Bedtime Stories

This will be a quickie ‘Bedtime Stories’ for a Saturday night. I’ll be going to sleep within the next 90 minutes. I need my beauty sleep in order to be relaxed and refreshed for a busy Sunday morning at Life Pointe Church. After that it’s on to Homestead Bayfront Park for a fun afternoon of food, fellowship, and even a few baptisms at the beach.

Be sure to catch the ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ at a special later time on Sunday – before 6 PM EDT / 3 PM Travis & Kelly time.

Have a nice Saturday night everyone, and until we hang out again remember this:

The Major’s Walk-A-Thon

Sky: Partly Cloudy
Temperature: 73°F
Relative Humidity: 87%
Winds: Calm
Barometric Pressure: 29.99 Rising

My thoughts:

1.  This morning’s walk began a full 25 minutes before sunrise right at the start of civil twilight. I wanted to get a head start before the Sun heated up the environment.

2.  This was the longest ‘Walk-A-Thon’ ever – over 2.2 miles according to my good friends over there at Google Earth. It took me just shy of 42 minutes to walk the walk. I averaged PI (3.14) MPH. I’ve made considerable progress since those 25-minute 1.3-mile walks of January. It’s a fantastic journey all around and throughout my neighborhood on God’s fantastic journey.

3.  No ducks were harmed on this morning’s walk, and I was not scared either. They minded their own business, and so did I. The’re good like that !

4.  This was intended as the ‘Spring Season Finale’ of ‘The Major’s Walk-A-Thon’; however, as long as temperatures remain below 75°F early on a Saturday morning I will probably continue the momentum. The Summer hiatus of this walk may have been greatly exaggerated.

5.  After the walk I drove over to The Atlanta Bread Company to eat a MASSIVE breakfast (planned in advance by studying their menu earlier this morning at home). Unfortunately it appeared that The Atlanta Bread Company had gone out of business, or perhaps they were robbed, or maybe they were recovering from a fire overnight. I didn’t really know for sure because they were CLOSED for business a full hour after their scheduled opening time !  The doors were locked shut, and there was no sign on the doors to alert their customers as to why they were closed. I had no backup plan (my bad), so I spontaneously decided to get on Florida’s Turnpike southbound, head into Florida City, and pick-up a fast food breakfast at Arby’s. It just wasn’t the same, but it was OK I suppose.

FOOTNOTE:  Upon further review The Atlanta Bread Company actually does not open for business until 8 AM on Saturday mornings (as per their official web site). This contradicts the 6:30 AM opening time that is posted on their take-out menu.

Bedtime Stories

This is the 33RD edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ – brought to you by I Love Cheese.com.

TODAY I enjoyed a 3½-hour Lunch with Paul and Phil at Homestead’s historic White Lion Cafe. We ate delicious food non-stop for about 1½-hours, and then we just sat there and talked about the world for the next two-hours after that. One of the estimated 53 topics of discussion that involved the three of us (as well as three employees of the restaurant) was the correct spelling of f-e-t-t-u-c-c-i-n-e. That occupied a good 15 minutes of our precious time together. By the time it was all said and done I felt like I had attended and graduated from Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee, as I had lived vicariously through Paul’s and Phil’s experiences of a lifetime there. I had a great time of fun, food, and fellowship, and we’ll have to do it all over again sometime soon !

In other news we’ve just completed the biggest Friday in the history of this blog. Over the past 21 days we have now scored our biggest Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday here on this blog as far as unique hits are concerned. THANKS to everyone for blogging with me on here !

TOMORROW MORNING on the blog I’ve got what could be the Spring season finale of ‘The Major’s Walk-A-Thon’. Be there as I report on my walk all around my neighbourhood. Then on Sunday afternoon get in on some fun, food, and fellowship of your own over at Homestead Bayfront Park as Life Pointe Church invades the beach for our bimonthly picnic. If you can’t make it over there then read all about it on the ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ later that afternoon.

And so there you go with your ‘Bedtime Stories’ on a Friday night. Have a nice and pleasant evening with your loved ones, get some rest, and I’ll catch you all back here on the blog real soon.

Until we hang out again … remember this:

Friday Night Blogroll Review

It’s Friday night, and here’s what’s rollin’ at some of my favourite blogs that are near and dear to this blog:

Travis unveiled a sneak-peek of the hot new Life Pointe Church web site that will drop soon !

P.J. posted his ‘Topped Thoughts’, and he’d appreciate it if you’d Twitter with him. If you don’t know what that means then join the club. Maybe he’ll explain it in a future ‘Stuffed Crust Thoughts’.

Jesse becomes ‘Pastor Jesse’ this Sunday morning at Life Pointe Church, but he knows how to disconnect from the office.

Ritz Crackah was nominated in the ‘Best Personality’ category for his high school yearbook. How precious !

The Right Reverend Nathan will be preaching this Sunday night at a revival in West Palm Beach. Incidentally I am accepting the role of President of Chopper Pastor Nathan’s fledgling fan club. (I am a self-admitted ‘Nathan Groupie’.)

Wild chickens make Owen so scared that he shivers. I can relate. I was once attacked by an angry duck right here in my own neighbourhood. It was quite the traumatic experience !
