This Saturday June 05TH 2021 is my 54TH birthday ! I was born at 10:13 PM CDT in Room 340 at Selma Baptist Hospital in Selma Alabama. My Dad was stationed at nearby Craig Air Force Base at the time. We were there until early in 1969, and then my Dad left the USAF to begin a new career in life insurance. We moved to Greenbelt Maryland (just outside of Washington D.C.). That’s where my Dad was born and raised (D.C. and adjacent Prince Georges County Maryland). He lived there for the first 22 years of his life. After graduating from Bladensburg High School (Class Of 1959) he attended 4 years at the University Of Maryland in College Park. He joined the USAF in 1963.
Fast forward to June 05TH 1971 (also a Saturday), and here’s the scene with me – 50 years ago:

Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight) [3RD week @ # 1]
# 1 This Week In: 2020 – “I Will Fear No More” – The Afters 2019 – “Born Again” – Austin French 2018 – “The Way (New Horizon)” – Pat Barrett 2017 – “Live Like You’re Loved” – Hawk Nelson
TobyMac is at # 1 for a 3RD week with his smash “Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight)”. It’s got the 3RD “most increased plays” this week at U.S. Christian radio (large market), and it will very likely hit # 1 nationally in a couple of weeks.
Last week’s BUBBLING UNDER is this week’s highest new entry – straight-in to my Top 5 at # 5. I love the new Ryan Stevenson track “When We Fall Apart”. It’s actually a re-recorded version of the song that was originally released as a single late in 2019 and included on his 2020 album “Wildest Dreams”. The new version features country music singer Vince Gill and his wife of 21 years – pop star Amy Grant. It sounds great on the radio; although, the lyrics do make my eyes water a bit. It’s OK to cry. It’s OK to fall apart.
Here’s the official lyric video for “When We Fall Apart”:
June has arrived, and Summer is here in the U.S.A. It’s going to be a fun Summer, and I’ll be here all season long continuing my 4 blog posts per weekend schedule. This is actually my 5TH blog post for this holiday weekend, so I’ve got a quick turnaround of just 48 hours before my next weekend of blogging begins.
This concludes another weekend of blog posts. I’ll do it again this upcoming weekend – with 4 new entries on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I don’t blog on Saturdays. That’s my day of rest.
Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. I’m also on Twitter and Flickr.
