Every Monday I post my all-new Top 10 Christian hit music chart based on personal preference and influenced by radio airplay from the previous week. It’s the continuation of a weekly hobby that goes back almost 50 years. And now – it’s a special based on all of my weekly charts of this year – My Top 25 Hits of 2025:

# 1 For The Year In:
2024 – “Lead On Good Shepherd” – Patrick Mayberry

PHIL WICKHAM – His 12TH hit since 2018 is his biggest hit ever, and it’s also my # 1 smash of the entire year (by a large 37-point margin over my # 2 hit). “What An Awesome God” entered my chart during the 4TH weekend of June while its predecessor – “The King Is In The Room” – was in its 7TH week on my chart. The latter would reach # 1 a couple of weeks later and spend a total of 23 weeks on my chart – finishing as my # 5 hit of 2025. Phil’s 2 hits combined spent 5 weeks at # 1, 9 weeks at # 2, and 5 weeks at # 3. Out of a combined 51 weeks on my chart – “What An Awesome God” and “The King Is In The Room” spent 38 weeks in my Top 5. This Just In – Phil Wickham had an awesome 2025 as he glorified our awesome God – the King !

ANDREW RIPP – His (not a) “Breakdown” was my # 2 hit of the entire year, as it spent 5 weeks at # 1 and 26 weeks on my chart from June to December. Never underestimate a song that spent its first 4 weeks at # 10 & # 9. It was his follow-up to “Love’s Got A Way” – which also spent 26 weeks on my chart (from October 2024 to March 2025). It was my # 17 hit of 2024, and it was also my # 16 hit of 2025. Its chart run was split evenly between 2024 and 2025 at 13 weeks apiece. Andrew is my # 13 artist over the past (nearly) 9 years with his 6 hits. Not bad since his first hit – “Jericho” – didn’t arrive until October 2020, and it was a # 1 smash.

JOSIAH QUEEN X BRANDON LAKE – Aside from Phil Wickham and Andrew Ripp – the other 2 artists with 2 songs apiece on my Top 25 Of 2025 are Josiah and Brandon. They did it together on one song – “Can’t Steal My Joy” – which was my longest-running # 1 smash of 2025 at 10 weeks. Josiah followed it up with “Dusty Bibles”, and Brandon preceded it with the final 9 weeks of “That’s Who I Praise” – which also finished as the # 16 hit of 2024.

REPEATING ARTISTS – Phil Wickham, Andrew Ripp, Josiah Queen, Brandon Lake, JWLKRS Worship, TobyMac, Seph Schlueter, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Forrest Frank are the 9 artists who were also on My Top 24 Of 2024 chart a year ago. Phil Wickham, Brandon Lake, JWLKRS Worship, and TobyMac have now been on my last 3 year-end charts. My # 1 artist of this current era – Matthew West – who ended a 7-year streak on my year-end chart (from 2017 to 2023) – was back on for 2025 with his big hit “Unashamed”.

CONCLUSION – My Top 25 Of 2025 chart was compiled by awarding 10 points for each week at # 1, 9 points for # 2, and so forth and so on down to 1 point for # 10. The points were then added, and the hits were ranked. 49 songs charted in 2025. That’s way down from the 58 songs that charted in 2024. There were 16 # 1 hits, and they all made it onto my chart above. 5 hits peaked at # 2, and they all made it onto my chart above. It was a great year for positive and encouraging music on the radio that told the story of God and gave Him all of the glory. What a great chart to represent His music. Let’s continue to praise and worship Him as we go forth into 2026.
