Bedtime Stories

It’s after 10:15 PM EDT as I begin this first and final blog entry for this 3RD Wednesday of March, and I’m so late in posting tonight because I just got home from Life Group at J.T.’s and Anne’s home. I was the first to arrive, but I was not the last to depart.

It was another fun 3 hours at their home, and this Wednesday night’s Life Group was a very special one. It was my one-year anniversary. Exactly 52 weeks ago tonight I stepped in to J.T.’s and Anne’s home for the very first time after several weeks of pleading and prodding by Anne to join her Life Group. That night I took a giant leap on this fantastic journey by meeting for faith and fellowship with a small portion of my Sunday morning church family during the middle of the week. That night I also met J.T. for the first time ever. I had briefly heard of him, but I didn’t know what he looked like. I must say that he intimidated me at first over the telephone when I called to get directions to their home, but once I finally met him in person all was forgiven. 🙂

And so Year 2 with my Life Group begins next Wednesday night. I’m looking forward to it. I love spending quality time every week with everyone in our constantly evolving small church family. The faces continue to change, but the love is always there. We are certainly loving each other and most definitely God with reckless abandon !

And that’s my ‘Bedtime Story’ for tonight. Be sure to catch the blog tomorrow afternoon for the ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’. I’ll show you a way that all of us can get together and sock it to the man and get gas prices down from $3.30 per gallon to $1.30 per gallon. At least that’s what a recent chain-letter that was circulating all over Homestead Air Reserve Base was suggesting !

Until then remember this:

You’ll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent.

Good Night Everyone !  Good Night Gracie !

The Road Rage Files – Chapter 22

Location – Stopped at the traffic light in the right-hand lane eastbound on Biscayne Drive (SW 288TH St.) at Speedway Boulevard (SW 137TH Ave.) right at the northern city limits of Homestead. (This is one of the most dangerous intersections in the Homestead area.)

Scenario – This car driven by an apparent female with dark sunglasses on while talking on a cell phone approaches my car from the rear, and decides that she can’t wait for the light to turn green so that I can proceed through the intersection on my way back to the base. She proceeds to pull in to the empty middle lane, and then make a right-hand turn into Homestead (without stopping no doubt) while missing hitting the front of my car by less than a foot. A couple of seconds later the light turned green, and I proceeded forward.

My Thoughts – This is a lady with no patience who was obviously in a hurry to get somewhere in Homestead real fast with no regard at all to common courtesy, safety, or the law. If she continues to drive like that then she will probably become a sad statistic.

Bedtime Stories

It’s Thursday night. It’s 8:30 PM. I can’t think of a better time than now to post my ‘Bedtime Stories’ for tonight – brought to you by Boston Market.

Today at Lunch time I took my car for a much-needed bubble bath at Busy Bee Car Wash up in Perrine. I’ve been going to that place for the past 4 cars and 19 years. They always do a good job cleaning it all up for me.

After that I went over to The Living Word Christian Bookstore in Cutler Bay. I spent a good half-hour there browsing around the whole store, and I bought a few items as well.

Lunch was next, and I ate at the Boston Market at the corner of Useless-One and Quail Roost Drive. They are very unorganized there as far as ordering, paying for, and receiving your food, but the utter chaos became a memory once I sunk in to that delicious food !

Well that’s how I spent my Lunch hour two-hours today.

Tomorrow on the blog I’ve got your ‘Friday Night Blogroll Review’. That’s where I ping some of my favourite blog entries of this past week.

Until then remember this:

Bedtime Stories

It’s time for the Wednesday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ – brought to you by Cheez Whiz.

Loyal and observant fans of this blog noticed that for the first time in nearly 2 weeks there was no ‘Bedtime Stories’ posted last night. The reason ?  It’s quite simple. I couldn’t think of anything relevant to write last night – so I posted a fresh new edition of ‘The Chris Day Club’ instead. It contributed to the biggest Wednesday on this blog (as far as views are concerned) since the middle of January !  (In case you’re wondering I didn’t actually have that telephone conversation with Chris Day, but if I did then it may have gone a little something like that.)

You may have seen or heard this in the news. 69-year-old Dawn Wells – ‘Mary Ann’ from ‘Gilligan’s Island‘ – was recently busted for marijuana possession up in Idaho after being pulled over for erratic driving. ‘Mary Ann’ was hangin’ out with ‘Mary Jane’. Read all about it.

After Janet Jackson had to pull out of ‘Saturday Night Live‘ this week due to the flu they came up with a HUGE replacement for her – Mariah Carey – who makes her first appearance on the show since the mid-1990s. Read all about it.

Well that’s your celebrity entertainment news for today, and your ‘Bedtime Stories’ for tonight. May you have a safe and peaceful Wednesday night at home. Be sure to catch this blog again tomorrow afternoon for a SHOCKING ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ that you just won’t believe !  The banana that you ate earlier today could be eating away at your flesh tonight !

Until we clear that one up for you remember this:
