – one of only two awards shows that I still watch on TV. (The other being the GMA Dove Awards.)

Normally (as I’ve done in the past) I’d live-tweet during the original broadcast of the show (@ChrisMDay), but not so this year since I hadn’t planned to watch it until after I returned home from vacation. I’ll try again for the live-tweet during the 2022 awards show. (One of these years I plan to attend it LIVE and in-person in Nashville.)

I voted for 7 of the K-LOVE Fan Awards, and 4 of my 7 votes won:
Male Artist Of The Year (Zach Williams – one of my favorite singers)
– Breakout Single (“Rise” – Cain – my # 4 hit of all of 2020)
– Worship Song Of The Year (“Waymaker” – Michael W. Smith)
– Song Of The Year (“There Was Jesus” – Zach Williams Ft. Dolly Parton).

There were a lot of great LIVE performances during the awards show, and Tauren Wells and Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts performing “Until Grace” was one of my favorites of the night. It’s my only new entry this week at # 9.

Here’s the official lyric video for “Until Grace”:

My Top 10 Hits – Week 224

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here’s this week’s chart:

COUNTUP MINISTRIES FOR THE WEEK ENDING SUNDAY MAY 30TH 2021 WEEK 224
TW LW WKS SONG TITLE ARTIST / SITE
1 1 12 Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight)
[3RD week @ # 1]

8 5 8 God Of Revival Brian & Jenn Johnson
9 1 Be Alright Evan Craft X Danny Gokey X Redimi2
10 1 Hold On To Me Lauren Daigle

# 1 This Week In:
2020 – “I Will Fear No More” – The Afters
2019 – “Born Again” – Austin French
2018 – “The Way (New Horizon)” – Pat Barrett
2017 – “Live Like You’re Loved” – Hawk Nelson

TobyMac is at # 1 for a 3RD week with his smash “Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight)”. It’s got the 3RD “most increased plays” this week at U.S. Christian radio (large market), and it will very likely hit # 1 nationally in a couple of weeks.

Last week’s BUBBLING UNDER is this week’s highest new entry – straight-in to my Top 5 at # 5. I love the new Ryan Stevenson track “When We Fall Apart”. It’s actually a re-recorded version of the song that was originally released as a single late in 2019 and included on his 2020 album “Wildest Dreams”. The new version features country music singer Vince Gill and his wife of 21 years – pop star Amy Grant. It sounds great on the radio; although, the lyrics do make my eyes water a bit. It’s OK to cry. It’s OK to fall apart.

Here’s the official lyric video for “When We Fall Apart”:

June has arrived, and Summer is here in the U.S.A. It’s going to be a fun Summer, and I’ll be here all season long continuing my 4 blog posts per weekend schedule. This is actually my 5TH blog post for this holiday weekend, so I’ve got a quick turnaround of just 48 hours before my next weekend of blogging begins.

This blog is # 48 worldwide on the Top 90 Christian Music Blogs, Websites, & Influencers in 2021 chart. Thank You for including us Feedspot !

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

My Top 10 Hits – Week 223

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here’s this week’s chart:

COUNTUP MINISTRIES FOR THE WEEK ENDING SUNDAY MAY 23RD 2021 WEEK 223

3 2 18 Fires Jordan St. Cyr

5 5 7 God Of Revival Brian & Jenn Johnson
6 4 9 Child Of Love We The Kingdom Ft. Bear Rinehart
7 7 14 Good God Almighty Crowder
8 8 26 Every Step Of The Way Cade Thompson
9 9 7 Gospel Song Rhett Walker
10 10 5 Mean Girls Leanna Crawford

# 1 This Week In:
2020 – “I Will Fear No More” – The Afters
2019 – “Born Again” – Austin French
2018 – “The Way (New Horizon)” – Pat Barrett
2017 – “Live Like You’re Loved” – Hawk Nelson

TobyMac spends a 2ND week at # 1 with his smash “Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight)”. It’s also Top 5 nationwide at U.S. Christian radio (large market) – and just outside of the Top 5 (small market). I expect it to be Top 3 next week at both.

BUBBLING UNDERRyan Stevenson‘s latest “When We Fall Apart” is starting to receive moderate airplay on K-LOVE. It’s sitting just outside of my Top 10, and it could enter with next week’s chart. It would be his 6TH hit on my chart during this current era.

This weekend’s chart is normally the first chart of summer, but this year Memorial Day is as late as it can possibly be on the calendar – May 31ST. Last year it was as early as it can possibly be – May 25TH. (It’s always the last Monday of May.) Here in the U.S. it’s unofficially the start of summer.

Every summer here at #CountUp I celebrate the hottest hits of the hottest time of the year – from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. On the Tuesday after Labor Day in September I’ll present my Top 10 hits of the 15 weeks of summer.

This blog is # 48 worldwide on the Top 90 Christian Music Blogs, Websites, & Influencers in 2021 chart. Thank You for including us Feedspot !

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 5 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday, and a special post on Tuesday June 01ST (my next music chart). I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

My Top 10 Hits – Week 222

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back 40+ years. Here’s this week’s chart:

COUNTUP MINISTRIES FOR THE WEEK ENDING SUNDAY MAY 16TH 2021 WEEK 222

# 1 This Week In:
2020 – “I Will Fear No More” – The Afters
2019 – “Alive” – Big Daddy Weave
2018 – “The Way (New Horizon)” – Pat Barrett
2017 – “Oh My Soul” – Casting Crowns

Kevin Michael McKeehan AKA Toby McKeehan AKA TobyMac climbs to the top of my chart with “Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight)”. It’s his first # 1 smash on my chart since my very first chart during this current era that began 221 weeks ago. That was “Love Broke Thru” that topped the return of my chart after a 7-year hiatus in February 2017. Toby’s first # 1 smash was exactly a decade before that in February 2007 – “Made To Love”.

Moving up 2 notches to # 3 this week is the latest from Chris Tomlin from his album of inspirational songs with some of his friends. “God Who Listens” is his collaboration with country music star Thomas Rhett. It returns Chris back into the Top 3 for the first time in nearly 2 years. His first 4 hits on my chart peaked at either # 1 or # 2 or # 3, but his last hit – “Who You Are To Me” (with Lady A) – stalled-out after 3 weeks at # 10.

Here’s the official lyric video for “God Who Listens”:
