Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts

It’s Tuesday night, and all of the loyal fans of this blog are anxiously awaiting the TOP 10 items (in no particular order) that are on my mind right this very minute. I’m not one to let you all down:

1.  I made a special guest appearance late this morning at the Life Pointe Church offices. It was announced beforehand. I have learned that it’s good to do that because if I arrive unannounced then I could find the offices closed, locked, and vacated for the winter. It was fun to hang out and laugh with Anne J. (hard at work on her computer), P.J. (lingering around on his day off from work), Marcela (hanging out with P.J.), and Paul (taking a break from his desk). Travis, Jesse, and Alex were busy computing / blogging / preparing for next Sunday morning.

2.  Last week was my one-year-anniversary as a Life Pointe Church blogger. That’s when I posted my very first comment on Travis’s blog a full two months before I even created my own blog over on MySpace (the predecessor to this blog).

3.  If you’re trying to figure out how the Democrats will mess up the upcoming 2008 Presidential elections for themselves then look no further than the continuing damaging war of words between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

4.  Chelsea Clinton recently stated that ‘the world will breathe a sigh of relief when this President (Bush) is gone’. I didn’t know that Chelsea had made herself a spokesperson for the world. I think that the terrorists will breathe a sigh of relief if John McCain isn’t our next President. They are waiting for us to retreat and surrender from Iraq. John McCain won’t let that happen.

5.  I drove to work early this morning in a driving rain storm that began as I approached the Keys Gate area along North Canal Drive and pretty much ended as I pulled in to my parking space at work. It was a nice treat for my car – a free wash.

6.  I’ve become a creature of habit. Now that the east side of Homestead pretty much has everything that I want and need (with much more coming soon) that is pretty much where I hang for days, weeks, and even months at a time. Sometimes it’s even a treat for me to merely venture across U.S. 1 to the west side of town !

7.  If given the choice between a basket of boneless chicken wings and original boned chicken wings I’d go with the wings with the bones still intact. They taste better to me. A large part of the fun of eating wings is eating off of the bone. The fun is taken away with the boneless variety.

8.  I’m not much into April Fools jokes; however, I did re-enlist in the Air Force for my second four-year term on this date back in 1989. My supervisour at the time asked me to pick a date that I’d like to take the oath again, and I – without hesitation – selected April Fools Day 1989. The joke is on everyone from that era a long time ago. My 23-year Air Force career continues at the base in Homestead.

9.  I’m not one to wish bad things on other people, but if you’re going to drive over MASSIVE speedbumps at the same exact speed as you are driving in-between them then you just deserve four flat tires or alignment that’s out-of-whack. I also get a kick out of motorists that take their vehicle off-road into the grass or over a curb just to avoid stopping at a red light before making a right-hand turn.

10.  I need a haircut. It’s windy outside, and I’m starting to look like this dude again:

Bedtime Stories

Good Evening Friends. This is the Monday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ brought to you by Olive Garden.

I’m shutting-down my computer shortly before 9 PM tonight and retreating to my master bedroom due to a videocassette recording dilemma. I’ve got all 3 of my VCRs working overtime tonight and early tomorrow morning taping over 8 hours of quality television programming on 5 different networks in addition to watching over 3 hours of TV shows before I even go to sleep tonight. Who said that there is nothing good on TV nowadays ?  Not me !  Tomorrow (Tuesday) night is even more ridiculous. My VCRs will go to work for me in taping nearly 11 hours of shows that I can’t watch !  That’s right I’ve gone VCR crazy like it’s 1988 !

Be sure to catch the blog in action tomorrow afternoon after 4 PM as I present to you my weekly ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’. You just won’t believe what could be on my mind tomorrow !

Later this week on the ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ I’ll show you how you can eradicate mosquitoes from your Life forever with the help of a common bathroom product.

Until we hang out again here on the blog remember this:

Olive Garden:  When you’re here, you’re Family.

Have a safe and peaceful Monday night everyone !

Good Night Beckie !  So Long March !

Friday Night Blogroll Review

It’s Friday night friends, so that means it’s time for me to highlight some of my favourite bloggers with some of their best blog entries of this past week:

Travis presents a 4½-minute video shot by the Ritz Man of our ‘Moonlight Easter Egg Hunt’ at Harris Field last Friday night. This is the G-rated version. The TV-14 version was (thankfully) not captured on tape.

Kelly gave me a hard time about not wearing my light-blue ‘CHURCH ROCKS !‘ tee-shirt at the aforementioned event. Travis stated that I can have an ‘I Survived The 2008 Moonlight Easter Egg Hunt’ tee-shirt once it rolls off of the presses. I’ll have to make sure that Kelly sees me wearing that or else there will be trouble !

Phil is all about various thoughts – a ‘Deep Thought‘ on Wednesday, a bunch of ‘Scattered Thoughts‘ on Thursday, and a collection of leftover ‘Smothered Thoughts‘ on Friday. I am flattered that P.J. has taken my ‘Tuesday Night’ mainstay and run with it on his blog. He’s cool like that !

Nathan is on God’s ‘V.I.P. List’ so that no bouncer is going to stop him from talking to Jesus on a regular basis.

Harmony has all of the pictures from InDependence Church’s Easter Sunday celebration at a local park in Weston.

Gary Lamb tells the mad crazy story of how his church’s Easter Egg Drop went down last Saturday up in Canton Georgia. What you are about to read could SHOCK you !  You are there as you check out the unbelievable saga in two parts – Part 1 and Part 2. You have been warned !

Bedtime Stories

And so we have right here right now the Tuesday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ – brought to you by Zicam.

My unexpectedly long Good Friday / Easter Sunday holiday weekend will soon come to a close as I pray to God and lay myself to sleep in about 2½-hours. I’ll get about 6 hours of sleep tonight, and then I’ll wake up at 5 AM tomorrow morning and be at work by 6 AM. I’m looking forward to getting back to my desk at work and catching up with everything there. Once upon a time I dreaded going to work, but now I adore it.

I saw the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle Endeavour over the eastern skies of Homestead tonight just after 8 PM. It was so cool watching the Space Shuttle play tag team with the ISS up in Earth’s orbit from practically sea level.

I bought my very first atomic radio-controlled clock today. It picks-up its signal from the NIST signal out of Fort Collins Colorado. I now know exactly what time it is, and I can set my watch and VCR clocks to its precise time.

FedEx delivered my fresh new 2GB iPod Shuffle from Apple late this afternoon. Now I can get to work and fill that thing up with today’s hottest Christian rock, pop, and hip hop hits !

And that’s how I roll tonight with my ‘Bedtime Stories’. Be sure to catch this blog in action again tomorrow for some more cool stuff, and don’t forget that Thursday night is ‘Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ night. Until then remember this:

Zicam – Get over your cold faster.

Good Night Everyone !  Good Night Nancy !
