Bedtime Stories

It’s the first day of August in 2008, and August has been quite significant in my Life over the past couple of years. Last year it signified the beginning of a once unthinkable career rejuvenation at work. This past year has been – by far – the greatest year of my 23-year USAF / DOD career. It just keeps on getting better too !  Two years ago in August 2006 I was saved and reborn. God guided and directed me onto His fantastic journey. It’s always exciting following Him !

I’m planning to sleep-in tomorrow (Saturday) morning. It’s been a long crazy week at work, and I need the relaxation. Later tomorrow I think I’ll go to the mall and see a movie and eat dinner with a friend of mine. It’s been a real long time since I did something like that. I’m looking forward to it !

Be sure to check out this groovy blog tomorrow to see what’s up. Don’t forget about the slammin’ ‘Saturday Night Fever’ disco party streaming LIVE on here starting at 9 PM. It’s three solid gold hours of decadent disco music from 1978 with your host with the most – ‘Dr. Chris Da Cool Disco Cat’ (DC.DC.DC) !

(Just kidding. Maybe I’ll do a Saturday Night movie review on here in lieu of that.)

Until then keep it real, and REMEMBER THIS Bubblicious television commercial from about 28 years ago !

Good Night Ela !

Rain In Homestead: The Continuing Saga

7.86 inches of rain officially at Homestead ARB FL – that’s how much we got during the entire month of July. It’s a bit below average.

Add that to the 11.46 inches in June and the 1.96 inches during the second half of May, and so far during this rainy season we’ve received over 21 inches of rain.

But hold the umbrella right there my friend. We all know how extremely localized our summertime showers and thunderstorms can be. Sure an exact location on the air base has received over 21 inches of rain, but what about the surrounding area in and around Homestead ?

Generally you can estimate the total precipitation of a particular location (such as your neighbourhood) over an extended period of time within two inches in either direction of a nearby official reporting location; therefore, it is reasonable to state that ‘the Homestead area’ has thus far received anywhere from 20 to 24 inches of rain since the middle of May.

This stuff excites me !  😀

Friday Night Blogroll Review

Greetings My Friends,

It’s Friday night, so you know what that means here on the big blog:

Pastor Travis shares a frightening picture of Casey.

My favourite blogger in the entire world is LL Phil J. His daily blog has a status of ‘can’t miss’ as far as I’m concerned. This cat reminds me of me more than anyone else I know. It’s always a (fun) chore trying to pick out my favourite blog entry of the week from his blog. I know this is repetitive, but you’ve just gotta check out his ‘Thought Bearing Lobster‘ from this past Thursday. His ‘Thoughts’ on Thursdays are pretty much his version of my long-running flagship series on this blog – the ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’. I adore his Thursday ‘Thoughts’ !

Jesse ponders about who his friends are.

Ritz reveals how Internet surfers find his blog.

Rebecca does the same as Ritz, but she did it two days earlier.

Birthdays are a BIG deal at Luci’s house, and as usual water is involved.

Gricelda reports on the start of Youth Camp for our emerging leaders at Life Pointe Church.

I got a brief mention on David C.’s ‘Sunday’ report from Life Pointe Church. In it I am ‘vacuuming the carpet’. Thank You David for the keen observation of the week !
