Bedtime Stories

Greetings fellow bloggers – those who read and those who write. It’s time for the Sunday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ – brought to you by Cookie Crisp cereal.

Here are some things that I resolve to do during this upcoming holiday week:

  • Wear a green shirt tomorrow to celebrate my Irish heritage in honour of St. Patrick’s Day. (I’m 50% Irish in case you didn’t know.)
  • Eat Chinese food for Lunch tomorrow to celebrate my love of foods that are green – such as broccoli.
  • Go to Publix tomorrow afternoon after work to do some serious shopping for food. Yes Venus and Kristina – even though I don’t cook my own food I still eat food.
  • Get a tattoo on my lower-right thigh with Jesse.
  • Wash and dry bath towels twice this week.
  • Prepare for the WORM. (This only makes sense to my coworkers.)
  • Shave on Tuesday night.
  • Go out clubbing with Paul.
  • Attend Life Group this Wednesday night and arrive before Nancy.
  • Serve at the ‘Moonlight Easter Egg Hunt’ on Good Friday night. (Visit easterinhomestead.com for the 411.)
  • Induct another ‘Chris Day’ into ‘The Chris Day Club’.
  • Get a haircut with Travis at Woody’s Barber Shop.

Be sure to return back here tomorrow afternoon for another fun-filled day here on the blog. I may even have a fresh new edition of ‘The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club’.

Until then remember this:

If you like cookies, you’ll love Cookie Crisp !

Bedtime Stories

It’s just after 8:30 PM EDT on this wild and crazy Monday night, and I just got home from a full day of work (at the base) and even more work (at the church office) about an hour ago. I am so totally exhausted after this nearly 14-hour day away from home, but it was the funnest day I’ve enjoyed in recent memory !  I had an awesome time at both places of work.

It was fun hangin’ out with Travis, Paul, Jesse, Alex, and Anne (you need a blog too) at the church office this afternoon, and I now have a ton of new stuff that I need to set up on my computer here at home to get started with my new position as Life Pointe’s ‘Director Of Cool’ as Pastor Travis is tentatively referring to it, or as the ‘Director Of Life Pointe Connections’ as I am tentatively referring to it (until I come up with something even more catchier or at least relevant).

I’ll get it all ready and organized by this upcoming Saturday night. I’ll need to because I go to work and hit it hard on Sunday afternoon after I return home from the two services with everything that I need to do to get connected with everyone. I’m really looking forward to it all.

Well that’s what I’ve got for tonight as far as ‘Bedtime Stories’ is concerned. It’s my only blog entry for this Monday. I’ll be back on the blog tomorrow (Tuesday) after 4 PM with my most-anticipated ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’.

Have a safe, peaceful, and relaxing Monday night everyone, and until we blog again remember this:

Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man.

Wonderful Week At Work: Completed

I got off from work at 11:30 AM this morning, and it was the completion of another wonderful week.

The leadership of my building (including me) worked on a major time-consuming project all this week – a grande PowerPoint Presentation that was pretty much all about us and the work that we do. We did it in preparation of a ‘welcome briefing’ for one of our new Commanders on base. That briefing took place this morning in our building’s Conference Room. It began at precisely 9 AM, and it lasted for nearly 2½ hours. I think that we totally blew away our new Commander with the show, and he was most appreciative of the effort. At one point during the briefing the top guy of our building unexpectedly told me to stand up, and then he proceeded to shower me with praise upon praise for a couple of minutes regarding many of my various accomplishments since arriving in that building just a little over 4 months ago. That made me feel so great !

After 20 years I’ve finally found a place on base for me where I actually look forward to going to work each and every morning. At the end of each work day I always look back at it feeling sincerely happy and totally satisfied that I gave it my all, and that my fellow co-workers truly appreciated what I did for them during the course of the day. I finally have co-workers who consistently respect me for my technical expertise and experience.

I am so truly greatful to God to be living in this current life of mine – the Renaissance of my personal life – as well as the Renaissance of my professional career. There’s no looking back now to what my life and career used to be. It’s all about what it is in the now, and this now shall continue infinitely as long as I continue to progress forward on God’s fantastic journey for me !
