# 1 Of 2017 – “Broken Things” – Matthew West

What a great year for God’s music. What a great chart to represent His music. Not a lot of surprises there. When “Do It Again” and “Grace Got You” became summertime anthems and finished as # 1 and # 2 on my special “Summer Of 2018” chart – they pretty much clinched # 1 and # 2 for the entire year.

MercyMe also had the # 2 smash of all of 2017 with “Even If”. Both “Even If” and “Grace Got You” fell 8 points shy of the # 1 spot for their respective years.

This chart was compiled by awarding 10 points for each week at # 1, 9 points for # 2, and so forth and so on down to 1 point for # 10. The points are then added, and the hits are ranked.

There were 13 # 1 hits in 2018, and all but 1 of them made the Top 18 – “Lions” (Skillet). It was a holdover from 2017, and its run at # 1 was actually at the end of its chart life.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again next weekend – 4 blog posts on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.
