– I enjoy doing these ‘Mini Thoughts’ in 15 words or less.
– It’s because I don’t have to form complete sentences.
– These are known as ‘quickies’.
– That’s because each ‘Mini Thought’ takes 3 seconds or less to read.
– And then you move on to the next one.
– These are spontaneous in nature.
– I have no idea what I’m gonna write until I do so.
– The Stock Market has been surging for the past half a month.
– My retirement savings plan is reaping the benefits of the surge.
– The recession has probably ended already.
– We won’t know for sure that it’s already ended for another 6 months or so.
– Checkers now has wings.
– I haven’t picked-up Checkers food in about a dozen years.
– Nah it hasn’t been that long – but it’s been many years.
– Once upon a time it was part of my weekly Lunch schedule.
– And then I boycotted the place due to bad service.
– I’ll give them another chance – if only to check out their wings.
– I might see “I Love You, Man” this weekend at the box office.
– If I do then I’m hangin’ at Buffalo Wild Wings beforehand.
– The outside of my screened front porch is a magnet for millions of gnats.
– I sprayed Hot Shot Flying Insect Killer on them this afternoon.
– That should do the trick.
– Ruth is one of my favourite rock bands on this journey.
– The’re from Washington State.
– The’re named after their lead singer’s last name.
– ‘RUTH’ is also an acronym for ‘Return Us To Him’.
– They love and follow Jesus.
– In 2007 they brought it with “Cross The Line”.
– In 2008 they rocked my theme song with “Who I Was And Who I Am”.
– In 2009 they hit all the right notes with “Back To The Five”.
– I absolutely adore this song.
– It’s an instant out-of-the-box radio smash !

Bible Stories
It’s just past 9:30 PM on this Wednesday night as I begin this blog entry, and I returned home from Life Group about 20 minutes ago. It was another glorious night in complete awe of Him. It is never about us. It is always about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Leo D. led ‘Praise & Worship’ via guitar as Patricia, Carol, and I sang back-up vocals to “Above All”, “All Creation Worships You”, “You’re Worthy Of My Praise”, and “Let My Words Be Few”. Music is one of my fun hobbies in Life, and it makes it so very special when I can sing to God. He is always listening to me. 31 months ago God used music to rescue me from the darkness, save me, and lead me by His hand onto His journey that He created especially for me. He took something that He knew I enjoyed, and He used it to show me His light.
Tonight’s teaching (led by Leo D.) was based on the following truths out of the Good News:
– Galatians 5:16-26 – ‘Living By The Spirit’s Power’
– Ephesians 6:10-20 – ‘The Whole Armor Of God’
– Matthew 5:3-12 – ‘The Beatitudes’
‘The Whole Armor Of God’ is truly special to me, as it was one of the first Scriptures out of His Good News that I specifically set out to read many times over, analyze, understand its meaning, and learn how I can apply it to this precious new Life of mine. That was early on during this fantastic journey just about 2 years ago. Anne J. was one of my early Life Pointe Church mentors during this fragile period of my journey. Shortly after I bought my very first Bible ever (New Living Translation – recommended by another mentor Pastor Travis) Anne J. bought me a really nice cover to protect my Bible. Down at the bottom of the front of the cover there’s an inscription of a sword followed by ‘Eph. 6:17’.
Ephesians 6:17 – Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
I will always wear ‘The Whole Armor Of God’ to protect me from future invasions of evil and darkness. Satan doesn’t know who I am anymore, but that’s not going to stop him from trying even harder to bring me back to his world of sins. He’s a total loser. God’s in charge here. He’s all-powerful. He’s awesome !
– Today I began my 27TH month as part of the Life Pointe Church family.
– It’s also the start of my 32ND month following God.
– I’m not gonna stop counting the months until I reach the top.
– It was great to see all of the Johnsons back in town.
– It was also great to Jesse and Alex back in biz again up on stage.
– I missed everyone while they were away changing lives for the better.
– Jesse and Alex are my two favourite rock stars in the universe.
– We got to hear their hot new album loud and proud in the main lobby.
– “So Alive” is the breakout smash of the month as far as I’m concerned.

– Pastor Travis was back up on stage leading us in this week’s teaching.
– This morning’s topic – ‘The Challenge Of Obedience’.
– The Bible says – ‘If you love me, obey my commandments.’
– I love and trust God; therefore, I obey Him.
– Reading His word is easy, but applying it can be hard at times.
– I may not agree with everything that is in the Good News.
– That’s irrelevant, for I must still obey His every word.
– It’s easier to obey with a positive attitude.
– I once had a negative attitude towards generally everything.
– That was part of the evil and darkness that once consumed me.
– God rescued me from all of that in August of 2006.
– He directed me to release all of my anger and set it free.
– He instructed me to give up my worldly plans.
– He set a new agenda for me, and I was reborn.
– I will never be perfect.
– God is the only perfect One.
– I hope to look more and more like Jesus.
– The world should be able to see His good work being done within me.
This morning’s teaching was based on the following 8 verses of the Bible:
– John 14:15
– Romans 8:38
– 2 Timothy 3:16-17
– Philippians 1:12
– Romans 8:28
– 1 John 1:8-9
Bible Stories
TONIGHT was Life Group night, and no matter how late I end up arriving it always seems like I’m still the first one there. That was the case tonight as well. I arrived at the house of Patricia N., and she informed me that she and the rest of her neighbourhood had no electricity (due to the heavy rains of the afternoon). She had her entire living room and dining room lit up with beautiful candles. She joked that she wasted all of her ‘romantic evening’ candles on us. There were so many candles in that room that I wanted to take my usual place behind the main table and offer the symbolic body and blood of Christ in Communion.
Once our Life Group got all settled and in-place we enjoyed ‘Praise & Worship’ as Leo D. led us by guitar (unplugged) and we all sang in unison to our Lord and Saviour up above and all around. We sang several hymns including “Above All” and “All Who Are Thirsty (Come Lord Jesus, Come)”. The Angels in Heaven were cheering us on as we sang proudly to Him.
I led tonight’s teaching on the real man that was Jesus Christ. He was a real man who lived on this Earth and faced the same general day-to-day challenges as we all do on this journey. He was encouraged and cheered on by his friends and followers. He was ridiculed, persecuted, hurt, and abused by his enemies and antagonists. He was just like us – with one glaring exception. He was without sin.
Tonight’s lesson was all about being more like Jesus. We’ll never be as perfect in every way as Jesus, but our goal should always be to get closer to His every way. We are to be His eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet here on Earth. We are to be His Disciples here on Earth.
Jesus is far more powerful and superiour to Satan, but Satan is always working hard to tempt us when we are at our most vulnerable stages of Life. Satan always takes the easy way out, and he’s always hoping that we’ll do the same as well and join the party of evil and darkness. It’s easy to do what the world is doing. That’s what Satan wants us to do. Following Satan will lead us straight to hell. Following Jesus and totally believing and trusting in Him is the only way to get to Heaven. There is no other way.
