Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday November 24TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m in Wylie Texas this morning, so I’m missing my Highlands Community Church family back home in Sebring Florida. I’ll be back next Sunday December 01ST. I’m with my family for #ThanksChristmasGiving – our annual tradition of Thanksgiving and Christmas combined during the week-plus leading-up to Thanksgiving Day.

I hope to work on a few upcoming sermons during my free time here in Texas.

From the 100TH Psalm – it’s a Psalm of Thanksgiving, and as the Bible says:

Shout with joy to the LORD – all the earth !
Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before Him – singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the LORD is God ! He made us, and we are His. We are His people – the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving. Go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.

You know – on this fantastic journey that our God has blessed us with – every day should be a day of Thanksgiving. We should give thanks to our God – with each new day that He has made – for what He has given to us – for what He gives to us – and for what He will give to us – past, present, and future. His blessings come to us constantly and abundantly. We must always be ready to accept His gifts.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

If you wish to learn more about the God I know – then stay tuned to #SundayScripture. The best is yet to come !

Thank you for reading my blog for this day, and may:

The LORD bless you, and keep you.
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

AMERICAN TOP 40 WITH CASEY KASEM – One of my favorite things to do on Saturdays is to sit down, compile this chart, and listen to #AT40 on SiriusXM (70s On 7). It reminds me of my childhood in Prince Georges County Maryland (Greenbelt, Bowie, and Lanham). That’s where I lived in the 1970s. That’s where I fell in love with Top 40 music on the radio. That’s where I discovered and followed the Billboard Hot 100. That’s when Casey Kasem was my idol. I wanted to be just like him, and I wanted to do what he did once I grew up. When I did grow up and join the Air Force and get stationed overseas in the United Kingdom – I fell in love with British Top 40 music on the radio. My weekly music chart was born – 39 years ago at the end of this month. That first era of my chart lasted 7 years from 1985 to 1992. The next era of my chart lasted 14 years from 1995 to 2010. This current era of my chart is now in its 405TH week.

SPOTIFY – You can hear “My Top 10 Hits” anytime by accessing my CountUp playlist on Spotify. All 10 hits are there from top to bottom. You can hear them in order from # 1 to # 10, or you can shuffle them. My playlist will be updated every weekend (usually before the actual chart is presented here on Mondays). You can link to it here.

Your likes, follows, and comments are always appreciated. Thank You for being part of my online ministry to share God’s Good News and win souls for Christ through His music. God used loud music on the radio in South Florida to reach me in August of 2006. I’ve been testifying about Him ever since.

Be blessed my friends !  May our God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Sunday Scripture

Greetings my friends. It is Sunday November 17TH 2024, and this is the day that our LORD has made. Let us rejoice. Let us be glad in it. Let us celebrate this great new day of believing, following, trusting, loving, and being more like our Lord + Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love our neighbor as ourself.

I’m in my old homestead of Homestead Florida this morning – the 4TH of 4 days here. I’ll be joining my former home church family this morning in fellowship and service and celebration. It’s my first time back at Living Waters Full Gospel Church in 9 weeks !

I have a lot of friends here in Homestead – some from my former workplace, but most from my former home church since March 2015. I love my church family. They are not mere Sunday morning acquaintances. They are lifelong friends. They are friends who I pray for with each new day that He has made. They are friends who I plan to visit for the foreseeable future.

Proverbs 27:10 (NLT):

Never abandon a friend – either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes – you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.

My testimony is featured each week here on #SundayScripture – whether it’s part of a sermon, a testimony, or just me writing about the events of the past week. Hopefully it encourages you and inspires you to seek the Lord – and get closer to Him with each new day.

FOR KING + COUNTRY – They are 1 of 2 artists (the other is Tauren Wells) who have had more hits on my chart than any other artist without ever reaching # 1. Both artists are tied with 11 hits. But – for King + Country may end that streak very soon (maybe next week ?) with their redux of “Place In This World” with Michael W. Smith. It’s up 2 notches this week to # 2 !
