Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts

1.  Hurricane Ike has passed us by well to our south, and that’s exactly what I forecasted it to do last week. As Ike was heading in this general direction suddenly everyone around me had become instant hurricane experts. I had to listen to a lot of ridiculous explanations about how hurricanes interact with high pressure systems and such. Some of it even defied science !  I merely listened and kept quiet, but it was very hard to do so at times. After all is said and done one thing is certain. I got it right.

2.  Today and tomorrow (while supplies last) you can pick up 3-dozen assorted fresh-baked cookies from Publix (where shopping is a pleasure) for the low low price of just $3.49 (on sale from the regular price of $5.09). At $3.49 for 3-dozen that’s less than a dime per cookie. Dude that rocks my world !

3.  I ended a self-imposed 99-day boycott of The Atlanta Bread Company yesterday morning. I actually ate Lunch there. The meal was not very good, and the customer service was not very good. My hot sandwich was cold, and I didn’t even receive the potato chips that come with it. I had to walk back up to the counter to retrieve them. It’s a nice fancy restaurant decor wise. It’s a shame that the food and the service don’t match the decor.

4.  My brother should resurrect his WordPress blog. Even if he only blogs in it once a week that would be good enough. How about a funny TOP 10 list or something similiar to my weekly ‘Monday Night Countdown’ ?  My brother is the funniest guy I know. He’s also cooler than global warming.

5.  I’m going on this trip next May into June:

America's Magnificent National Parks
My Vacation Next May Into June

It includes 3 states that I’ve never set foot in – Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. It’ll be another vacation of a lifetime.

What do Hurricane Ike, The Atlanta Bread Company, and Big Sky Country all have in common ?  They’ll all be featured on tomorrow’s ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’. It’s what’s on my mind. It’s what I care to share. Be sure to check it out. You won’t regret it pal.

ALSO I’ll have ‘My NFL Weekend Game Picks: The Results Show’. Find out how I did with my 16 game picks from this past weekend. It’s not pretty folks. I may escape with a winning record though.

THANKS for checking out the blog today, and I hope to see you back on here tomorrow. Until then REMEMBER THIS !

Friday Night Blogroll Review

DO THE BLOGROLL !  And we do it just like this:

Travis presents his survival guide to Hurricane Ike.

J.T. filled in for P.J. as he presented his synopsis of last Sunday morning at the LPC.

Kourtney, McKenna, and Blake have been to states that I’ve never been to before.

Jesse is a movie star !

Billy presents the major difference between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin.

Ritz is hangin’ out this weekend at my former playground near Orlando.

Rebecca knows how to party at FSU with fried donuts and oreos and boy band dancing.

Luciana is apparently a fan of those ‘Desperate Housewives’.

GREETINGS on a Thursday night as I watch the final moments of the NFL season-opener featuring my Washington Redskins up against the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. Up next John McCain gives his long-awaited acceptance speech as the Republican National Convention comes to a close.

TOMORROW on the big blog be sure to check out my special report on how Hurricane Ike actually got its name. We’ve never had an ‘Ike’ before. Why is that ?  Then stick around for another fresh new ‘Friday Night Blogroll Review’ featuring my favourite blog entries of this past week.

If you were looking for the ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ earlier tonight then look no further. After 31 editions over the past 31 weeks it’s taking a well-deserved break. That’s right. The most successful weekly series here on this blog (by far) is now on temporary hiatus. Look for it to return at a later date.

That’s all for tonight. I’ll see you tomorrow – or the next day – or whenever. Until then REMEMBER THIS !
