WHERE WOULD I BE – There’s a new # 1 song this week, and I’m not referring to this week’s # 1 smash from Elevation Rhythm. There’s a new # 1 song of all-time – or at least this current era of the past 491 weeks. It’s Peter Burton’s debut smash “Where Would I Be”. At 14 weeks it’s the longest-running # 1 smash of the era (and second-longest-running in the entire 40-year history of my chart going back to 1985). After 26 weeks – it’s accumulated 220 chart points, and that’s tied with two other hits at 220, but “Where Would I Be” gets the top claim due to its most weeks at # 1.

SALVATION ERA – As a recap – I’m celebrating my upcoming 20TH anniversary of salvation in Christ with a look back at the soundtrack of my life as a baby Christian during those first 3½ years from August 2006 to January 2010. These are the songs about God that were playing on the radio at the time, and I was singing along and understanding the lyrics. We’re 8 weeks in, and my # 8 hit of the era is the first track from those hard rockers known as Disciple. “After The World” was their 2ND of 7 hits during the era. It was their follow-up to their debut hit (on my chart) “Regime Change” that introduced me to the Knoxville Tennessee-based band. They are now in their 34TH year together; although, Kevin Young – the lead singer – is the only original member remaining. (He formed the band as a teenager.) “After The World” was from their Dove award-winning album “Scars Remain”.

SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 10 Hits” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 10 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 10, or you can shuffle them. My playlist will be updated every weekend (usually before the actual chart is presented here on Mondays). You can link to it here.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. God used loud music on the radio in South Florida to reach me in August of 2006. I’ve been testifying about Him ever since.

Be blessed my friends !  May our God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

My Top 10 Hits – Week 490

Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back almost 50 years. Here’s this week’s chart – for the week ending Sunday July 05TH 2026 – the 490TH week of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017:

TW LW WKS SONG TITLE ARTIST / SITE
1 3 6 Washed

2 1 25 Finished Caleb & John
3 2 15 Everything Is Better Hopeful.
4 5 25 Where Would I Be Peter Burton
5 8 10 Somebody’s Praying Bay Turner
6 4 12 Worthy Of It All (Worthy) CeCe Winans
7 7 10 demons Josiah Queen
8 1 The Author Brandon Lake Ft. Nick Jonas
9 9 8 Perfectly Micah Tyler
10 1 Ain’t No Way Jamie MacDonald

2025 – “The King Is In The Room” – Phil Wickham
2024 – “Somebody Like Me” – Caleb & John Ft. Cain
2023 – “Holy Forever” – Chris Tomlin
2022 – “Me On Your Mind” – Matthew West
2021 – “Yes He Can” – Cain
2020 – “Keep Me In The Moment” – Jeremy Camp
2019 – “Church (Take Me Back)” – Cochren & Co.
2018 – “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship
2017 – “The Comeback” – Danny Gokey

ELEVATION RHYTHM – “Washed” was a surprise re-entry 2 weeks ago, my fastest climber (surging 4 notches into my Top 3) last week, and now it’s my new # 1 smash. It’s also # 1 on the national airplay charts. The young crew from Charlotte North Carolina’s Elevation Church also hit # 1 with their debut hit “Goodbye Yesterday” 16 months ago.

SALVATION ERA – The #CountUp continues. I don’t understand what an “F-Stop” is, but it has to do with cameras and photography. And Sullivan’s song “F-Stop” does indeed mention photographs within its quirky lyrics. I particularly like the lyrics that go – “If you don’t believe in God you will now. I’ve got hooks and a chain that will fit you well. So save your air.” This hard pop-punk track was all over younger-skewing Christian Rock Radio in 2007. It was such a great sounding song from the Greensboro North Carolina-based band Sullivan. It spent 17 weeks on my chart, and 11 of them were stuck at # 2 – behind two other great pop-punk bands at the time – Eleventyseven and The Wedding. It was my # 3 hit of all of 2007, and it’s my # 7 hit overall from August 2006 to January 2010.

It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back almost 50 years. Here’s this week’s chart – for the week ending Sunday June 28TH 2026 – the 489TH week of this current era that began on Presidents’ Day Weekend of 2017:

2019 – “Church (Take Me Back)” – Cochren & Co.
2018 – “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship
2017 – “Home” – Chris Tomlin

ELEVATION RHYTHM – “Washed” was a surprise re-entry last week, and this week it surges 4 notches into my Top 3. Originally released online 9 months ago – it took a while to make it onto the radio. It’s been a slow climb to the top, but the hum-along sing-along anthem has become a favorite nationwide – now at # 3 in airplay from coast-to-coast.

SALVATION ERA – The #CountUp continues. Last week I revealed my # 5 hit overall from August 2006 to January 2010 – “Word Of Mouth” – from John Reuben. His longtime friend and collaborator – TobyMac – is at # 6 with what many consider to be his signature song – “Made To Love”. It still gets airplay nearly 20 years later. It’s appropriate for it to be my # 6 hit overall since it entered my chart the exact same week as “Word Of Mouth”. The two songs spent the exact same 26 weeks on my chart – both falling off my chart at the same time. When “Made For Love” was spending its 5 weeks at # 1 – “Word Of Mouth” was spending its 5 weeks at # 2. Both songs were one notch apart all 26 weeks !

SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 10 Hits” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 10 hits are there from top to bottom. HOPEFUL. – Their feel-good song of the summer surges back up 2 notches this week to # 2 on the strength of renewed airplay on The Joy FM. (I’m also starting to listen to Life 107.1 out of Des Moines Iowa.) Hopeful. (with the intentional period) believe that since Jesus died for us – hope exists. End-of-story. Don’t let the dark and stormy nights consume you. Follow the light. Follow the hope that is God. Be Hopeful.

SALVATION ERA – The #CountUp continues. My # 5 hit overall from August 2006 to January 2010 was my biggest # 2 hit of the era – “Word Of Mouth” – from Mr. John Reuben. The pop-friendly rap / hip-hop song spent 26 weeks of 2007 on my chart, and it was my # 1 smash of the entire year despite peaking at # 2 (for 5 weeks). It was his first of 3 big hits on my chart that year – preceding “Make Money Money” and “Good Evening”. It was nominated for a 2008 GMA Dove Award.
