Bedtime Stories

Since the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2007 not a single day has gone by here on this blog without at least one posted entry. That’s 163 days in a row, so why stop now ?  The continuous blogging streak continues.

This is Day 164, and this is the Monday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’. I do it for all of my thousands hundreds of fans worldwide.

TODAY was one of those rare days where it was rather slow at work, and extremely hectic here at home. We had wide area network (WAN) technical difficulties throughout the day today, so there were long periods of time in which our computers were essentially useless with no internet, no web, and no E-Mail. I like to refer to that period of time in which computers had no internet, no web, and no E-Mail – as 1993 !  😉

I pretty much came home from work this afternoon to use a computer that actually works – that is – connected to the rest of the world.

Monday is always a busy day here at home on my computer. Nowadays it’s even busier as I do a lot of post-Sunday follow-up work for my church. As usual I’m not even close to being done with it all, so the fun shall continue tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon. I adore serving God’s people at Life Pointe Church. My Life is purpose-driven. I am alive.

Also TOMORROW – Be sure to check out the most spontaneous weekly series here on this blog, as it’s another thought-provoking edition of the ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’. You just never know what 10 items of interest could be on my mind on any given Tuesday night.

Have a safe, peaceful, and relaxing Monday night everyone, and until we chill-out again here on the blog remember this:

Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

1.  Before we get to Sunday morning at Life Pointe Church at Flagship Cinemas in the east of Homestead I must first mention Saturday at Life Pointe Church at our fresh new offices in Uptown Homestead (NW 15TH Street a half a block west of Krome Avenue). I had planned to stop by and check out the new office space and maybe even help out a bit for perhaps an hour or two. As I was getting ready to leave Richie told me to grab a paint brush and get to work pronto. 8 hours later I had wrapped-up a fun-filled day with my friends as we painted that place blue, green, and brown. I plan to move in to my new office this Thursday.  😉

2.  I came up with the idea of a Father’s Day barbeque, official ribbon-cutting ceremony, and open house of our new offices in June following Sunday morning services. Paul said, ‘That’s a good idea. Put that on your blog.’ Travis added, ‘Yeah we can do that. Tell Paul.’

3.  Venus D. came up with an interesting idea for Mother’s Day next Sunday morning, and she got Tere and Patricia to join the bandwagon and rubber stamp it (naturally). She wants all of the LPC dudes to dress up in full tuxedos next week so that they can wait hand and foot on each Mom and then escort them into the main theatre. I vetoed the idea, suggested an equally degrading idea for Father’s Day, and then Anne J. playfully hit me like nobody’s business !  I’M SAYIN’ !

4.  ‘The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club’ (TM) has inspired this month’s message series at the LPC. Pastor Travis spoke on fate and destiny. The future is definite. Your future is changeable. God polishes your missteps and causes them to work in synergy with His best hope for your Life. Your path is determined by your next actionable decision. God is omniscient; therefore, He knows how it all turns out. He calls us to Himself for redemption.

5.  Pastor Paul bookended Pastor Travis before and after the message with communion before and time set aside for completing our connection cards after. The connection cards are an extremely valuable tool for keeping in touch with us and ensuring that we have your correct information on file. It also lets us know how we’re doing as a church family. You can utilize the connection card to write down your comments and prayer requests. You can also use it to request additional information about becoming a follower of Jesus, getting baptised, serving, and then ultimately becoming a member of Life Pointe Church. Use the connection card regularly no matter if you an occasional attender of our services or a long-time member. We need to constantly hear from you. The connection card is an excellent form of communication between you and your LPC staff.

Bedtime Stories

Greetings Friends & Bloggers. This is the Thursday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’.

I’ve just spent the past hour watching “Are You Smarter Than A 5TH Grader ?” on FOX-TV. Up next is another Prime Time favourite of mine – “Don’t Forget The Lyrics“. Tonight on ‘Lyrics’ it’s a special celebrity edition with Bret Michaels of Poison – one of the greatest hard rock and roll bands of my entire life. “Unskinny Bop” may just be the greatest song that was ever made. Don’t hate me.

I’ve also spent the past hour browsing away on iTunes. I picked out 7 current hit songs that I’ll be purchasing. The’re in my Shopping Cart right now. It’s great Christian Rock music from (in alphabetical order) – Demon Hunter, Emery, Manic Drive, P.O.D., Project 86, Seventh Day Slumber, and Wavorly.

And so that’s what I’m watching on TV and listening to on the radio and on my iPod Shuffle. And you also found out that I was once (in my previous life) a Poison groupie (circa the Summer Of 1990). You just never know what you could possibly find out about me here on this blog.

That’s my ‘Bedtime Stories’ for tonight. Don’t forget that the ‘Friday Night Blogroll Review’ will be in full effect tomorrow afternoon. Look for it sometime after 5 PM.

Good Night Everyone !  Good Night Christye !

Bedtime Stories

Greetings Friends & Bloggers. It’s time for the Wednesday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’.

This is the final blog entry for tonight – and for this month of April 2008. This was the biggest month in our history as far as unique views were concerned. In fact we totally shattered the previous record for the biggest month – March 2008 – by more than 20% !  That’s EXPLOSIVE growth month-to-month for this blog, and it’s all because of you – the loyal and faithful viewer that checks out what’s going on here every day and comments when appropriate. Thank you all for your support !

Besides tomorrow being the first day of May (‘May Day’) it’s also a Thursday, so it’s time for another eye-popping edition of the fastest-growing weekly series here on this blog – the ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’. I’ll be posting a couple of SHOCKING pictures that you’re just not going to believe. But millions of people all around the world did believe. Is it deja vu ?  Have you seen these pictures before ?  I’m pretty sure that some of you have, but it’s where you’ve seen them before that will leave you totally stunned. Be sure to catch it tomorrow afternoon shortly after 4 PM.

May you have a safe, peaceful, and blessed Wednesday night with your loved ones – even if your all alone, and your loved one is God. You may be alone, but with Him in your Life you are never ever lonely. He is everywhere that you need Him to be. Love Him and Worship Him above everyone and everything else.

Until we hang out again here on the blog remember this:
