# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Control (Somehow You Want Me)” – Tenth Avenue North

Last Thursday night in Estero Florida (between Fort Myers and Naples) I saw for King & Country and Zach Williams LIVE in concert.

Neon Feather opened the show a full 30 minutes before showtime. I had never heard of him before. He’s a trance, techno, and house deejay for Christ, and he remixes Christian tracks for other popular artists. He was very good, and I’m qualified to say that with my own background in that genre of music (before salvation). I plan to check out some of his dance remixes online.

Caitie Hurst was the next artist up at showtime (7 PM), and I had never heard of her before either. Neon Feather was one of her musicians. She was pretty good too. Her music was poppy and danceable.

Zach Williams was up next, and he plowed through 7 songs in a row including his first 4 big chart hits. He even threw in an original Christmas song. He sounded really good, and his band was awesome too. He’s becoming one of the biggest male stars in Christian radio, and deservedly so. I love hearing his story of salvation.

for King & Country was the headliner that the several thousand in attendance went crazy for (particularly little kids and teenaged girls). I’ve said it a few times before. I’ve never really been a fan of them or their music until just recently. Zach Williams was actually the selling point for me for this show, but as the concert approached I became more and more of a fan of the duo. They performed 4 Christmas songs, 9 of their hits (5 classics and 4 new ones from their new album), and 6 more Christmas songs (including “joy”). For much of their performance I was up on my feet singing along, clapping my hands, and dancing. (I had a floor seat very near the extended stage.)

It was an awesome 4-hour show on that Thursday night – one to remember for awhile.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 3 blog posts on Thursday, Friday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Control (Somehow You Want Me)” – Tenth Avenue North

This weekend I celebrated my 31ST anniversary of living and working here in Homestead Florida, and I celebrated my 33RD anniversary of this hobby right here – compiling and creating my personal hit music chart. I also celebrated my 11TH anniversary here on WordPress.

This is the 94TH week of the 3RD era of my personal hit music chart. Micah Tyler’s “Even Then” is my 27TH # 1 hit of this 3RD era – and 451ST # 1 hit overall since that very first chart of 33 years ago.

There are 4 more charts in 2018, and then on New Year’s Day I’ll post a special chart – my Top 18 of 2018.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 blog posts on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.

  2. “Only Jesus” – Casting Crowns [1 / 13TH]
  3. “Nobody Loves Me Like You” – Chris Tomlin [4 / 4TH]

  9. “Stand In Your Love” – Josh Baldwin [9 / 8TH]

# 1 One Year Ago This Week – “Different” – Micah Tyler

Micah Tyler scores his 2ND consecutive # 1 smash here on my chart, as “Even Then” rises to the top spot. It’s the follow-up to his long-running “Different” which was # 1 exactly one year ago.

In a somewhat surprising debut – for King & Country enters my chart at # 10 with their long-running # 1 smash on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart – “joy”. It’s slowly descending the national chart (currently at # 7) in its 27TH week. It also crossed-over onto mainstream (secular) Top 40 radio stations – particularly those that lean more adult. I’ll be seeing them LIVE in concert in 2½ weeks !

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. Next weekend it’s back to 4 blog posts on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.
