SETH SCHLUETER – His follow-up to his 2024 breakout smash – “Counting My Blessings” – ascends to the top of my chart this week. “Running Back To You” becomes my 2ND # 1 of 2025, my 107TH # 1 of this current era (since 2017), and my 531ST # 1 of the 40-year history of my chart. “Running Back To You” is a salvation and testimony song that I can truly relate to. It starts before Christ (in my case – before August of 2006), and as Seph writes and sings – “I was an orphan defined by mistakes. Thought I was forsaken that You gave up the chase. I went to the reaches to try and ease the ache. Turned my back on the One who kept calling my name. You kept calling my name. Didn’t matter where I was at. You just kept calling me back.”

SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 10 Hits” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 10 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 10, or you can shuffle them. My playlist will be updated every weekend (usually before the actual chart is presented here on Mondays). You can link to it here.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. God used loud music on the radio in South Florida to reach me in August of 2006. I’ve been testifying about Him ever since.

Be blessed my friends !  May our God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday January 19TH 2025, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

Last Sunday morning I drove 3+ hours – straight to my former home church in Homestead Florida (Living Waters Full Gospel Church). I setup all of the electronic devices and equipment, I sang with two others for Praise & Worship (3 songs), and then I preached my sermon on King Solomon and his God-given wisdom. Everything worked out perfectly, and the sermon was well-received. I prayed about that during much of the 3+ hour drive southward. God be the Glory.

Normally the sermons are presented LIVE (and forever thereafter) on the church’s Facebook page, and it’s done so via iPad, but I filled-in for both the Lead Pastor and the Worship Pastor who were both out. So – no iPad and no Facebook video. I may eventually transcribe my sermon here on #SundayScripture (as I’ve done with 9 previous sermons).

I drove back home to Sebring the very next morning. It was my quickest turnaround between Homestead and Sebring ever. This past week it was back to business in my neighborhood, at the museum, and at my home church (Highlands Community Church). As I preached last Sunday morning – I need God’s wisdom in everything I do and everywhere I go.

Proverbs 3:13-20:
Joyful is the person who finds wisdom – the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths. All her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her. Happy are those who hold her tightly. By wisdom the Lord founded the earth. By understanding he created the heavens. By his knowledge the deep fountains of the earth burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the night sky.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know – then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

From Bowie To Lanham

Welcome back to #TravelThursday. This is a change-of-pace edition. I’m reminiscing about what me and parents were doing exactly 50 years ago – back in January of 1975. I was in the 2ND grade at the time in Catholic School in Seabrook Maryland (adjacent to Lanham). My dad worked in downtown Washington D.C. at a life insurance company at 2020 M Street NW. (I can’t believe that I still remember that.)

Early in 1972 we moved from Greenbelt Maryland (adjacent to Lanham) to Bowie. Our brand-new house in Bowie was located about 15 miles away from our apartment in Greenbelt. After 3 years in Bowie – my dad got tired of the long rush-hour drives to and from downtown Washington via John Hanson Highway (U.S. 50). I remember some of those rush-hour traffic back-ups. My dad would take me with him to his office sometimes.

My dad had enough of it. By the end of 1974 he realized that perhaps he made a mistake by moving us out to Bowie. He looked at a brand-new neighborhood being built in Lanham directly behind the apartment complex that we lived in for 3 years before 1972. It even had an elementary school right in the middle of it. He and my mom found the perfect house under construction on the street behind that school. I think it cost $59,900 at the time. He bought it. We moved in 50 years ago next month. I attended 3RD, 4TH, 5TH, and 6TH grades at that school. I think it was the only time that I actually enjoyed going to school. I have lots of vivid memories of my friends, my teachers, and my classrooms from that era.

My dad’s parents – my grandparents – lived just a mile up the road from both our apartment before 1972, and our house starting in 1975. By the time I was 12 and 13 – I was riding my bike on my own to and from my grandparents’ house – just to visit them.

Next #TravelThursday – I’ll write about a U.S. state that I’ve never been to before. Let’s keep traveling together.

WE ARE MESSENGERS – The band originally from Monaghan Ireland are back with their 10TH hit since 2017, as “A Thousand Times” enters at # 8. It’s their follow-up to last year’s “God Be The Glory”. Statistically (based on chart performance) – they are my # 11 artist of this current era. Realistically – they are one of my favorite artists on the radio and LIVE in concert. I’ve seen Darren and the band LIVE 3 times – in 2019, 2021, and 2023. They put on an energetic set with all of their hits that can’t stop me from singing and YES – even dancing along. “Point To You” sounds amazing LIVE !
