2020 – “Almost Home” – MercyMe
2019
– “Nobody (But Jesus)” – Casting Crowns Ft. Matthew West
2018
– “Do It Again” – Elevation Worship
2017
– “Broken Things” – Matthew West

PATRICK MAYBERRY – The 3RD time was a charm for the man from Tennessee. His “Holy Spirit Come” was a # 2 hit in 2022. He followed that up with “Easy To Praise” – a # 6 hit in 2023. And then came “Lead On Good Shepherd”. It languished at the bottom of my chart for 5 weeks before breaking through. It eventually spent 22 weeks in a row in my Top 5, 16 weeks in a row in my Top 3, 12 weeks at # 2, and 2 weeks at # 1. It’s my # 2 hit of this current era of the past 411 weeks.

CALEB & JOHN – Their debut smash was certainly that, as “Hallelujah Feeling” became my # 1 smash overall of this current era of the past 411 weeks. It also finished as my # 19 hit of 2024. It was also my # 5 hit of 2023, as it straddled both years. And then they followed that up with “Somebody Like Me” – which spent 26 weeks on my chart. It’s my # 6 hit overall of this current era, and it’s my # 2 hit of 2024. It was also my # 1 smash of the Summer Of 2024.

REPEATING ARTISTS – Caleb & John, Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham, for King + Country, Housefires Ft. JWLKRS Worship, and TobyMac are the 6 artists / collaborations who were also on My Top 23 Of 2023 chart a year ago. My # 1 artist of this current era – Matthew West – ended a 7-year streak on my year-end chart (from 2017 to 2023). His only song this year – “Don’t Stop Praying” – while it was a big hit nationwide – stalled at # 8 on my chart.

CONCLUSION – My Top 24 Of 2024 chart was compiled by awarding 10 points for each week at # 1, 9 points for # 2, and so forth and so on down to 1 point for # 10. The points were then added, and the hits were ranked. 58 songs charted in 2024. There were 14 # 1 hits, and they all made it onto my chart above. 5 hits peaked at # 2 (including a # 1 smash from 2023), and they all made it onto my chart above. It was a great year for positive and encouraging music on the radio that told the story of God and gave Him all of the glory. What a great chart to represent His music. Let’s continue to praise and worship Him as we go forth into 2025.

SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 24 Of 2024” anytime by accessing my playlist on Spotify. All 24 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 24, or you can shuffle them. You can link to it here. It’s 1 hour and 22 minutes of the greatest hits of 2024 !

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. God used loud music on the radio in South Florida to reach me in August of 2006. I’ve been testifying about Him ever since.

Be blessed my friends !  May our God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

With K-LOVE and The Joy FM heavy into their continuous Christmas music – I listened to a little bit of The Message on SiriusXM, and even that was available via streaming only (not in the car). Even my # 1 smash hits from previous years are the same – save one – and that’s 2017 – when Skillet ascended to the top of my last chart of the year with “Lions”.

TOP 24 OF 2024 – Tomorrow at 3 AM U.S. East Coast time I’ll publish my Top 24 hits of 2024. Spoiler: One artist in particular is not on my year-end chart for the first time in this era.

SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 10 Hits” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 10 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 10, or you can shuffle them. My playlist will be updated every weekend (usually before the actual chart is presented here on Mondays). Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday December 29TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

It’s my 52ND and final #SundayScripture of 2024. It’s my 340TH edition since 2018. I enjoy writing this feature each week, and I’ll continue to do so in 2025. Thank You for coming back here every Sunday to read what I’ve written about our Glorious God Almighty !

Personally – 2024 was a great year for me. It was a year of transition – life-changing transition. I retired from the USAF after nearly 39 years of military and civil service. For the first time since the age of 13 – I’m no longer working for money.

I became a full-time resident of my dream home in my dream neighborhood in my dream part of Florida – spending 88.5% of 2024 at home in Sebring (up from 54% in 2023).

I chose a new home church in September 2023, and in 2024 I assimilated myself into my church – not just on Sunday mornings, but also during the week. In November I was secretly selected to be part of the Directional Board of Highlands Community Church. In December I was publicly affirmed at our annual business meeting. I officially begin serving in that role as the new year starts.

God has blessed me with a physically and socially active life here in Sebring – complemented by a strong family of friends and neighbors at home, at church, and at the Museum (Sebring Historical Society). I’m far busier now than I ever was back at my previous place of residence.

I’m in my 19TH year of salvation here on this fantastic journey. (Salvation started during the 3RD week of August of 2006, and it continues to this day.) I did not want my 19TH year to be like my 18TH year. My 18TH year was great, but I wanted my 19TH year to be greater. You can’t get greater if you keep doing the same old things that you previously did. God created a new thing for you to do, and He wants you to trust Him as you move forth. Do that in 2025. Do something new. Move in a different direction. God wants your 2025 to be greater than your 2024 – no matter how great (or not) your 2024 was.

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
Behold – I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it ?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

(Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV)

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know – then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

Walking Around The Neighborhood

Welcome back to #TravelThursday. While most of my travel posts have to do with driving or flying somewhere – this post is about another form of transportation – my own two feet.

17 years ago this past Christmas Eve I started something new that I had never done before. I intentional walked around my neighborhood. I did it for a few reasons back in 2007. I did it for fitness – to get healthier and stronger. (I was neither back then.) I did it to honor my dad. He was slowly losing the ability to walk due to the effects of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) – AKA “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”. I did it for my Lord + Savior Jesus Christ – to thank Him for rescuing me and saving me and blessing me with His gifts – such as the gift to pray for my neighbors, and my neighborhood, and my city, and beyond.

This is the start of my 18TH year of walking around my neighborhood. (Technically – each season begins near the start of the dry season here in South and South-Central Florida.) In this 18TH season – I’m still walking for fitness, and for my dad in Heaven, and for God. And when I walk around my neighborhood – I’m praying for my neighbors, and for my neighborhood, and for Sebring, and beyond. The Lord placed me in my dream home – in my dream neighborhood – in my dream part of Florida. I can’t stop thanking Him for that, for I’m living my best life today !

Statistically – Season 17 (2023-2024) – was the biggest one yet. I walked 87 times for a total of 113.50 miles. That’s an average of 1.30 miles per walk. I walked from September 2023 through July 2024. Season 18 started this past September 2024. My goal for this season is to walk 100 times. I’m about one-fourth of the way there, and I’m way behind last season’s numbers at this point. I need to get to steppin’ !

Next #TravelThursday – I’ll write about my driving year in review. Let’s keep traveling together.

#CountUp & #TravelThursday is on Facebook. I usually post there on Mondays and Thursdays. I’m also the Social Media Director for the Sebring Historical Society. I post on our Facebook page 6 days a week – Mondays to Saturdays.
