Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

It’s the 5TH Sunday of May in 2009, and here are my takeaways from Life Pointe Church in Homestead Florida this morning:

– Richie N. is on a mission every Sunday morning at 7:20 AM.
– All he wants to do is transform a movie theatre lobby into a church lobby.
– Anne J. was back in town and taking charge of the Hospitality section.
– J.T. gave free tours of his hot new bright red sports car in-between services.
– J.T. stated that he is NOT having a mid-life crisis.
– J.T. does NOT make old age noises while getting in and out of his low-rider.
– J.T. does NOT wish to get a speeding ticket on the Turnpike.
– Kelly D. was looking for material for her Monday morning show on CALL-FM.
– She may talk about … JUICE.
– Everything was back to normal for the early 9 AM service.
– That’s because Rita B. was back where she belongs.
Pastor Travis led this week’s teaching subtitled ‘Men Of A Revolution’.
– Jesus Christ is my role model.
– He sparked a revolution.
– I wish to constantly lift Him up – not myself or others.
– Nobody even comes close to Him.
– I choose to love God in public.
– I love Him more than any one and any thing.
– I choose to be a revolutionary man.
– The world should be able to clearly see God’s glory in me.
– Where your treasure is – that’s where your heart is.
– Just because you’re strong doesn’t mean you’re superior.
– Just because you’re weak doesn’t mean you’re inferior.
– Jesus honoured us by becoming weak and loving us as is.
– Jesus died for us so that we could live.

This week’s teaching was based on the following Scriptures:
– 1 Peter 3:7
– John 1:1, 14
– Colossians 3:19
– 1 Timothy 2:8
– Titus 2:1, 2, 6
– Ephesians 5:31-32
– 1 Corinthians 7:1-7

Thursday Night Mini Thoughts

– I went to work at 6 AM this morning.
– And I just got home about an hour ago (6:30 PM).
– But I didn’t just get home from work.
– I was at work for 10½ hours.
– 3 of those hours were inside a conference room giving briefings.
– I’m all talked out.
– My voice is hoarse of course of course.
– I don’t think I’ll speak again until … tomorrow morning at work.
– After 10½ hours at work I proceeded directly to Downtown Homestead.
– I met this good friend at this cool place.
– The White Lion Cafe is Homestead’s finest dining establishment – by far.
– I don’t care what Patricia and Venus say about it !
– Any meal out is a real treat for me.
– Eating food is one of my favourite hobbies.
– I could do it all day.
– But where does it all go ?
– It all goes in all of the normal spots, but I just hide it better than others.
– Bigger shirts help out.
– I’m too sexy for my shirt – too sexy for my shirt – so sexy it hurts.
– No not really – not even close.
– Don’t mind me I’m just full of … FOOD !
– So yeah tomorrow is Friday.
– I’ve got your ‘Blogroll Review’ planned for tomorrow night.
– I have a general idea of who will win this week’s ‘Major Bloggie’ award.
– But it’s not too late to get your considerations published on the interwebs.
– Blogging is my ministry.
– It’s my way of helping to expand God’s Kingdom.
– If I can lead one lost soul to God then it’s all worth it.
– I’ve already done that, but I’ll never be satisfied.

My Fantastic Journey: It’s In The Lyrics

This is one of my favourite songs of my 1,000+ day journey. It’s Columbus Ohio dude John Reuben hangin’ out with one of his good buddies – fellow Ohioan Matt Thiessen (of Relient K fame). This is their 2005 Christian Rock smash “Nuisance”.

John Reuben is currently touring the Great U.S. Midwest. Relient K are currently wrapping-up production of their new studio album titled “Forget And Not Slow Down”. It is expected to be released this October.

Life Pointe Church Plantation Key Lime Pie

I’m deviating from the normal ‘Mini Thoughts’ format of the ‘Tossed Salad’ to present a very special edition of the ‘Key Lime Pie’ in standard paragraph format with complete sentences !

This was the Life Pointe Church weekend that actually wasn’t supposed to happen. I had planned to be out-of-town during this long Memorial Day holiday weekend, but those plans never really got off of the ground, so here I am – and there I was.

I senior-skipped the 9 AM service this morning, as I slipped in to the movie theatre shortly after 10 AM. I attended the 10:30 AM service up in the ‘stadium’ seating area. I was able to sit with some really good people behind me and on my row, so that was quite the treat. (I’ll be back to serving again next Sunday morning.)

After the service me and most of those same good people headed on over to Mamma Mia (Italian ristorante) to enjoy some food, fun, and fellowship. It was definitely time well-spent with some good food and some good people.

Later on in the afternoon I visited John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (in Key Largo) for the first time ever. It’s part of my continuing ‘2009 Economic Stimulus Tour’ (of tourist attractions). I mainly checked out the fish tank exhibits within the visitor center, walked a cool nature trail under the hammocks, and sat by the dock of the bay wastin’ time. I plan to do the 2½-hour glass-bottom boat tour of the coral reefs on a future visit to the park.

Following the park adventure I got to experience the 6 PM service at our Plantation Key campus for the first time in over 5 months (since last December). The new church campus is coming along rather nicely, and I was happy and proud to see vibrant Life inside that building. The expansion of God’s Kingdom all around Mile Marker 90 in the Florida Keys is well on its way. Service is done on a more intimate level there than at our Homestead campus. It was rather surreal to experience it all. It had that unique Life Pointe Church flavor to it with that special Plantation Key feel. It was a cool combination. Check it out for yourself whenever you get a chance to head southwestbound.

Pastor Travis spoke to us on the revolutionary woman. It was based on the Good News that is 1 Peter 3:1-6 and Proverbs 31:10-31.

I am looking for a revolutionary woman in my Life that I am attracted to physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Past behaviour is generally a reasonable indication of future behaviour, so one who has disrespected relationships in the past will probably do so in the future as well. This is not always the case – especially if there has been a major life-changing event – such as (in my specific case) – a Rebirthing. Before this journey commenced over 1,000 days ago I always thought that ‘she’ completed me. That will never be the case again. Jesus Christ will always complete me, and He must also complete the revolutionary woman in my Life.

Can you believe it ?  Pastor Travis actually set aside a few minutes earlier today to blog a rare ‘Sunday Wrap-Up’. That’s the cool Travis 2.0 that I know !
