My Fantastic Journey: It’s In The Lyrics

GRITS stands for Grammatical Revolution In The Spirit, and the duo comes to us from Music City U.S.A. – Nashville Tennessee. They were once part of the legendary group known as dc Talk (also featuring tobyMac). GRITS music has been featured on several movie soundtracks, various MTV shows, and TNA wrestling.

In 2006 they released their 8TH studio album “Redemption”. It included this gem featuring Los Angeles California rapper Pigeon John. It’s “Open Bar”, and it was one of the first hip hop / rap radio singles that I discovered during the first year of my fantastic journey with God. In fact it made me realize that such an eclectic genre of Christian music actually existed in the first place. It’s hip hop and rap music that’s clearly on the side of God. Anything is possible when you are aligned with God. This may be all about an “Open Bar”, but this is not what you think it is. There’s living water in this bar, so get your mind in order. Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

It’s my takeaways from this morning at Life Pointe Church in Homestead Florida.

– Peter and Paul had an argument.
– There was a bit of a conflict between the two of them.
– Conflict is healthy.
– If everything was alike and everyone was identical there’d be no growth.
– No growth equates to death.
– There’s right versus wrong, good versus evil, and Point A versus Point B.
– We all have our own opinions and viewpoints.
– That even includes God-following-and-loving-Christians.
– We should not be spineless jellyfish.
– We should be louder and prouder than the extremely vocal non-believers.
– We should be brutally honest with each other to better ourselves.
– Our honesty should be based on love – not hurt.
– We must be totally obsessed with The Good News.
– The Bible is The Truth like nothing else is.
– The church is a constantly evolving living and breathing body.
– Be the church.

I won’t be at Life Pointe Church next Sunday morning, so if you really wish to know what happens then go and check it out for yourself because nobody else is going to blog about it. There are two services every Sunday morning at the Flagship Cinemas 14 on the south side of Campbell Drive (SW 312TH St. / NE 8TH St.) near the Turnpike. The 1-hour-and-15-minute services begin at precisely 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Admission is free, and so is the hot coffee and the delicious bagels with cream cheese. I’ll see you back there on the 28TH of June !

Thursday Night Mini Thoughts

– This is the weekly blog series that I look forward to the most.
– If I did this twice per week then I wouldn’t look forward to it as much.
– These are my spontaneous spur-of-the-moment thoughts right now.
– It takes you 3 seconds or less to read each thought.
– That’s why the’re called ‘Mini Thoughts’.
– I’ve got to be careful here because I could offend someone.
– Oh well what if I do ?
– I’m just being real.
– It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been on this journey following God.
– The devil is always working hard to win you back.
– He wants you to commit sins and rejoin the darkness of the world.
– If you take your heart and soul off of God then you lose.
– But once you’ve fallen it’s real easy to get back up again.
– God is the solution to every problem.
– If you don’t believe that then you just don’t get it.
– Maybe some day you will.
– Hopefully some day you will.
– God will patiently wait for you to come around.
– It’s never too late to stop wasting time and start chasing daylight.
– I didn’t proceed into the light until after my 39TH birthday.
– Ask me about my new Life over the past 1,000+ days.
– TOMORROW is my 24TH anniversary in the United States Air Force.
– There are people working on base that were born after I started working there.
– If you were born in 1993 then you can drive a car now.
– That totally frightens me to bits and pieces !
– Dallas Texas got SLAMMED by torrential rains, flooding, and wind damage.
– Some parts of Dallas got over a half a FOOT of rain today and last night.
– If my flight to DFW was this afternoon then I would have gone nowhere.
– Hundreds of flights in and out of DFW were cancelled today.
– Luckily I’m flying in to the Metroplex NEXT Thursday afternoon.
– I hope the weather is peaceful and quiet then – here and there.
– I received a funny joke today via E-Mail regarding Texas.
– I’ll post it as a ‘Saturday Morning Shenanigan’ this weekend.
– I might see “The Hangover” at the movie theatre this weekend.
– It’s a surprising runaway box office smash hit !
– I’ll probably be laughing all throughout the funny flick.
– I love to laugh.
– Laughing is healthy.
– If I’m laughing then all is good in my Life.
– And it is.
