He was once one-half of All Sons & Daughters. You may be familiar with “Great Are You Lord” from their 2013 LIVE album. David’s been solo over the past several years, and now he’s got a breakthrough hit at U.S. Christian Radio. Here’s the official music video for his uplifting #GoodLord:

My Top 10 Hits – Week 282

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back nearly 45 years. Here’s this week’s chart – for the week ending Sunday July 10TH 2022 – the 282ND week of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017:

TW LW WKS SONG TITLE ARTIST / SITE
1 4 4 Getting Started
[1ST week @ # 1]
Jeremy Camp
2 1 10 Me On Your Mind Matthew West
3 3 7 Love Is Everything We Need Unspoken
4 2 22 Sunday Sermons Anne Wilson
5 5 4 Hold You Tight Dan Bremnes
6 8 24 See Me Through It Brandon Heath
7 9 24 Brighter Days Blessing Offor
8 6 16 Fill My Cup Andrew Ripp
9 1 The Goodness TobyMac Ft. Blessing Offor
10 10 3 Thank God For Sunday Morning Cochren & Co.

# 1 This Week In:
2021 – “Be Alright” – Evan Craft X Danny Gokey X Redimi2
2020 – “Keep Me In The Moment” – Jeremy Camp
2019 – “Church (Take Me Back)” – Cochren & Co.
2018 – “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship
2017 – “The Comeback” – Danny Gokey

NEW # 1 – This one surprised even me, and this is my own chart. After just 2 weeks at # 1 (as my 500TH # 1) Matthew West slips unexpectedly to # 2 with “Me On Your Mind”. Replacing Matthew is another one of my favorite singers – Jeremy Camp. His 7TH single since 2017 (8TH overall) is now his 4TH # 1 smash, as “Getting Started” ascends to the top. Released as a radio single in late-February it took a little while to become a hit. It’s his 2ND single from his 2021 album “When You Speak” which he wrote in 2020 during the onset and peak of the pandemic.

UNSPOKEN – Their 5TH single is a Top 3 hit, and I love its feel on the radio. I also love its lyrics – particularly these:

♫ The devil is crafty and we fall right into his trap
We might not be swinging our fists
But we’ll talk behind somebody’s back
How we gonna look like Jesus
When we’re only looking out for ourselves
Real love is giving our lives for somebody else ♫

That’ll preach, for “Love Is Everything We Need”.

My Top 10 Hits – Week 281

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back nearly 45 years. Here’s this week’s chart – for the week ending Sunday July 03RD 2022 – the 281ST week of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017:

TW LW WKS SONG TITLE ARTIST / SITE
1 1 9 Me On Your Mind
[2ND week @ # 1]
Matthew West
2 2 21 Sunday Sermons Anne Wilson
3 3 6 Love Is Everything We Need Unspoken
4 9 3 Getting Started Jeremy Camp
5 8 3 Hold You Tight Dan Bremnes
6 4 15 Fill My Cup Andrew Ripp
7 5 17 Egypt Cory Asbury
8 6 23 See Me Through It Brandon Heath
9 7 23 Brighter Days Blessing Offor
10 10 2 Thank God For Sunday Morning Cochren & Co.

# 1 This Week In:
2021 – “Yes He Can” – Cain
2020 – “Keep Me In The Moment” – Jeremy Camp
2019 – “Church (Take Me Back)” – Cochren & Co.
2018 – “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship
2017 – “The Comeback” – Danny Gokey

4TH OF JULY # 1 – I usually don’t mention it, but a couple of months prior (May) I try to figure out who and what will be my # 1 smash on the 4TH Of July. I had a feeling that Matthew West would be the who – with “Me On Your Mind” as the what. It’s the typical Matthew West song of the past 5+ years, and he has never failed to reach either # 1 or # 2 on my chart. That’s why he’s my favorite singer – and awards show host.

JEREMY CAMP – He’s statistically my 4TH favorite singer over the past 281 weeks. Like Matthew West he’s got his 7TH single on my chart over the same time-period. “Getting Started” just sounds good on the radio. Set to a peppy beat – it’s a song for all the broken-hearted. I believe you’re only getting started:

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 5 new entries – known as #TravelThursday, #RetroFriday#SundayScripture, #Top10Monday, and a special blog post that starts the new weekend tomorrow !

My Top 10 Hits – Week 280

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back nearly 45 years. Here’s this week’s chart – for the week ending Sunday June 26TH 2022 – the 280TH week of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017:

TW LW WKS SONG TITLE ARTIST / SITE
1 2 8 Me On Your Mind
[1ST week @ # 1]
Matthew West
2 1 20 Sunday Sermons Anne Wilson
3 5 5 Love Is Everything We Need Unspoken
4 3 14 Fill My Cup Andrew Ripp
5 4 16 Egypt Cory Asbury
6 7 22 See Me Through It Brandon Heath
7 8 22 Brighter Days Blessing Offor
8 9 2 Hold You Tight Dan Bremnes
9 10 2 Getting Started Jeremy Camp
10 1 Thank God For Sunday Morning Cochren & Co.

# 1 This Week In:
2021 – “Yes He Can” – Cain
2020 – “Keep Me In The Moment” – Jeremy Camp
2019 – “Church (Take Me Back)” – Cochren & Co.
2018 – “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship
2017 – “Home” – Chris Tomlin

500TH # 1 – My # 1 artist (by far) over the past 280 weeks claims my 500TH # 1 smash over the past 37 years (minus hiatus years). It’s Matthew West, and it’s his 5TH # 1 smash – 4TH as a solo artist. When I saw his passionate performance of “Me On Your Mind” at the recent K-LOVE Fan Awards – I knew I was hearing a future chart-topper. Thank You Matthew for such an uplifting song.

♫ Who am I that the King of the world
Would give one single thought about my broken heart ?
Who am I that the God of all grace
Wipes the tears from my face, and says “Come as you are” ?
You paid the price. You took the cross.
You gave Your life. And You did it all.
With me on Your mind – me on Your mind ♫

400TH # 1 – I was just wondering myself – when and what was my 400TH # 1 smash ? It was 14 years ago this month back in 2008 towards the end of the 2ND year of my Salvation Era (2006-2010). Demon Hunter hit # 1 with “Fading Away”. It was a metallic hardcore song about waiting to being rescued by the Savior – straight out of the gates of hell. It was a powerful song for the era. The band from Seattle Washington are still around. They are celebrating “Twenty Years In Exile” with a tour and new music.

This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 5 new entries – known as  #TravelThursday, #RetroFriday#SundayScripture, a special #IndependenceDay post on the 4TH Of July, and #Top10Monday on Tuesday.
