Bedtime Stories

This is the 33RD edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ – brought to you by I Love Cheese.com.

TODAY I enjoyed a 3½-hour Lunch with Paul and Phil at Homestead’s historic White Lion Cafe. We ate delicious food non-stop for about 1½-hours, and then we just sat there and talked about the world for the next two-hours after that. One of the estimated 53 topics of discussion that involved the three of us (as well as three employees of the restaurant) was the correct spelling of f-e-t-t-u-c-c-i-n-e. That occupied a good 15 minutes of our precious time together. By the time it was all said and done I felt like I had attended and graduated from Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee, as I had lived vicariously through Paul’s and Phil’s experiences of a lifetime there. I had a great time of fun, food, and fellowship, and we’ll have to do it all over again sometime soon !

In other news we’ve just completed the biggest Friday in the history of this blog. Over the past 21 days we have now scored our biggest Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday here on this blog as far as unique hits are concerned. THANKS to everyone for blogging with me on here !

TOMORROW MORNING on the blog I’ve got what could be the Spring season finale of ‘The Major’s Walk-A-Thon’. Be there as I report on my walk all around my neighbourhood. Then on Sunday afternoon get in on some fun, food, and fellowship of your own over at Homestead Bayfront Park as Life Pointe Church invades the beach for our bimonthly picnic. If you can’t make it over there then read all about it on the ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ later that afternoon.

And so there you go with your ‘Bedtime Stories’ on a Friday night. Have a nice and pleasant evening with your loved ones, get some rest, and I’ll catch you all back here on the blog real soon.

Until we hang out again … remember this:

Bedtime Stories

This is ‘Bedtime Stories’ for a Tuesday night, and this edition of the ‘Bedtime Stories’ is all about things that I’m looking forward to doing soon.

– I’m looking forward to a fun night of food and fellowship with my Life Group family tomorrow (Wednesday) night.

– I’m looking forward to eating Lunch with this dude and this dude on Friday.

– I’m looking forward to quite possibly the Spring season finale of ‘The Major’s Walk-A-Thon’ bright and early this Saturday morning.

– I’m looking forward to another fantastic Sunday morning at Life Pointe Church followed by an afternoon of fun, food, and fellowship at Homestead Bayfront Park with my church family.

– I’m looking forward to returning to Orlando for the first time in this new Life in two weeks to attend ‘The 2008 National New Church Conference‘. Returning to a place that I used to visit several times per year for all of the wrong reasons will be quite the accomplishment for me considering the reason why I am going up there this time around. I have lived the darkness and now I am alive in the daylight. I’ll be chasing that daylight straight up to Orlando to the former scene of the crimes. Get out of my way Satan. I have no time and no use for you anymore. I’m a Jesus Freak now. I praise Him !  I worship Him !  I follow Him !

Well that pretty much wraps things up for this blog tonight. This was another one of those ‘spur-of-the-moment’ blog entries that came to me as I typed it on here. I didn’t plan it. It just spontaneously happened. It seems like whenever I just let my fingers do the talking on here it always leads back to Him. He’s that amazing.

Have a really cool Tuesday night everyone with your loved ones, and I shall anxiously await your return to this blog again tomorrow. I love you all !

Bedtime Stories

Greetings Friends. It’s time for the 30TH edition of the ever-so-popular ‘Bedtime Stories’ series here on this blog. ‘Bedtime Stories’ is kind of like my version of ‘The Tonight Show‘ – a long-running staple that you can always depend on to be there with a fresh new edition on most nights.

The ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ is pretty much my ‘Meet The Press‘ on here. If it’s Sunday – then it’s ‘Tossed Salad’ day !

I’m not the only dude that recaps his Sunday morning experiences at Life Pointe Church. Pastor Travis created the concept. Check out his ‘Sunday Wrap-Up’. Trav’s real bro Phil (P.J.) has run with his ‘Sunday Life Pointe Talk Soup’ for 5 weeks now. And then there’s the ‘Ritz Crackah‘ who has his ‘Sunday Goosfaba’. (‘Goosfaba’ is a variation of ‘Goosfraba’ which is an Eskimo word that was made famous in the 2003 box office smash ‘Anger Management‘.)

I’ll be back at work bright and early tomorrow morning to kick-off a fresh new week at my job. I’m making it a special point to get away from the base during the Lunch hour to finally get a haircut and then to eat Chinese Food for Lunch. Be sure to check out ‘The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club’ tomorrow (Monday) afternoon.

Have a safe and peaceful Sunday night everyone, and until we hang out again here on the blog remember this:

Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad

1.  Neither Anne J. nor myself were the first to arrive this morning at the movie theatre. Pastor Paul beat both of us. He was determined to build that Information Booth piece by piece in no time flat like nobody else can !

2.  At precisely 8:58 AM I turned on the two-minute countdown at the laptop that controls the small video screen at the Information Booth, and the loud Christian punk anthem that plays totally frightened Anne J. as she was standing right in front of the screen and the stereo speakers. She recovered nicely from the momentary fright-fest and proceeded to do a little bit of the ‘robot dance’ circa 1982. If you snoozed then you missed it !

3.  It was Luciana and I that rocked the Kids Life Registration tables before and during the 9 AM service. Luci led, and I followed her lead. I filled in for the vacationing Lisa Trinidad. We prayed for her safe return back home to Homestead and Life Pointe Church real soon.

4.  Pastor Travis led this week’s teaching for Week 3 of our current ‘Simply Jesus’ message series entitled ‘Why Did Jesus’ Mom Need To Be A Virgin ?’ We learned about 7 items that Scripture does NOT teach us about the Virgin Birth of Jesus:
– That Mary did not have a normal delivery. (Yes she did.)
– That Mary remained a virgin for the rest of her life. (No she didn’t.)
– That Jesus’ virgin birth was a myth taken from other religions. (No.)
– That belief in the virgin birth proves the deity of Jesus. (No.)
– That our sin nature is only passed through the male line. (No.)
– That Mary ‘mixed it up’ with God. (No she didn’t.)
– That the virgin birth is unimportant. (It is important.)

5.  Some people have elevated Mary to a position that is virtually equal with Jesus while other people have diminished her importance. Mary should not be an object of faith. She should be an example of faith for all Christians, as she loved God, was a woman of prayer, and lived in holiness as marked by her virginity up until marriage.

6.  This afternoon about 3 dozen of us jam-packed into Travis & Kelly‘s dining room to eat CiCi’s Pizza and brownies and discuss the ‘Moonlight Easter Egg Hunt‘ of 16 nights ago. We’re going to do it all over again in April 2009, and we’re going to do it bigger and better next year with a whole lot of planning and with a whole lot of help from our friends. We’ll be starting up a fresh new blog for the sole purpose of planning next year’s MASSIVE event, so that we can instantly interact with each other online on how to make it all happen.
